Johndeere- I believe that SM55 and crew are checking out a few different types of insulation, which is one of the last kinks to be worked out before launch.

That's not the most impressive Cloud vid IMO. That would be the heat retention demo. But this one shows a vape that's quite close to the finished product, and everyone can see the size and how it's used. The anticipation continues to build.

Aerogel is cool stuff and it fits with the "cloud" theme, but I've read that although it is a good thermal insulator, it will shatter under pressure. Would be the coolest thing ever, though, if you made a molded aerogel "cloud" (perhaps sealed in glass/pyrex?) that wraps around the outside of the unit for handling and it could provide additional support for the hydratube as well.

@Stonemonkey55 Just curious since you have an engineer on the team; have you measured the height of centre of gravity? On a slightly more arcane note, have you measured how much force is applied before it can tip over?

Just curious, and yeah I am an ubre geek.

thanks for any info

I've wondered about this as well. I'd like to know how much force (or to what degree) is applied before the center glass brakes.

To all the folks with the technical questions, PowerNerd3000 is out somewhere romantic proposing to his girlfriend so we will have to wait until he gets back to get you guys some technical answers.

@Thulium - we are no longer using Aerogel, it just didn't work for this application properly. Still, really cool stuff.

@tdavie - not sure exactly where the center of gravity is... but due to the fact we wanted the Cloud to be reasonably sized, it will get knocked over if say, your dog runs into a table. The CloudStation that doubles as HydraTube stand and docking station for the Cloud will alleviate any balance issues when you want to use it on a table top instead of holding it in your hands like in the video SM55 posted on page 24.

@aero18 - I don't know what kind of measure of force we would use to calculate this but if you have used any RooR (or any other quality glass water tool) bong, the glass we use is similar, high quality, borosilicate. The stuff is strong by glass standards but at the end of the day, it is still glass. Let's put it this way, under normal use, you won't have any problems. If you want to be like Randy "Macho Man" Savage and "snap into a Slim Jim" with the Cloud, then yeah, it's gonna break.

(Update from the Robot)

Fellow Vaporists!

Welcome to the first email from the VapeXhale Team! For those of you that have pre-ordered a Cloud, this is NOT the notification email. You will receive a SEPARATE notification email when we are closer to launch.

There are two primary points in this weeks email

*General update
*Pricing

General:

We spent a great deal of time nailing down other elements of the business. Specifically:

We have set up the e-commerce engine behind the website so that when we turn it on (it is still hidden) we can process credit cards through a legitimate banking clearing house. It will also be secured using some PCA-compliant technology (e.g., VeriSign).
We trademarked Vapexhale Cloud, VapeXhale HydraTube, and CloudStation. This, I have to tell you was far more laborious than I thought it was going to be. I am not a big fan of lawyers. Even my own.
And speaking of not liking lawyers, we also worked through the verbiage of the warranty and terms of use. I know, snooze-fest. But it needed to be done.

On to the good stuff

Pricing:

SM55, PN3K, and I have spent a great deal of time discussing this. Before I give the number, some context is in order.

An awful lot has changed since we began this effort. Not the least of which is that our B.O.M. (Bill of Materials) cost has gone up considerably almost doubled our original target in fact.

That said, we cannot and will not price ourselves out of consideration. So what weve decided to do is grit our collective teeth and be happy knowing that weve made a unique and superior product.

Our hope is that once The Cloud gets into peoples hands and they see how great it is well make up the back end on volume. A gamble, yes. But all business are to one degree or another.

So without further ado, heres what we are charging for the first 1,000 units (pricing after the first 1,000 units have not been determined):

Package A: $349 for 1 VapeXhale Cloud + StoneGlassWorks ShowerDome
Package B: $349 for VapeXhale Cloud + VertigoGlass HydraTree
Package C: $429 for VapeXhale Cloud + Sovereignty Gridded HydraTree

In case you haven't pre-ordered, you can do so here - http://vapexhale.com/index.php?option=com_ckforms&view=ckforms&id=1&Itemid=21

I hope youll recognize the value of the packaging in question. Some of the other water tools these artists create can go for $300+ alone. The short version is this: we want your business and were doing everything we can to earn it.

