Gridding isn't better, just different. I think I will probably prefer the non gridded stuff for a vape actually but we'll see.
ummm your wrong there. Gridding IMO is better because it makes a finer bubble whichs is going to be a smoother hit. Your trying to get as much surface area to touch water as possible. And I know there's a difference because I have a gridded inverted showerhead, gridded showerhead ac/bubbler and a non gridded showerhead as well.
Sm55 is it possible for me to put down the gridded and if you guys don't have one for me I just get the unit by itself??? If so I'll have an order in tonight.
No, you are wrong, you just don't know why. You are assuming everyone wants that type of hit. In the world of glass it is personal preference. Some like gridded holes because of the reasons you said, and others like non gridded holes because they don't want as diffused of a hit. And with vapor you don't need that diffused of a hit as it is vaporized product and not combusted, hence there are not as many irritants caused by temperature or chemicals.
So you are wrong only because you assume everyone wants the most diffused hit possible. It's not all about how smooth it is, there are plenty of other factors such as drag, how airy the hit is, how the pull feels, how flavorful the hit is etc. etc. Sure the grids provide the most diffused hit as the surface area is much higher, but they may not excel in other areas, and in other areas it is simply personal preference. I would have said exactly what you just said 5 months ago but after spending lots of time on GD I realize gridding isn't always the best for all applications.
Gridded holes definitely have a different feel to them when pulling, as opposed to d cuts, punctured holes, or open ends. I can't say I like or dislike it because I haven't tried enough (imo) variations of gridding and other diffusion methods.
