Every time I see one of these things, I ask myself, why in the hell would I want something attached to my face for any period of time? But then again, I never saw any benefit from using a handsfree whip versus a non-hands free whip. Guess it's because I like to wait 2 to 5 minutes, sometimes 10, between hits.

This is my first post on this site. I have NOT read the whole thread. I purchased a NO2 today and have a question..
I know how to replace the screen which is attached to the main unit..
But how do you actually change the screen that is on the mouthpiece or bowl section?
The instructions claim its easy. You just have to find a gap underneath the O ring and lift it up. This is not the case with my unit. I tried prying it apart where ever I could find a "gap" and it didn't open and I can't get to the screen.. I have not even used this vaporizor yet, its currently charging for the first time. But I have owned three Iolites and many other vaporizors and I KNOW the top will get dirty eventually.
Also if I can't change this filter, I would assume they sell replacement bowls on all the Vape websites? I bought many new bowls for my Iolites as time went on. Can anyone with experience help me out??

Alright folks, I just figured out the answer to my own question. The only thing the instructions should have mentioned is that I need PLIERS in order to twist of the cap holding down the screen.. My fingers just couldn't do it.

But funny story, I was taking everything apart for a cleaning and letting it dry out.. and I popped in some stuff to vape, but every time I went to draw, I would get a bunch of herb in my mouth. Then I realized I forgot to put the top screen piece back in!
The higher you go up on the temperature, the more vapor is produced, it seems. I've found that 180C is about perfect for me, but I like to fluctuate it up or down 10 degrees to keep it interesting.

Be gentle with pliers, and try your best to do it by hand. Firm grip ... don't use fingertips use side of finger.JBNY said:

tip: to re shape a new screen if it gets misshapen is easy with any small cylindrical object. Enjoy your NO2, I love mine, and I love giving tips on them (read back through this forum.)

Thanks Vitolo and Tim. Yeah I am being carefull with the pliers and maybe eventually I will be able to open it the way you showed. Thats a good picture btw. Also I am in New York, so I use Fahrenheit. I will start around 350 and work my way up.

As I said, I just got it today and have not used it yet (which sucks but I was away at band practice all night).
I had it charging for the first initial charge all night and I just came home. The battery icon is full and is not flashing, which I assumed meant it was fully charged and ready. But when I turn the heat on, the power immediately drops two bars so there are only two bars..
What is the problem here? Its been charging for nearly 6 hours and the full battery signal is only there when I am not running heat.
Did I not charge it enough? Will this change if I leave it over night? Or is the battery defective?
I am afraid to actually use it tonight even though I planned to, because I fear a let down in terms of running time with this half battery icon showing up like this.

Wow you have good eyes to see the lines! You leave the unit turned on (not cooking) just switched on for it to charge. You can not overcharge it. I use mine plugged in. I at least plug it in for the warmup. I vape plugged in too if I dont want to use the battery.JBNY said:
For the heat-green means it is at temperature. It will turn red for a second from time to time, it is the thermostat saying it dipped in temperature, and it will go green again.
The heatup uses the most energy. My lines drop immediately during heatup too, but once at temperature, the line starts to move up and down in a cycle 9 like a cell phones "charging' indicator). Go ahead and start that puppy up! (read the manual)

This is a Vaporizer Review Forum. We are in the NO2 section. I have given through this forum my honest and objective opinions of the NO2. I love it!
In the true spirit of objectivity, I now must give the down side I have found.
This is a good review with a dubious ending!
First, I have had the unit, and used it on a daily basis for a month and a half. I am disabled and I do stick the unit in my pocket, and bump things occasionally.( a joking image from Grass City of me with unit in pocket)
Tonight, when I was responding to JBNY's query, I went to look at my unit to verify that the power lines drop during heatup, and for the first time there was a "bug".
The unit was sitting plugged in with the switch in the off position. I looked, and the temperature indicator displayed the temperature! I touched the startup button ( units power turned off), and the unit started heating!
My on off switch is dead.
At least it died in the power on mode.
I did not buy my unit at an "Authorized distributer" ( as I spoke of earlier in this thread ) so I have no warranty. ( I paid 128 for my unit new.)
This causes just a small inconvenience. I do leave the unit plugged in all of the time anyway, until I am leaving.
It means I can not unplug the unit and shut the power off for travel.
So to keep enjoying this unit I must remove the battery to travel.
I wont ditch the unit... as with every vape I own, I have a years worth of replacement parts.
I may buy a used one on sale online to graverob the switch!
Now I know what the empty velcro strap in my custom hardshell case can be used for.... I had been wondering!

I may call Vapir, and try to finesse my way into a possible switch replacement without any warranty, though I don't harbor much hope.

*Love the unit. gives a great and full vape session, with some of the most economical use of herb I have seen. It uses a drop of herb.. some instances the least herb I have seen used.
The vapor is strong and thick and tasty.
God I hate moving parts
I hate switches, and plastic slidy things. Battery doors...
This is a great concept, not alltogether unlike the basis of the log vapes in that it is a convection chamber, using airflow through it.
I realize that to make this thing portable, they needed switches and indicators.
Did they have to make the switches like some portable flashlight?

