Tornado by Vestratto

If you’re waiting for JV to magically turn a corner and become the most customer centric, feedback driven people pleaser on earth, don’t hold your breath.

It’s clear he listens to no one. He makes the things he wants, the way he wants. If you want it another way, find it somewhere else.
Expecting anything less than awful slow communication and unprofessionalism from John at vestratto would be silly.

@ScruffyWoofers I noticed today that the adapter o rings supplied (Tornado end @ 8mm x 1mm) are for my Tornado at least just a little too big because I'm now noticing that the o rings are being shoved/stretched out of the adapter o ring recess when inserting the adapter into the Tornado. I happened to have two 7mm x 1mm o rings that are working perfect. Tried the 6mm x 1mm o rings supplied but they were not snug enough fit wise between adapter and Tornado.

Anyone else with the adapter noticing this?
Hey, thanks for letting me know. If other people are experiencing the same I'll look at increasing the depth of the O-ring retaining groove but I have to say that the 8 x 1mm O-rings work best for me (now I have a Tornado - loving it btw). Maybe I should just include some 7 x 1mm O-rings and that would cover pretty much all variance.

There is lots of crazy speculation about the Tornado, so as an owner and an internet expert, I will add my opinion. When the Tornado became available as an add-on with the Forge, it was a concept. If you go back to the first released 3d isometric view of the device, it is not the Tornado that I and others have. So when the Forge was being designed there was no Tornado to test it on, this is why it works great on the Anvil and has issues with the Tornado (mine worked fine with the Tornado).

Vestratto said at one point that the Tornado was coming with the WPA because they felt it was too hot to use without water. Because of this decision the Tornado was made to fit the existing WPA (mine are identical except the thru hole size). The Tornado was made to fit tight to the WPA, and it does just like designed.

I use my Tornado primarily on my OG Anvil stem and I use a J pipe. By the time I finish half a bowl (10 to 15 drags for me) and hit the second click my stem is rather hot and even the heat shield gets warm. I guess my point is the ceviche gets very hot, however the vapor is cool enough for my wimpy lungs that water isn’t necessary.

I fully agree. I lately switched to a Blazer Big Shot style torch, which made the experience even smoother and tastier in 12 seconds. How long does it take with the Inductor?
I'm at 25W, V around 5 seconds

edit: just blast the thing. I´ve become bolder and bolder. And paradoxically, the heating up seems better controlled at full throttle.

Same situation here. The bigger the flame, the better the controllability and therefore the results. 12 seconds heating improved my experience a lot, I only can imagine how great 5 seconds work.

For me to be sure: You’re on 25V which means 250W, right?

So this thing is easier to control with large heat sources? I really like that. Seems counter intuitive. The Anvil tended to combustion for me with too large a flame.

Volt volt volt, Roffa! Oh dear. 25V. It goes to 28V

I had to unlearn my Anvil technique to stretch the use of the Tornado. Oddly, it's a very forgiving vape and versatile. I can go from very terpy low temp hits to RTL. Or temp step all the way up.

I’m using the tornado w the inductor exclusively.

After loading and threading the bowl, I’ll do x2 3 second touch at either side of the logo, and then another set of x2 3second touches at the oven, while rotating

Consistently gets me the same light roast that I had dialed in w my ballvape. I tend not to hear the clicks with this method.

I’ve also found that if I’ve over heated it, I should take my toke QUICK before the heat has more time to propagate. This seems to save bowls from combusting.

Edit: that’s at 27.2V

25.5V is ideal for me. I give a 2 second touch at the logo, then draw a line along the oven of 2 seconds. From cold, that's a very terpy hit. Another 1 second touch gets me to click. And from there I try to surf the heat retention, restoring temperature with a 1 s touch here and there, until it's on the edge of popcorny. Still getting the hang of it, I'm amazed at the versatility spot heating brings.

I’ll give this a shot! Thanks for sharing

As expected my email I sent an hour after purchase asking if I could apply a code was ignored.

Atleast they didn't tell me to go f*** myself. But with Vestratto that is always heavily implied anyway.

YUP. I don't know why so much glazing is in this thread but the service and communication from vestratto is awful.

Thank goodness you guys are here to remind us.....I never would have known
This is a consumer forum. It's what it's for. We inform each other of good products and good customer service. Sorry if that disappoints you.

Just today I was posting in the Vapman thread saying how they exceeded expectations in shipping time. It's what we do here. Good gets called out. Bad gets called out. It's not a cult.

First Black Friday in a few years where I did not make a vape related purchase. Here’s how:

If I find the itch to hop on a deal, I immediately pack a fat tornado bowl and take a big rip. The urge to buy immediately subsides.

I wasn’t a medical user, but I guess I am now because the tornado cured my VAS this BF season.

EDIT: Don’t take this as medical advice. Please consult your doctor

So I’ve ordered my Tornado, I’m very excited to finally use it. I’m also excited for everyone else who’s awaiting theirs. I’ll be thinking of you all as I roast my first bowl. I’ve got my parts ready and waiting, so when the BF drop came up I thought it would be an excellent way to celebrate Christmas. It’s not VAS winning I promise!

I think this will likely be my last post on FC, as I’m looking to fade out of the online vape space and just be more offline in general. These various online spaces are a wonderful thing, but I feel that they can also feed into the more unhealthy aspects of the ego in a way that’s not always easy to see or accept in yourself when you’re a little bit too online.

Thanks for all the lovely discussions I’ve had with so many of you, it’s been great on here. I’ll be using all the fantastic advices and information from the early adopters to make sure I have the best time possible with my Tornado. Right, I'm off to touch grass ;)

Cheers!

I feel I can safely say that you won't be disappointed. I just now got launched into space using the 'Nado. The smooth draws allow you to inhale pretty deeply.

It hits me hard and fades slowly. I'm really loving the signature high it brings.
Thanks! That sounds great, as do your other posts about the ’Nado. I’m planning to use it with my GVB hooks, which I imagine will be a good combination. Keep enjoying your session! :peace:

I wouldn't expect any company to allow you to retroactively apply a code to an order you've already placed. The time to apply codes is during checkout. If you missed it, you missed it. They've responded quickly and helpfully to every email I've sent them about issues with my orders that were caused by them. I've received much worse service from companies that have much better reputations around here.

I've had many companies do just that. Vestratto could have emailed me back and told me no, that would have been fine. Bad communication. I expected as much. I expect the device to be brilliant so I'm not that disheartened.