Regards,

Robot

I cannot wait for that notification email.

Does the cloud station come with the package? What is the warranty period (my skimming eye is failing me, cannot find that anywhere)?

350 isn't bad at all. I'll drop 430 without blinking as well. I have over that into heatwands and slides alone allready.

Quick question though. Are the hydratubes going to have the artists logo on it?? I love all three of the logos and wouldn't mind seeing them on hydratubes.

I agree the price is right.

However, I would like my SWG Showerdome without a logo as it is in the pics if possible...Personally I prefer clean glass with no logos (discrete firebrands like on my hvy minibeaker are alright), more scientific/medical device looking.

Vgs logo is just so friggin classy. Same with SG. I've always love sgw's too because Preston gets crazy with the placement. Like on the back of a disc on monkeys samurai bub. Or right at the mouth piece on my gridded inverted showerhead. His are never big and gaudy. All three guys are known for making sone of the cleanest glass around. And wouldn't ruin that with a bad logo. Some times lable placement is a really cool accent. Like on some of the SG king bubs, they have a logo on the downstem of the perk and it looks really sick milked up. I dunno Though to each their own. I'm all for logos

Yo man that's how almost all high end glass is. At least in tube companies. I don't mean to hate but SGW, VG, and SG are all higher quality brands than HVY.

The price is so sick though. Damn, I can't even believe what you just posted Vapexhale. :D:D I can't wait for this to come out.
I think I'm gonna vape through all my eaarl rigs too they should provide a great hit for vapor, nice 3 hole diffy. Change it up from the VG Hydratube every now and then. Plus I can't wait to see some of the hydratubes that SM can come up with. Pillars will be just the beginning I bet :brow:

Which will produce a less airy hit, the showerdome or the hydratree? I like the denser vapor.

Yeah these glass blowers are a little more high end than hvy. If you think that's high end your in for a treat with the hydra tubes though. My set has two small logos which don't look bad IMO. Vg logos are sandblasted on and look real good as well. SG has a super classy script logo as well. I think if their proud enough to put their logo on their I'm happy to endorse them.

My SGW gridded inverted showerhead set for reference:

Better check your sarcasm meter fellas, I don't need a fucking glass lesson from you tools...I was simply stating my preference.
Ya, I'm a douchebag, arrogant glass collector, my bad. In fact, just lump us all together, everyone who knows about glass is just a know it all prick eh. Don't take it personal it's just the internet.

..... and you tools find a way to turn it around about your own glass...i hope it all breaks in an earthquake.
Wow, JD. Cool your jets here. Nothin' wrong with guys taking pride in the glass they own. Calling people tools and then saying that you hope that all their glass breaks in an earthquake is a personal attack that imho, is wayyyyy over the top and out of proportion to anything that has been said here. You don't want logos, others do and the ones that do put value on those logos.

The fact is, is that HVY occupies the lower spectrum of the name brand glass market and for someone to go on a personal attack on those that are just stating that fact, is, well.........not justified, by any stretch of the imagination.

Maybe just take a few steps back and vape a bowl, eh?

(I know, kinda odd this is comin' from me, eh, considering that the ONLY piece of glass that I own is a HVY)

A: This is a thread about the Cloud, not about teaching others what you think they don't know about your glass preferences with the assumption that they don't already know. If there isn't already one you guys should go start that thread.

I agree with lwien and minnesnowta about the SGW logo placement...all three logos are 'classy' as you said.

Very reasonable prices as well. :o

John, you keep this shit up and I'm afraid that your days may be numbered here. Just a bit of advice, that's all. I'm suggesting that you just cool your jets, and you come back with "chest pounding dick measuring" comment. I wasn't being condescending at all. Just trying to offer up a bit of good advice. Take it as will.

But yeah, back to the Cloud. What a unique vape. Different than anything that is currently available. Can't wait to hear the reviews that are just around the corner. Pricing seems to be right on target and hitting the pricing sweet spot.

I'm very impressed with the pricing for the introductory /early adopter crowd. It seems as if picking up additional hydratubes will be affordable as well.

The cloud station might be a good option as well.
