Vapes in hotels

I went on a little 2 day trip and stayed at a nice hotel. I've stayed there before several times. This was the first time I had to sign that I wouldn't use medical marijuana in the room, it has said no illegal drugs in the past. It had never included medical marijuana though. This happens to be a casino and people are smoking like chimneys everywhere, except in designated rooms.

I had a non smoking room, but in the past when I would combust I would get a smoking room and use incense and a lit cigarette to help mask the smell. This time I used my vaporizer and had a oil diffuser going, I didn't have any problems. I didn't like having to sign that I wouldn't use medical marijuana but I did. I understand the oder factor with smoking cannabis. Most folks aren't familiar with vaporizers unfortunately. I live in a legal state for cannabis and hotels can choose to allow that or not.

Hopefully some hotels in Seattle will allow at least vaping in some of their hotels or they won't get the cannabis tourists. Where are they going to try out their product that they bought? You can't use cannabis in public is the law, but folks do anyway. I used my vaporizers while walking on the beach, nobody noticed anything, for you folks wanting to come to WA.

That's interesting. I travel frequently for business and I've never come across a document of any kind with the mention of medical marijuana. That said, I always get a non smoking room as I can't stand the smell of stale cigarette smoke. I also vape in the room all the time. I've found that after about 20 minutes I cannot smell anything at all. I stay in very nice hotels and have never had a problem. Combustion creates thick smoke with a smell that tends to linger for a long time while vaporization creates very little smell and tends to disappear very quickly. I wouldn't be concerned too much if I were you.

I wouldn't have worried so much, if I didn't have to sign the document. This was the first time I've seen this anywhere. It was no problem at all in fact. My vape only smells when heating up. I could have been a bit paranoid and over did it. I had a window that only had a crack opening.

Out and about walking around outside I felt very free to vape with no paranoia feelings.

Yeah, for my business trips I usually stay in four or five star hotels e.g. Four Seasons, Ritz Carlton..( thanks to a generous expense account ). Depending on floor and location many of the hotels I've stayed at have had floor to ceiling windows which you obviously can't open at all. Still no problem! When I first started, I suppose I was a little paranoid as well, but I don't even think about it anymore.

Oh man we would combust and hot box Vegas hotel rooms for days. People on the tobacco smoke laden CASINO FLOOR would stop and be like "do you smell weed?" when we walked by. It was that pungent. I had hotel staff laugh as they walked past our room as we were leaving.

Never an issue. God I love vegas.

Sounds like the same situation as Colorado. It's legal, but tourist have no legal place to consume it, since clubs are kind of quasi-legal. Most hotels are chains these days like everything else, and their corporate handlers just don't want any smoking at all. You can find a few shit hole hotels with smoking rooms, but why should we have to smell and sleep in that stench?

I have dabbed in many hotels "illegally" while in a legal state and have had no problems. I have had some nice experiences with pot-friendly hotels though. NORML Con 2011 was at the Hilton in Denver and they made the entire ENTIRE 5th floor a smoking floor for cannabis, and even had a suite hosted by weedmaps that you could go and chill in and they would dab you down. Anytime you used the elevator it just reeked of weed, but it didn't seem to bother the nice Mother and her younger child that rode the elevator with me. Kind of crazy since that is a high class hotel, and it was sort of a weed free-for-all that week!

This last April, the Doubletree in Stapleton had a tent outside for smoking Cannabis in, but there was not enough seats to my liking, and the heat sucked, so I just used my non-smoking room instead.

I have vaped and dabbed quite religiously in hotels and never a problem. I always crack a window if possible, and have some nice citrus spray for when I leave. Of course, you're always risking that $300 "cleaning fee". This is why people flock to edibles in Colorado, and get way too stoned because of the delayed onset and the issue of proper dosing. But hey, you can eat edibles and drink tinctures all day in your hotel room.

Hopefully soon people will treat Cannabis like Alcohol, meaning you can consume it in a public social setting like a bar. The anti-cannabis hysteria just drives me nuts. Colorado has one of the largest Alcohol related deaths of any state in the union. 1 out of every 7 deaths are alcohol related and they freak out about some Cannabis use?

I wish common sense was... more common.

I have brought my portables to hotels. I use a smoke buddy to diffuse the vapor into. This in a non-smoking room....

If you are really worried about the smell you can go into the bathroom and use the exhaust fan. A spray of Ozium for the final touch if you must.....

I have used a dbv in a hotel room for high school hockey state, we put a wet towel by the door and still people could smell in the hallway. We had a lot of bud laying around though!!

Shouldn't be an issue with vaping, but to be safe( & only while vaping ), I put the ceiling smoke alarm inside two plastic bags and secure with a thick elastic band at the base.

In this one place, I disconnected the smoke alarm before combusting some very powerful white widow, 45 mins later I had a group of fireman pounding at the door saying the circuit had been broken in my block, but they couldn't identify the exact room....& me high as a mofo trying to deal with them.

I think you can get in more trouble messing with their smoke detectors than consuming cannabis. Disabling a smoke detector might actually be a criminal offense

Disabling a smoke detector ...while it might sound very dramatic and dangerous to some, it involves nothing more than covering the intake vent on the alarm for the 30mins it takes to have a vape & smell to clear, on what planet could someone get busted for this? ...on the other hand setting off that alarm, that's going to bring the hotel staff running & the first thing they smell is?.

some peeps eyes must be painted on....

That's the only way to do it. Regardless of the type of detector (light or chemical), it takes a very concentrated cloud of vapor (much less dense than smoke) to set it off.

Cliffs notes: don't blow dragon clouds from your dab rig directly onto a smoke detector.

Last time i was in a hospital(sorta a very expensive hotel) for tests I was warned That the rest rooms not only had smoke detectors but also "Open Flame" alarms, True or not my palm 2.0 set off neither of them.

I vaped in my bed watchin' TV anyways no reason to hide in the bathroom when your alone in a room.
