Vapman

My little setup. The pinnacle water tool and mflb adapter work perfectly with the Vapman.

Vapman + Pinnacle Pro Water Tool = Jollity.

As it turns out the MFLB adapter is optional. The wooden stem of the Vapman fits directly into the PPr WT in a snug way.

Even the mouthpiece can stay in place, fitting easily up through the bottom opening of the WT.

The Vapman then also serves as a handy stand for the WT with the diameter of the outer wooden ring large enough in proportion to the WT's diameter to give stability and the Vapman's lower profile brings down the center of mass of the water tool, further increasing stability. In short, they stand together well, so well it's swell.

It's still easy to heat the herb chamber, just tilt the water tool over a bit.

The design of the WT allows it to be tilted quite some way without any liquid coming out, and while holding onto the water tool rather than the Vapman making it easier still.

The two together make a compact, neat and efficient water-conditioned and butane-driven vaporizer.

I'm not going to unplug the two from each other for a while.

As an aside, VBlunt sells the WT separately at a reasonable price.

Ahhh, so many possibilities given the simplicity and precise craftsmanship of the Vapman design.

I'm gonna give the pnwt a go when I get home fom work. I've been away working for a few days an it was nice to get back to my vapman (and e nano) last night.

This thing definitely pulls better clouds than the mflb.

Yep well the VM does fit in the bottom of the PNWT pretty well . The sholders of the 'stem' piece fits just in the outer edge of the 14mm joint, good find @utekai. They stand up pretty well together eh?

In later news after having a rather prolonged session I got complaisant and combusted. Damn. I torched it too long and as soon as I took a toke I got smoke. I must have been daydreaming. Well at least I know the things limits a little better now.

Mini review coming soon......

When I first got my Walnut Vapman, I initially preferred the Vaponic for its flavor and heat retention. But knowing how many glass vaponics I break I opted for the rugged Vapman for my World Cup line up, only as a back up. To cut a long story short it is now the only thing between me and 3weeks with just the PAX........it's handling the Brazilian Brick like a champ!
SO BEAUTIFUL......

So i wanted to get me a lotus (pipe-style) for an upcoming festival, but when i wanted to order it yesterday it was sold out...

--> just received a beautiful walnut vapman - less than 24h after placing the order (thanks @ verdampftnochmal.de)

i get why you all love the design and craftsmanship that goes into these vapes!

but i'm getting a pretty strong wood-taste (i do have the mica version)... i don't taste as much of my haze as i'd like too, i really hope that this goes away once it has seen a bit of use!

will be fun getting to know this little fellow and finding my sweet spot :D

good vibes to you all, have a nice weekend!

Can't edit anymore, so excuse the double post.

After the first day with the vapman i have to say i am disappointed with it's performance. I think it comes down to conduction vs. convection. With the vapman i can taste the terpene profile of a strain only for the first few hits, when the vapor starts to get thick the taste is already gone. I guess the lotus has spoiled me ;) with the lotus i get taste until the last draw.

Also i have a sore throat. Mainly because of the wood-charring fumes i inhaled. It took me two bowls to realise you should really do a couple of empty burn offs (i did about 20 and still was getting visible vapor/smoke from the upper part). But the airpath is also really short and i only enjoy the low temp hits that don't give visible vapor.

I prefer the lotus by far in terms of taste and vapor-quality. The lotus also has the advantage of heating while you draw, so there is way more control over the experience and it's a lot easier to hit the sweet spot. But i need to play a little more with the vapman to make a valid claim in this regard...

i guess i wish that the lotus and the vapman had a baby - it would be the perfect vaporizer and would bring us world peace :D

Congratulations on bagging yourself a Vapman @SoulCaptivesAreFree ! I've had my eye on a Walnut model for a while now - I'm green with envy! ;)

Stick with it dude! Before you know it you'll have gotten to know your Vapman inside out, & will be wondering how you managed before he came along! The woody taste does diminish with use.... but, if you're looking to further enhance the flavour you could always try switching stems to a glass MFLB one (?)

:2c: :peace: :)

Im finally getting serious about picking one of these...is that wood charring taste with all the units or is soul heating it for too long?

So I've been waiting to get a proper grasp of this vape (basic version) before passing my judgement. I've had it for about a month (I guess) and I'm really starting to enjoy it. I'm planning a mini review but am finding it hard to compile my thoughts, here is a few that I've had flying round my head.

Vapes for me all have a certain personality. The VM screams sensibility to me. It's made from easily tangible materials, not all surface mounted PCBs and spiders webs like some vapes. It lends itself to a process that reminds you it is a pipe, the detachment from the smoking experience is always going to be a difficult one but this helps you remember that the object and substance your using need respect. I find it more enjoyable than sucking on a lump of plastic.

