its all about money to them. they only care about sustaining their profits, of which are incredible. MJ is the number one cash crop in N America. they are making money hand over fist for something that every human should have the right to grow themselves. they use the black market to make themselves rich.

to the rest of us its about the truth. we care because it can do soooo much good for soooo many people in soooo many different ways.

all the growers care about is how many new cars they are gonna buy this year or what part of the world they will be vacationing in after they crop out for the last time.

as for the legal medi grow ops... im not sure exactly how that works.

I wish it were that simple. Many worked a lifetime to achieve what they they recently did and legality threatens their security.

Yes, and many others have lived our lifetimes to actually see the day that we could enjoy cannabis with no legal reprecussions.

Sure, they have worked lifetimes to be able to supply those of us who just want to enjoy it. Getting rich off of us because of the risk. I have little to no sympathy for them right about now if they want it to continue to be illegal for their monetary gain.

Yeah and maybe tweak the wording of the proposition. In the next one, marijuana should be declared not just legal, but compulsory.

Oh well life happens. Business and politics seem to come into play here on BOTH sides of the issue. Im interested to see what approach is taken next when this comes up for decision.

Also, Im nervous of how this is going to affect the otherwise momentus we have garnered in other states. This is like 3 losses in a row (4 if AZ fails)

I am also disappointed as I think it would have set precedent for other states as well. The real change, however, needs to happen on a Federal level.

I still think prop 19 helped stir debate and raise awareness, i wasn't at all sure it was going to pass. It seems like continued progress on decriminalization and medical is the way to go, unless someone else wants to steal cali's thunder and beat them too it.

On the upside, a number of communities in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts voted on "Should the state representative from this district be instructed to vote in favor of legislation that would allow patients, with their doctor's written recommendation, to possess, grow, and purchase marijuana for their personal medical use?"
Which seems to have gotten pretty solid support, so maybe we'll get medical going back on track here.

Unfortunately it seems the youth vote was much lower than anticipated, and the idea had no organizations with the funding to mount a statewide campaign. Makes you wonder if any of the inordinately wealthy celebrities and businessmen who were publicly in favor of the proposition contributed, even anonymously. Still, 1,995,510 or 55% voted against it while 1,640,842 or 45% were in favor, 45% is enough to make me optimistic for 2012.
