I have had customers in the past say their duty charges are much higher with fedex/UPS just so you’re aware. The shipping may be cheaper but added fees on the end
Yes, UPS is notorious for tacking on an extra, not at all cheap, fee at the border. The person receiving the package pays this. For US to Canada shipments, USPS is the way to go.

None of the new Canadian tariffs cover:

Aluminum
Titanium
Quartz
Gemstone

Some wooden products are in the tariffs, but account for less than $10 of the overall cost of the kit and are a different HS code.

In fact, from what I see on the list, none of the products included in the kit use the HS codes listed on the new tariffs.

Additionally, these products are from China. When you fill out the customs form, you fill out the origin country, not the country shipping to you. My products do not qualify as made in the USA, so I don't think any of these new tariffs apply in the first place.

To confirm my statements, visit the Canadian Gov website regarding these tariffs here.
Oh my gosh. Thank you! I had no idea. I even looked up on the Canadian gov site and I thought for sure it would be included. I’m so confused by this whole mess honestly. It’s so far above my head.

I am most likely catastrophizing about things I don’t really understand. I have mostly used usps for that in the past with no issue. I just don’t know anymore

You should always avoid UPS and FedEx for international shipping.
Their handling fees are very expensive.
You should favor USPS and DHL.

Important to note that First Class International leaves you less options in terms of claims as soon as it leaves the US

I hate to be flip floppy but I will email again about shipping. If the USPS is operating as normal and what I’m reading is BS then of course I’d want to save some money.

Is first class international a part of USPS? It goes to Canada post once it crosses the border and they have been good to me in the past with that.
