Tornado by Vestratto

I received my 420 tornado full rig yesterday in the UK. Pretty sure it was one of the first ordered.

And I don’t want to disappoint all those eager beavers who ordered but…..

It’s really good! A very nice full spectrum stone with an impressive smoothness. I’m going back through my strains and it’s bringing out the best in them all. And the 420 edition is a very nice green - akin to the drab olive colour of guitars. Not a million miles from the Dani vape but hits harder.

Colour me impressed.

Doesn‘t work at all with my flare ih though.

Patience people - it’s worth the wait.
I have no problem waiting. But radio silence from customer service is CRAZY.

You mix two Big boys!!!
This combination looks great
I think the Tempest 2 stem makes a great general use stem for the bigger butane vapes (Tornado & CXL). I think the chunkyness of the stem matches the bulk of those larger heads. Feels nicely balanced weight wise also.

I've used the Tornado on the stem and it works very well. Cools enough, and keeps airflow as open as possible to not add to the atomiser restriction.

I won't be using it any more for a while as I will be heavily testing out the Tempest 2. But I will definitely be using this combo in the future.

I've been quite happy with my Tornado hanging off a wood tempest stem, works very nicely; but I'm curious, how did you join them, far as I know the Tempest2 bowl is an 8mm fit.

I got it from @ScruffyWoofers he made me a slimmed down version of his adaptor by request.
Aaaah! I thought it didn't look like the normal scruffy! Good call! It looks even better than the standard scruffy adapter with the 'nado.
While I'm all for third party makers like Scruff, I was a little surprised Vestratto didn't decide on knocking out such a relatively simple device to include with the WPA and throw $10's on the price, before they had a stem to fit.

The anvil WPA is the same as the tornado WPA right? Can the Tornado fit the Anvil WPA?

Also for the ‘full rig’ Tornado stem, is the heat jacket (guard) the same as the Anvil heat guard?? Looking to buy other colours for my tornado stem when it arrives.

Not that I know for sure, but I would assume it won't fit correctly unless someone can say otherwise from experience, otherwise I doubt Vestratto'd have bothered with two WPA's, and likewise, the Anvil stem had to be slightly re-engineered to properly fit the Tornado.

The Tornado WPA does fit an anvil and vice versa, you would need the condenser of course for the anvil only, but the only difference from the Anvil WPA is the hole in the bottom is wider allowing more airflow.

The WPAs that came with my 4/20/2024 Anvil and Tornado bundles are exactly the same other than the o-rings at the vape connection side. They are a different color, but the same size. Bottom hole is the same too. The Tornado will fit older WPAs since there is no airflow adjustment for the Anvil on the WPAs, so their connecting piece is short enough to fit the Tornado and didn't need to be changed.

Edit: And yes, the heat shields for the stems are the same and interchangeable also.

I tried another pretty full bowl natively on the regular size stem a little while ago. This time I used the Forge rather than a torch, and it felt much less hot on the throat, actually very comfortable for me. I had it set to 5050J, 95% and it even took it darker than I like. I think this indicates that I can probably improve my torch technique. Looking forward to the next Forge bowl, I'll be lowering the Joules a bit.

Ahhh the heat lock! I leave the cap very loose and I'm still getting locked up when using the wand. I have to use pliers even after it's cooled and apply way more torque then I'd like.

This thing is a beast. It has pretty repeatable results but for me the only inconsistency is the heat lock. Sometimes I get it. Sometimes I don't. They should include an alan key with this thing. Vestratto makes tools, not toys.

This and the unboxing experience because lack of Content (0 extras, no screens, rings) really disappointed me.
The device is great but when unboxing this or unboxing smth like the revolve/tempest it takes second place.

I would probably contact them about the heat locking honestly, I've never once had that happen with my Tornado or Anvil. Or maybe you're leaving the bowl too loose somehow?

I've not ever had a heat lock 🤞, but I only use a torch. I don't use my wand with my Anvil or my Tornado

heat shield is EXACTLY the same....and as far as heat locks go....why not just use an Allen wrench in the top hole to achieve leverage.

I often hear people talk about thermal blockage, but personally I use my nado very often with the forge and my torch and I have not had thermal blockage