This isn't a vape for pedantic flavour chasers or people who worry about the smaller things. It does give off some wood type flavour, have charring, and (if your me) combust more often than any other vape - Although on this last point it's worth noting I always vape to a very dark brown and after a month I think I've got it down.

The abv comes out very even without stirring. I'd go as far as saying the extraction is more thorough/even than my nano. Wow. Big statement I know.

I ditched the plasic stem in favour of a chopped down, tapered and waxed MFLB cherry stem. I tried a glass shorty and it's great but the look of the wood was too good. I'll sacrifice a little flavour for a piece this beautiful. I also sanded and oiled my basic with linseed oil. I left it for 2 days to dry before using but the aroma is still there, be warned oiling is great (not the inside where it chars) but will add a certain smell for a while. If you want only the taste of your herbs I think there are better vapes out there.

I actually don't mind using the VM in public. It's not stealth but I feel due to the design it seems less weird than a lot of vapes and this (in my neck of the woods) is more a problem than the fact your smoking weed. Most of the pubs etc I go to don't mind you skinning up so a subtle pipe is no problem, a big glass straw attached to a lump of plastic may be however.

Shoot i'm late for work, I may add some more to this later.

Gotta run! Peace and vapour.

Great post, solid observations and opinions IMO. Thanks. Looking forward to the full up version.

I agree on the taste issue. IMO it's just not possible to clean out the upper wood section, it's going to 'pick up taste' so if you change strains it's going to get confusing. However, I tend to keep a vial with it using the same strain for months and months until I get bored (currently running Kandy Kush, lovely stuff). Eventually the full flavor comes through.

I too have misgivings about the plastic stem. I usually use it, mostly because that's the way it's designed, but also have and use several of the exotic stems sold by the factory (very recommended for parts, units and custom parts......very fast shipping and good prices), my current favorite being Hawthorne. I mean, after you get past the 'hey, this is Pear wood' part (how many Pear wood things, other than firewood, do you know?) the Hawthorne seems 'right' to me.

BTW, I also enjoy the Ebony one, but not as much as I thought I would for whatever reason. Or should that be "....as I thought I wood...."?

Best regards,

Vapmans taste improves over time.. because.. wood gets oiled from condesation .. (mouthpiece too) and this oily film is kinda making an isolated path.. No evidence(i can think of) for that other than my jedi senses though..

Same observation and assumption here. We're either on to something, or both crazy.

Either is possible.

Or even likely some might say.....

More unedited and unordered thoughts from me....

The linseed oil I used to oil my VM as changed the smell of the VM quite considerably. I'm not going to use it again. I'm gonna look into some different oils but for now I'll just let it be, stuck a bit of purified beeswax on the outside and that may not be the right thing but it has given a very shiny finish.

The blocking of holes with toothpicks is not for me. I tried 1, 2 and three holes blocked, if anything I'd block only one although this seems to make it whistle. I'm happy using it as the manufacturer intended.

This unit is ideal for kif. Absolutely perfect match, had a pan (bowl?) last night and it was stunning.

It's very difficult to use in social situations, I find if I'm not concentrating on heating then I'm taking long draws. When with friends I have to sit out of the conversation for a min or two while i use the unit. Hopefully this will get better with time as I get used to altering the ritual slightly. Also when sharing with friends heating for them is annoying. Luckily most of my smoker friends mix with tobacco and don't really enjoy the high of pure weed (I can understand that, there really is something special about the combination of nicotine and thc, although I'm now a convert) so they generally aren't interested in my vapes beyond "ooo how does it work?".

It's a bit of an annoying shape. I need to find a little tin to store it in two pieces. I love the egg but there's no way your getting it in a jeans pocket.

I've been using a cheapo plastic jet lighter, branded 'dragon', and its been fine. It was £3 (i got two) and haven't had any troubles yet, touch wood.

Has anyone taken there's apart? how does the heating element and the three tubes come out? Was thinking of taking it apart to really get a good sand on the inside, not essential but I like to tinker and this vape feels as though its a good un for fiddling.

Peace!

AFAIK nobody has reported taking theirs apart. The draft tubes are swaged into the pan and could not doubt be easily damaged. They are held in by the 3 clamp blocks an their screws, but without an assembly fixture not damaging them would be a challenge I think. Any alignment error on the third leg would likely be fatal. I suggest you watch the video of them being made with close attention......and think carefully before touching the screws.

It is to be expected that Linseed oil (or any other useful finish) will seal the surface of the wood, that is, after all, the whole idea? A coat of wax, for instance, will make it smell like wax rather that what's under the wax.