My off switch is now that velcro loop you see in my NO2 case. Case closed.
Don't be disheartened by my words JBNY and Tim or anyone else. I think this unit is great and I still love using it.

Vitolo. I appreciate your fast responses. Yeah my eyes are still decent. I am 28 but I feel I need glasses already.. well for seeing distance.

I wrote an email to Vapir. I used one of my email accounts that has "return receipt" feature to show when an email has been opened. Glad that I did. I see that it has been forwarde 4 times.. maybe going up the chain. I sent the email from my Information service Arizona Vapor Trail, in an effort to influence their thinking. Since this is NOT a review, but a followup, I won't print my letter to them here. You can read it at A Letter to Vapir, in which I was polite.
I will let you know their response if any!

Vitolo, I was wondering if you would try using a targard on the vapir n02's mouthpiece to see if it gets you thick cooled vapor off of very small puffs. It is made to put the smoke in cigarettes through a few holes a clean it though centrifugal force but the way I see it is it also condenses the smoke or in this case vapor which means a more concentrated vapor but I don't know if it will fit onto the mouthpiece.
The holes will also allow more vapor extraction then a long, one huge hole, piece because they will give a Venturi effect but as far as it happening with the targard is all theory. I'm still wondering if I should get the vapir n02 or not because I need to hear more about this taste from other forums.
If you have a chance maybe you can try it out?

My wife has a box of tar gaurd ( the disposable ones) here from a Christmas gift!. Yes,,, it is a tight squeeze, but I can get it to work. Doesnt seem to improve the vapor though. The mouthpiece that comes with the unit does restrict the flow plenty though, and can be used on or off.luchiano said:

Please be aware, that there may be warranty issues revolving around which dealer you buy from. All websites show the standard "hype" in the specs, that includes the phrase "One Year Warranty -Standard"
and every box also says this on it.

I am not saying the Vapir NO2 doesnt work... it is great!

EDIT: I don't mean to bother you but I was wondering if you can try the targard again but use a more stronger draw than the slower type that is required and see if the targard helps the vapir n02 maintain the temperature and give good vapor even though the draw is harder?.

Heck luchiano.. I don't mind doing hits for you at all!. OK. The targard tip will give hits, but it is very restrictive. I can get vapes, but not a lungful. I am able only to use a sip technique filling only my checks, then inhaling the vapes (like puffing a hard to draw cigarette). It is a very tight squeeze on the NO2 tube, but the TarGaurd fit on the "extended" tube they sell for the MFLB, which I could force stretch onto the NO2.luchiano said:

Btw, I saw your thread about tom who started the log vaporizer craze and noticed on his site that he states he's not doing vaporizers no more unless you have a lot of money for them but he has a vaporizer called the new flash evaporator that is small, portable, and wireless. It hooks up to a base station and you can walk around with it without worrying about charging a battery!. If he gives a good asking price I would pick that thing up fast.
If he can get some good investors that vaporizer will sell a lot. I see he wants to sell the plans on how to build the omega heater for anyone wanting to make some money but I think the style will put a lot of people off even though it starts producing vape in 4 seconds. That wireless flash evaporator is the one that can get him some good money.

I've held off buying a Vapir NO2 for 2 reasons: 1. Because it's too long (20 cm/8 in., almost twice the length of the iolite). 2. When the rechargeable batteries need replacing (after about 6 months, I believe), they're expensive, and available only from Vapir or one of their few agents.
I love my iolite, but check out the soon-to-be-released 2nd gen. iolite, the Wispr. (Click on Google images and enter 'wispr'.)

BUT, you truly ought to be mentioning this in the Iolite thread, so that they too can get a peak at it!
As for battery on NO2, I have not had mine that long, but my case worker has had his for a little over a year, and battery is OK still.

An update on my Vapir NO2 repair situation.
I was contacted by Mr. Bartscheck of Vapir, and he has asked me to send in the unit for repair.
In his letter he did emphasize that this was not the usual policy, but in light of the enthusiasm I had shown for vaporizing in general, and the relatively "young age" of my NO2 unit, they would fix it.
This still does not clarify totally the ease with which one with no warranty can pay for a repair.
They were polite and professional when I called for help with shipping info.
They did say I should insure the unit, and that the return shipping with insurance would be at their expense.
There was no time to get the unit out by post office, so I went to UPS, and paid $12 to send it.
So one thing we do know.
Whether it is under a warranty condition or not, the very minimum you will pay for a repair is 10 -12 dollars.
I will post about the speed and quality of the repair done.
Later I will add further information about the general cost and access to repair on these units for those without warranty.

Secondly, for those that have moved the first (body) screen up so that less herb is able to sit in the bowl, have you tried "over flowing" the herb above the bowl and into the black bowl?
Actually, does anyone do this? I was only filling the brass bowl up until now, but if the upper part of the bowl gets the same heat and airflow, one would be able to pack larger bowls.

There is a diagram (post #771) a few posts back. This overfilling of the chamber causes less air flow, The top screen is meant to fit snugly against the chamber top (brass portion). If you want more in the chamber, leave the screen in the original position, as they recommend. raising the screen is for making the chamber even smaller, so by trying to overfill you are defeating the purpose ( besides it packing and reducing airflow)
I did try the placement as shown in the video though, and it mad use of even less then half of what normally goes in, which was already amazingly small!
