there is a thread for jay hooks in the glass section with some really interesting objects. like for example @steama's piece. but j-hooks look so fragile in general. i was dreaming about a straight, thick walled glass tube with a perpendicularly attached 14 fitting. opium pipe like.

One of my friends prefer the Vapman hooked up to just a long down stem, and I'm thinking of hooking him up with a proper j hook.

Any of you good folks have any suggestions for a good J Hook for the V Man?

I have a hang up on opium pipes aka the first vaporizer (I think), these days. Fascinating technology.

I think they would work very well with hash. I'm getting ideas here hmmmmm

i really like the look of oregonglassblower's piece but first i want one of @Ed's TnT waterpipe adapters.

and yet they're not. The OregonGlassBlower piece is very solid and so are the aqualab hooks. The grab labs hook is the least sturdy but still quite strong. Of course they are glass so there is that shatter hazard.

@Seren, they are coming along well so far but I have to leave it a bit because the circuit boards for the heating station finally arrived, therefore I am busy on that project now. Beside this, I am also making some more yew tree units along with the few ebonies, this is also a reason why it takes a bit longer.

I wish I could employ some more workers to help me, seeing @Steama`s and others contribution to our brand makes me feel positive about it, that vapman is here to stay and that our company has definitively the potential to grow.

I want to release the heating station this month and the ebonies and more yew trees straight after.

I went to The Netherlands yesterday and bought some hash, so I could finally test it with some. Tastes great and hits hard!

BUT... It was so sticky on the screens that I just torched them clean. It left white stains on it. Haven't vaped of it since, but does it matter? Is it supposed to be a bit messy?

Hash packed between herb in the Solo, got to love it also man! Almost forgot how fucking good it tastes. Even better now vaping it instead of smoking!

This is a lil embarrassing but having trouble filling up my vapman lighter. I have 5x filtered butane for my dab torch and tried putting in the bottom of the vapman lighter to fill her up. I can not get any butane in. Is there a locked mechanismm?

Maybe purging the lighter first ??? back pressure can keep it from filling. Also i've found With some cans of butane (mainly newport) I have to push down extra hard to get it take gas.

Hey ladies and gents,

I know some of us here are pretty hardcore Vapman fans, and I was talking with a friend of mine about vapes and I found that I was having a hard time explaining why I choose a butane powered Vape over a battery (Lights, bells and whistles) kind of vape.

One great reason is that, (as Mr Mellish once said), it is "post Zombie Apocalypse and post-EMP strike friendly!"

I myself just hate dealing with batteries, but I understand that many people don't mind, or may even prefer this?

I'd love to hear what some of you guys have to say about this.

I have the vapman lighter flipped, but the butane sprays all over the place when I insert the metal tip. For my dabbing torch, the butane works fine. I get a lil spraying. Do I need to use an adapter, one from the top of the cap of the butane can? I don't have much experience with lighters and do not like using them Because of maintenance?

I have a Newport can. White one. With different nozzles in the cap. I use the standard nozzle (so none of the cap) just stick my vapman lighter in it, turn it all upside down and press. I have to do it in two times, cos it stops filling when its half.

That's all I do, and all I know my friend.

It sounds like you just need to use an adapter off the can top.

yes, i think, this is the best solution. i once bought a can and tried every single adaptor with the same results as you - butane spraying all over the place with the lighter still empty and it was not the first time me refilling that lighter. something just didn't fit with the can, although it wasn't a cheap can. i bought a different brand and it worked like a charm. after that incident i never ever bought that particular brand again and i will always ask them to make the first refill in the shop, in case it's a brand new to me.

If you still have some gas in the lighter a good way to go 'shopping' for the right adapter is to one at a time press just the adapter into your lighter sealing the end where the can would fit with your thumb. Eliminate any that leak gas everywhere. Look for the one that 'burps' a tiny bit of gas trapped under your thumb when you back off (it opened the lighter valve and didn't leak).

Put that top on the gas supply and you should be good to go.

Also remember different brands/grades have different pressures. This can cause a problem on the first few fills. The pressure in the lighter has to be lower to fill. Once you've found the correct adapter, you might consider using it to relieve some of the remaining pressure......I've had this solve this problem.

I much prefer to use butane over a battery - I find it's just so much more convenient, particularly when I'm camping or at a festival. With butane you're not limited to the number of sessions you can have in the same way as you are with a battery powered vaporiser. Filling up your torch takes no time at all, and is required pretty infrequently.

The lack of battery also makes the Vapman really compact and pocketable - it's just so easy to carry around, and has very little weight to it.

I also enjoy the synergy and ritual of the heating process, that soon becomes second nature with the Vapman. You just don't get that with a battery vaporiser.

The hash isn't all spent untill it's brittle dust (not to be confused with ash), but the flavour goes way before that, so I scrape it off and dump it in the ABV jar, and every now and then I torch the screens.

Now I started to just dump screens in a little jar of ISO, so I can reclaim ALL ze goodies jaaaa

White/grey stains, leftovers of the hash no doubt. But even torching them thoroughly doesn't matter. It's crumbled dust that sticks very hard to the screen i think. Scraping isn't that succesfull either..

@McSheamus try cleaning while hot, if it's still really sticky then you should vape it a little longer it gets dryer and sticks less. as for the white spots I rub them off with a bit of cloth.

@M0J0 I prefer the simplicity. it's in the details of design, the simple elegance. So many battery vapes are awkward and they can break for, what is to most of us, some intangible reason. They have odd idiosyncracies which always catch you unawares. Battery vapes certainly have their place (as do plug-ins) but I think once you get over the initial change to vaping you begin to appreciate the designs which achieve more with less. Small companies, beautiful materials, stunning craft work. That's what make a great vape in my opinion, and why the VM is my personal fave.

Oh, I don't know about that......seems to me 'just vape a little longer, it'll fix the problem' gets me into trouble at least as often as it gets me out of it?

Still, 'clean it while hot' is good advice, here and in a good number of other vape situations.
