Nope. I think it's cruel to do it to an animal, even if he/she is a pet. It would be kinda the same thing as lacing someones cookies without them knowing it. But..........if they come over on their own and take in the vapor on their own and come back every once in awhile 'cause they like it, that's a different story.

My pets hate me vaping. They look at me with disgust. I think they catch the odd whisp though as they end up going over to Tweeks place for munchies.
To be truthful, when I was young and stupid (as apposed to old and stupid?), I did put my friends cat in a duffle bag once and super charged it full of smoke. The poor animal got soooo high, it ran around not knowing what to do. I don't think it was enjoyable for the cat at all so I would have to say it's not a good idea.

Yeah, I never do it intentionally....my cat just seems to like to hang around me when I am vaping. His nose always goes up in the air sniffing around when I am blowing clouds.

Pipes cats won't leave me alone. Always scratching at the door for more doritos...

I have a dog that usually looks at me in disgust while vaping, but on a few occasions when he had an injured leg and was in a lot of pain he would come over and put his nore right by my mouth while i was vaping on my porch

My old dog (had him for 15 years before he passed away this summer) never seemed to mind. (He never went far so guess was kinda' used to it )

My new dog seems to love coming to the shop and hanging out at my feet to and it doesn't bother them (it's probably a familiar smell ... comfortable as it reminds them of me ). My cats as well never seemed to mind ...

My sister's cat on the other hand (just passed away also ... after 16 years) ... always glared at my wife and I whenever we'd go over and would bite us or swipe at us if we got too close ... hiss etc ... not a real nice cat ... but still ... always took particular offense to us (just me after my wife stopped smoking it seems )

I read somewhere I this forum that ABV can actually kill pets due to it being carboxylated. If they eat meds then it is only slightly carboxylated due to oxidization and does very little to them. However I would be very careful vaping and storing ABV around pets especially cats.

I have two german shepherds mixes, which I love very much. Both of them have gotten into my abv before (2 separate occasions). At first I thought they had eaten poisonous mushrooms. They couldn't keep their balance or hold their pee, and were trembling like nothing ive seen before. I was so worried. But of course after about 6 or 7 hours they started to get normal again. My older dog Grover is actually quite fond of mj and will actually come up to me and start licking me constantly until I blow him some vapor if he hasn't had any in awhile. I KNOW he likes it . He gets all playful and rowdy and grabs his toys after a hit, its cute. My younger one doesn't like the vapor as much,he doesn't mind it. He's more of a beer drinker though . Definitely don't forcefully hotbox your pet with vapor, that is just cruel obviously. Let them decide for themselves I say.

I used to have rats, never realy intentionally vaped them out, but they lived in the same room where I vaped, and sometimes if I had them running loose in the room nd was vaping plenty I noticed some behaviour if a hit happened to be exhaled in the direction where a rart was walking around/exploring. seemed to make them a bit more active/walking around/playing(althpugh that last one could've been due to me being vaped, since at those moments I was teasing them with things like a piece of string with something on the end so I could drag it around the ground etc), their feet felt warmer if they were walking on my skin, an sometimes they were licking my fingers/hands a lot.
but I never really noticed they sought out to get vaped, neither duid I notice dislike or avoidance, so it may also be they never actually got high from the vapor since once it would've reached one of them it would've been diluted/dissipated.

what was funne though one time, I was drinking a beer, and some beer had spilt onto the outside of the can. so by me touching the can I got some beer on my fingers, and at least one of my rats really loved the taste of my fingers after that, fed her a couple of drops of beer from a finger and she loved it. but didn't give her more since I didn't want a drunk rat.

when i was younger we would blow smoke at my friends dog who didn't seem to mind. but most animals do not like it at all (based on their reactions) so I would never force it on them.

I remember getting a bumblebee "stoned" too. it was all groggy and tired because it was a cold fall night. so not sure if hte pot did anything for it or not lol.

One time my sister dog ate some veryveryveryveryDANK brownie crumbs on the floor, not much just what fell while i was getting my brownies out of the fridge all day. The dog is a 4 pound chi-wa-wa, for about 18 hours she was in a state of not knowing whats going on, not moving at all, except when someone finally got her attention she would jump real quick and act startled but then instantly go back to being in a totally rock-like-state. Well moral of the story is don't leave any crumbs on the floor where you dog may find them. The dog has been fine sense then.

