Ok, so I know underdog kind of took over where Aromazap left off. I have two questions; first is my stems are about 8 years old and are def in need of replacement. Would any of the UD stems works on my log? Also as it's gotten up in years my zap seems to have a bit of trouble getting to the temp I like. Would one of the adjustable power supplies be ok for my zap or would it be to much for the old boy?
I plan on upgrading to a new UD during the birthday sale I love the old zap but you can't beat the heat up time on the UD compared to this dinosaur lol
Hi
@sharkvszombie299 - If your Zap is an older vintage, then our stainless tipped stems would not fit, but our glass stems would. The glass stems require more heat though, due to the larger bowl size. If your Zap is getting cooler, it sounds like it's starting to fail. In the short term, you could compensate by running your vape at a higher voltage, but that won't work for long as it sounds like the resistor is failing.
If you want to run at a higher voltage, the easiest solution would be to find a 15v power supply and then use a dimmer, such as our Travel Size VVPS, or a 12-24v LED Dimmer, easily found on Amazon. The adjustable power supply doesn't output more than 12v, so it wouldn't give you more heat.
As far as repairs, a rebuild with a new body and refurbishing/updating the core is currently $149, or a repair of just redoing the insides (if the body isn't charred out), is $60.
The only thing with that is we won't be available to do repairs until winter/early next year. So don't toss that old Zap. We can definitely do something with it when the time comes.
