Hi everybody! I've been vaping oil cartridges for the last few months as my intro to weed. There's a lot to enjoy about it and initially what I was interested in was the relatively cheap price point for a good quality rig (Yocan Uni Pro babey!!) and how there was little to no clean up process. That's all well and good but I've realized that I like looking into what the actual strain is supposed to do, learning about terpenes and all that fun esoteric weed nerd stuff! The problem with wanting to be a weed nerd and primarily vaping carts is overwhelmingly I'm told that most cartridges -even ones that claim to be live resin- are often times fake and aren't actually the strain they say they are.
So instead of paying upwards of $70 for a gram that's supposed to be just like the real thing, I figured I'd actually try the stuff out from the source! That said, I'm also starting from basically Square One over here. I've never really interacted with flower before and even after looking into what stuff to buy and trying to understand what vaporizing is I'm a little stuck on weird little particulars and logistical stuff. Mainly how much do I put in? How finely do I grind an herb up to pack it in? How many drags can I take from what I pack in? Can the same substance stay in the tubing for multiple sessions or do I have to switch it out every time?
Then there's stuff that more pertains to the differences between vaping oils vs vaping dry herb. Mainly I see people take these really long, deep drags off dry herb devices upwards of like, 15-20 second hits and I'm more used to taking smaller puffs from my oil pen like, 5-7 seconds tops. Is that how you're supposed to smoke it or do the review channels just like to play up how thick the clouds are?
I bought an Xmax v3 Pro after seeing a lot of reviews and people recommending it on the Vaporents subreddit as a good beginner's vape so I'd love to see anybody with specific experience with that pen but any experience you have to share is welcomed! Thanks for reading!