Some pets don't seem to mind, but it definitely can have some poisonous properties as others have mentioned. Be careful, especially with edibles.

Altered state of consciousness might be fun for us humans(and yes,there is catnip/overripe fruit and elephants,although there is still a question where they do that completely deliberately),i really don't think the same applies to forcing it on our pets.
So pretty please in the name of all the creatures totally delivered to our mercies...

Depends. Some pets are very interested and enjoy it, however my one dog will just get up and leave the room if I start vaping. I find that cat's tend to enjoy it more than dogs. I let the animals choose, if they walk into the cloud I just exhaled then their amazing sense of smell clearly did not tell them it was a danger.

I was dogsitting for a friend a few months ago. Not really a 'direct' friend... More like a friend of a friend. I know the person and know they combust/partake/combust. Anyway, I was hanging out at the house, chilling... Vaping... Watching tv and as soon as I started hitting the mflb and blowing hits, the dogs came over and started 'chilling' too. I didn't forcefully blow it at them, more like just blew it their way. Needless to say, the dogs were my buddies every night after that. When I finally meet the owner on their return they told me the dogs always join them in the room during sessions. Even scratching on the door if they weren't in while the party started.

Animals don't react to pot the same way humans do. Unlike humans, marijuana can be toxic to some animals. Just Google "marijuana dog toxicity" and you'll find plenty of information on the subject.

I've got several friends, relatives, and customers in the veterinary services field here in SoCal. I can't tell you how many stories I've heard about people bring in their dog that has overdosed on pot.

Overdosed on pot, does that mean the pet literally ate someone's stash or an edible? Because I would be really surprised if an exhaled vapor hit could make a pet overdose on marijuana?

Yeah, im pretty sure its almost impossible to OD a dog with vapor, unless you were deliberately trying. It would take 25+hits(which would be cruel, and you shouldn't do). He would fall asleep before that. But the nature of edibles can get the dog so sedated he will stop breathing if he ate potent enough stuff. I guess it's good i didn't have medical grade herb, my dog wasn't to that point. He at about half a gram (ish) of wand hash from my SSV. He enjoys a vapor hit or two, though. After one or two he will stop asking, and resume whatever he was doing. I don't force it on him at all, he chooses it for himself.

My pets that I had from when they were very young, seemed to gravitate towards people that do partake ... probably because they relate the smell to me = comfort/safety. I never forced it on my pets, however, I'm sure at times they get the 2nd hand effects but those would be minor in comparison and as they were accustomed to it wouldn't be "scared" by it ... just rambling thoughts ....

I know none of my dogs have enjoyed being in the workshop when I'm playing music with friends though and they smoke too much (they don't enjoy the smoke fog anymore than people do) ... I can't stand it either ... and now that I'm a non-smoker for about 1.5 years now (both tobacco and cannabis) ... just vape cannabis now ... I can't stand the "leftover" smell of combustion that lingers for days ... (but I also refuse to make my friends stand outside to smoke when we're jamming ... there are so few places where smokers aren't ostracized these days I don't want to take the privilege of being able to smoke while jamming here away from them too ...)

My lil german shepard doesn't like the smell of vaping nor smoke. I blame this to a room mate who hot-boxed my house one day when she was a pup. I was not home at the time this occurred, she must have had a very bad high. My doberman is insanely in love with it. When Im outside with them and he smells it on me even before I take it out for a puff he is already at my lap smiling and wagging his tail for the first puffs to begin haha.

Its just a thing. Some pets don't seem to mind. Thats not a far-fetched claim. I'm with you on the danger of this though.

Its not a bad assumption to guess that a pet that keeps trying to get in you vapor actually likes being high. Its a bad assumption that this is as or less harmful then it is to us because it is in fact far more dangerous.

Would you medicate a retarded 3 year old if they "seemed" to like it? Because thats about the intelligence of most dogs, which will drink beer until they pass out or die and/or eat just about anything including ABV. Cats of course are another matter altogether as they are highly intelligent and discriminant They look at my stuff, sniff it, but leave it alone.
