You could also try putting it in the fridge for a half hour to pull it out. Metal and glass shrink a tiny bit when cold.

IMO, just got yourself a kind of drill bit adequate in width and drill the hell out of that downstem.
It's impossible to damage the tube right?? It can be done with a long screwdriver as well. Just poke and wiggle the broken downstem till it smash to pieces, it's just glass. Or do the boiling sudden freezing thing. If that don't broke the glass in little pieces that you can rinse afterwards, please give me the phone of the downstem blower, because, that will be a tough quality boro glass

I love posting here and seeing all the creative solutions people come up with!
So I ended up buying a new downstem...still having to get the old one out.
This is what I did.
I took the SC and leaned it upside down against a space heater for 30 minutes (it was REALLY hot).

Wrapped a large rubber band around the thin end several times. Placed it inside and pressed against the side while pulling towards me and it popped out after a few good tugs. The rest of the downstem intact no broken glass

reading the whole thread made me want to want one. factor in two cats running and jumping around like berserkers from time to time and all the dreams about elaborated glass with different styles of percs are an illusion anyway.
where do i choose the color options actually? also, on the page the tube is pictured with a steel mouthpiece what doesn't seem to be the case anymore. in the pictures of the new, colored version the rim of the mouthpiece seems to be colored, but how is it possible, if it's one piece molding? or is it just a reflection of the colors of the base?
i saw, that you were brewing kölsch back in time. what an interesting choice. most people find the taste a little too "soft" for a beer. but they are tourists anyway

The Kolsch was pretty good, my favorite thing to brew was def. stout. But drinking a Kolsch, maybe i'm just a "soft" guy 
Currently the colors we have are silver, black and copper. You can use the contact form on the steeleconcept website and we will get an order going via PayPal. The new TT website is still under construction and pretty soon the SC stuff will be over there to order.
EDIT: OH yeah the top mouthpiece isn't colored, it is just a reflection.

ya'll should make a vape adapter for your tube pieces. I have been using surgical tubing on a solo to hold the liquid freeze unit in place. Just make a screw on attachment, then I can use the perc tubes, the ice catcher tubes... basically all tubes for a vape/..;

kölsch is fine. i was just surprised, that such a regional specialty is apreciated so far away from it's origins. you can not even buy it everywhere in germany.
i couldn't find any information on the shipping cost to europe/germany. does transformer tubes actually have a distributor in europe?

Kolsch is pretty popular in some home-brew books so that is why I whipped it up. I don't think I had had Kolsch prior to that.
TT has some dealers in Europe, I would think shipping would probably be around $30-$40 for a single unit if they were to ship overseas. I'm a little confused though, your signature says you are in Cali?

it's a wordplay. Kölsch is traditionaly brewed in Cologne(Köln). Cologne's name in the local dialect is Kölle, so a hip-hop band coined the name Köllefornia because of the easy going attitude of people around here in analogy to Californa.

That's a great question axakal. When I originally started this venture the "hot" thing was petite ~12" tubes for vaporization. Trends on this forum were geared toward hooking up log vapes like the Purple Days or Rock Zap to glass tubes... Time went on and things like the Cloud, LSV, Pax, Sublimator and many other innovative things dropped. People on this forum started hooking up vapes more to bubs and those glass things that fit over the Cloud (I forget the name of those). Basically the glass game got smaller, speaking in trends. Not a bad thing, it's pretty cool actually!
Long story short I tailored the SC around log vaporizers and other direct draw devices like the LSV. Transformer Tubes now handles production of SC and I have mentioned a bubbler type device. Something like that will cost a good deal of money for additional moulds to be made for injection molding and it is something to be considered in the future for sure.
I still take some TT/SC orders when customers ring me up but I have a new full time job in web design sales, that is why I have been a little inactive in this thread as of late. TT wasn't quite ready for a full time sales guy but I got some great new accounts and they are doing a good job scaling the TT/SC stuff.
Who knows what the future holds? As TT makes more money, additional product lines are certainly an option. I just ordered
