Hi guys,

I have been a member/lurker here for around 2 years and have owned multiple vaporizers. I recently have developed an indestructible designer water pipe that was engineered from the ground up to be the ideal vapor tool. There is nothing else like this on the market and I believe it will shake up the industry!

It is constructed entirely of FDA approved materials including: 304 Stainless Steel, Polycarbonate and 304 Stainless Steel cubes filled with glycerin and purified water.

My product will be launched at Hempfest 2012 in Seattle at the Glass Blowers Direct booth. We will have an ad in High Times December 2012 issue. There may even be a product review coming up in High Times of the Steele Concept.

I think that's polycarbonate not glass, and the downstem ... looks to be a glass one actually. But it's probably removable and replaceable like with any non-fixed downstem bong.

Edit: I've always wondered this but I've never done the research ... is Polycarbonate a safe material to use? I know one concern with using plastic bongs is that smoke will interact with the plastic and may pollute the inhaled gas with unwanted chemicals.

Yep. Simply stick the cubes in the fridge for a half hour or so. The liquid will gel and the cubes stay real cold for a long time. The vapor is propelled around the cubes and is extremely smooth.

The GonG is 19 to 14 mm low pro downstem with a 14 mm bowl. I selected it specifically because of the sleek looking low profile

The tube you see is FDA approved polycarbonate and highly heat resistant. There are no health issues that I am aware of after my extensive research.

The down stem and bowl are borosilicate glass.

The total weight is 3.01 pounds with nearly all the weight in the base. It is pretty difficult to even tip over.

By the way it is the type of device that you actually have to use before you believe. I could go on all day with that marketing blablabla. But until you see how a 12" unit performs compared to excessively percolated tubes, it's hard to contemplate.

I've had 10 people try it so far and all were very surprised with the smoothness. Let's just say a lot of smiles were had that day.

I don't know if I'd necessarily say this would make a good travel piece... it's 3lbs, a foot tall, and also $400 ($350 for us FC'ers that preorder on said dates). The toughness it seems to have, however, would be an awesome attribute for a traveling piece of course. I really do dig the design, but I just don't know if I could justify the $$$ for this. Man it sure looks cool, though.

@quentin123 for the general public, no. For FC guys, sure If you want bulk, your wish is a PM away. Alternatively you can get 4 for $21 on Amazon (type steel ice cubes) or get the n'Ice from Brookstone, also reasonably priced.

I definitely wouldn't recommend these cubes in glass, as they'd end up smashing glass ice catchers.

@Peloton I think it'd be great for travel to toss in a car as it can take a whoopin'. Or to toss in a backpack to bring to buddies. In terms of portability it is a water pipe so it's not going to have the convenience of a MFLB or a regular pipe or something.

I acknowledge it is an expensive piece. It costs me a ton to manufacture as my machinist and his son do all the work by hand and I pay them more than they asked for because the craftsmanship is superb. From Connecticut with love, baby! In the future economies of scale could drop my manufacturing cost and I could drop the cost for all you guys.

But you bring up a valid point. Fuck $399.99 for the coolest cats on the interwebs. I'm not a greedy dude and this forum is by far my favorite one.

I do like your idea, but I too have problems justifying such a high price tag. I mean, I could buy 7 or 8 Ehle's including a diffused downstem each for that kinda cash. & I don't think I'll life long enough to break 7 Ehle's to be honest.

As I said, I like the idea, but I don't think it should cost more than 2 or 3 times than the breakable original.

Good luck on your endeavors though, I'll keep an eye on this.

Hey Steele, great concept... I wish you would have thrown your idea out 2 years ago before you started development just for feedback. Personally i'd prefer a dewaar style joint 18mm, and it's hard for me to buy something that I can't see through for ease of cleaning. I'm sure there is indeed a niche you will fill for those on the go, but i'm just not a fan of polycarbonate.

Oh yeah, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! You're only 25? Looks like a great business venture for you, kudos at such a young age.

Möbius stereo matrix is dope. Or if your a boss, the sovereignty peyote pillar perc lol, That thing is unreal.

Unfortunately at the end of the day glass is glass and can break. The Steele Concept intentionally avoids excessive Percs and such. What I wanted was a simple aesthetic and a simple function that never breaks. People are amazed by the smoothness when they hit the Steele Concept and you can't really understand until you have ripped her.

The cubes are no gimmick fellas.

Now that I have completed units I definitely gotta show the diffusion capabilities and maximum rips one can take on the Steele. Action shots are coming soon all! Maybe later tonight or tomorrow I can shoot some videos for your pleasure.

$400 for a lifelong unit is certainly reasonable and if I can get economy of scale up it might be possible to do 300 a unit. But these are hand machined and welded American beasts. It's the type of thing where you beat your cheast like a gorilla and throw your Steele concept at a weaker species

Because the product is so different I expect tons of criticism. Especially on good ol FC.

You make some great points, and at $300 (or $200 for FC'ers lol) i'd maybe reconsider based on what information i'd find on the poly/heat. Lifelong is a really good point, and I imagine that there would be "less" condensation on SS? Is that correct?
One of the things that appeals to me is the fact that it doesn't have excessive diffusion. I prefer the least amount possible to keep as many actives with still the benefit of vapour through water.

I really respect you for coming on here with your product and accepting all the criticisms and feedback, and will definitely help spread the word for you.

Wow, that is a pretty generous offer! Especially coming down all the way from $400. I personally can't afford it (saving for VXC) but i'm pretty sure some members will pounce on this. I am looking forward to some videos though. I would love to support you but I only use glass at home and am extremely careful so don't really require a use for this, and am waiting patiently for PV to release the FC bubbler for vapour!

Hey Steve/Ryan, thanks for those vids! Ouch, that truely was painful seeing you break the Roor! lol I did notice that something did break on the steele concept, or was that the glass downstem flying and breaking?

You have switched your pricing around a little, so maybe never say never. First $50 discount, then $100, and now $150, but then it will only be $50? I'm having trouble following, but I suppose it's because it's a limited time special, and the FC discount will be $50 correct? According to your original post, you were going to offer FC a $50 discount, but that was limited, so $400 after that. Now it's $350 after the limited time? Is that right?

Heh the Steele Concept in that video got dropped about 10 times and was still fine. The polycarbonate piece popped out because we were using a poor sealant. Other than that it was fine and just resealed later with a better sealant. No significant damage was done to the unit, just some scuff marks on the bottom.

Our sealant now is an ultra hard FDA approved waterproof high temp sealant. I pulled very hard and we tried tugging and twisting and it is an extremely strong bond that doesn't break.

That's the name of the type of down stem. The longer joint stem was chosen for the aethestics and when a log vape or other is placed on the GonG it will be far enough away from the unit. When I was designing it, people tended to like the joint stem to be about the same height as the tube.

After discussion with suppliers and dealers the final regular price has been secured. Once again I apologize for the movement but this is the launch week and shit has been crazy. I've spoken with a large number of people a LOT has changed.

Thankfully I was able to take down the regular price. Once again in the future if economy of scale goes up it is possible I may be able to go a bit lower. This wouldn't happen for a long time though as very large orders of material would be necessary. I want to make this unit as affordable as possible for the general population
