I have been following this with great interest, as many are. I have been wondering lately if I will actually buy it, and if I do- what glass should I get?
What's better- the showerdome or that first tree one?
If I do get this, I am not sure how it fits in. I have the Q which I use whip style with my glass. So if I get a Cloud will it make my Q obsolete? I love my Q, and in my bedroom I have the PD. PD will always live in my bedroom.
I am really not sure. I mean, of course I want one, but do I need it more than say, some more nice glass?
Thats a good question to ask and Im probably not the best person to answer since I may be a bit biased but since I do own an Extreme and am one of the only few people to have tried the Cloud, there are definitely some differences you should be aware of.
I do think that the Extreme is a much more flexible, versatile vaporizer than the Cloud. It has a digital display, remote control, does whips, and balloons. Pretty much whatever your vaping style, the Extreme has a mode that would satisfy you.
The Cloud on the other hand was designed from the ground up to be one thing, your glass collections best friend. The methodology we took when designing the Cloud was to take all the best elements of the vaporizers that I currently own or have owned, and implement them into the Cloud for the sole purpose of creating the cleanest, thickest, moisture conditioned vapor possible.
There may be other vaporizers that are easier to use, more versatile, or more portable than the Cloud, but if your sole purpose is to get a water pipe based vaporizer that can handle the inhalation style of any user, then I can honestly say that no vaporizer can compete with the Cloud in this category. I have purchased pretty much all the major vaporizers on the market and if there was one that I felt performed better than the Cloud in this area, I would tell PowerNerd that this is unacceptable and that we had to go back to the drawing board.
Were about 6 months past our initial launch and while I understand it has been frustrating to hear about delay after delay but I can assure you that each delay made our machine that much better. I know I probably sound like a shill right now but I am 100% confident that I can make these claims about the performance of the Cloud based on the results of several focus groups that we have held.
Will the Cloud make your Q obsolete? No, you can still use it in whip mode and balloon mode. Will it make it obsolete when using it with glass? We havent met a user that preferred any other vaporizer over the Cloud for glass use thus far. Im 1000% confident than you can take any other vaporizer, put the same amount of medicine in it, hook it up to a waterpipe, take some vapor hits and it wont be able to hang with Cloud in terms of taste and thickness of vapor. Afterwards, you can dump out the ABV and I am equally confident that ours wont be any darker in order to achieve this thicker vapor. It might seem like a simple design, but we have spent countless hours fine tuning different aspects of the Cloud so that it would extract the actives out of your meds more efficiently and that you would never have to use breath control in order to get thick vapor.
If you are a high end glass head like me, I cant think of any reason why you wouldnt get the Cloud to compliment your glass collection. As for which is better, the ShowerDome or the HydraTree, it all depends if you want something that purrs and is virtually drag free, go with the HydraTree. If you like a little drag and a tube that rumbles a little, the ShowerDome should be your choice.
Hope this helps!
