Hi JK, I'm guessing you've only just acquired the Vapman!? If so, stick with it! After a few tries you should start to get to grips with it - it will soon become second nature. I never think about my technique anymore.
If you find it too airy, a number of members have blocked up one or two of the air holes on the top piece with toothpicks/cocktail sticks - you may find that to be more to your liking. As far as avoiding combustion - I have the basic model - and as soon as I feel a flash of heat through the wood I know that it's probably ready for a toke, and don't heat it any longer - as far as advice goes that's a bit subjective I know, but it works for me. Good luck!
Anyway, I just popped by feeling a little excited over the fact that
we don't have long to wait now until the new concentrates/oil screens are ready (whoop-whoop!). A couple of weeks max and they should be ready to buy! I can't wait to see what they've come up with.
For those of you thinking of buying one of these amazing little vaporisers soon, you're in luck!
They're currently making a batch of YEW Vapmans - they're so going to look the dog's B!! There are some pics on FB of how they're getting on with them so far:
