TinyMight Ordering & Shipping Thread

I suspect he is backed up due to the PayPal disaster. I'm guessing he will be addressing you guys (paypal users) before he gets to new orders placed over the weekend. I won't sweat being still at pending unless it is still there in a week or more.

David at TM sent an email Saturday saying he would cancel the PayPal order.
I had already created a second order with a credit card.

Order status unchanged

I imagine it will go from Pending->Shipped when the device is ready

There's a subreddit now for the TM and it is mostly people complaining about cancelled PP orders, lack of communication, and poor customer service.

I totally get that tm is verry busy at the minute but fair play what a pain in the ass this is?!?! Should have been prepared for this.

There are many things that can happen to delay a one man (or otherwise very small) operation, including health issues and need for time off and supply issues and, like in this case, a payment services decision to drop a vendor. We have seen this last one before with at least 3 other vendors, all paypal related I think, and it takes a while to clean up from and it takes the vendors time away from building and delivering it's products. Many small vape vendors come into this with knowledge of their product, but not necessarily knowledge in marketing and business, and these kind of problems can really take them off track. And experience has shown that paypal is not particularly helpful in helping vendors manage being dropped by them.

I don't know what experience the TM maker has, but I think it would be wise for us to give them a little room to work through this and get back on track. After all, it's their expertise in making this vape that should be most important to us, and even with the number of vapes already delivered, the vape website still shows the product as preorder and anyone ordering saw that before plunking down their cash.

I agree but they could at least have someone on the email side of things to reassure customers of there order. There is also verry little information about shipping and dispatch status. I genuinely agree with most of what your saying but you should always comment on the negatives as this helps a business recognise what it needs to improve this certainly dose not discredit a great product just points out there are some customer order information and communication issues that need to be addressed.

I don't disagree that an email would help. I just want to be sure that folks understand that these things sometimes happen and so far I don't think the delays reported are a reason for concern. Even those vendors we like the best occasionally have delivery or production issues that need resolution. Especially at the beginning there is a lot to learn about running a business, especially if you are mostly a tech guy.
That being said a post in here saying all is well might go along way in placating folks even if it has no details, but not all vendors like to communicate that way. It might help make a lot of email replies unnecessary, though.
I could bring up other vendors who I think really did it wrong, but that shouldn't be necessary for you to see that TM is still doing a lot better than he might...

I'm not saying its a serious cause for concern either im saying that the confusion lack of information and communication need to be addressed by TM. Yes some confusion can be expected with a new company but how are they gunna improve if you dont point out the issues. Im also not comparing TM to other companies as its irrelevant to what i was saying. All im doing is taking my experience with them and making sure that others are properly informed befor they go ahead and buy one. Witch is basically great product but don't expect clear or immediate communication with TM.

Order #1756 (July 11) still hasn't shipped. I was hoping that I'd be in the batch that was hinted for the end of July, but it sounds like maybe there will be a bit of a delay. I expected this might happen with all of the recent PayPal issues (even though I paid with CC).

At any rate, I suppose I still owe the man more of my patience, because I was told to expect roughly 4 weeks between ordering and shipment, and so far it's only been 3 weeks. As far as expectations are concerned, they seemed to have been set properly on the front-end of my transaction. Now I go back to playing the waiting game; my least favorite game.

Sending good vibes to the TM creator right now. I'm sure he's totally swamped and trying his hardest, and probably receiving a ton of angry emails on top of everything.

Order 19xx July 21 (Pending) just to give some reference of how many order are being placed. 10 days difference from the above and 200+ transactions (granted some could be accessories or reorders of the PayPal thing). Dude is getting slammed. Patience my friends, patience.

Why is everyone so forgiving of this dude? Like genuine question here, I thought this is the same person who jumped ship with his last vape brand and left those customers high and dry. Wouldn’t that lead us to expect better service to show change? Unless that’s a false rumor i heard, which is entirely possible based off people here saying “be more forgiving since it’s a new company making new mistakes for the first time.”

edit: not trying to sound mean, like i ordered a tinymight too and am ok waiting now, im just curious why everyones so understanding and patient lol

I get the whole small-batch artisanal vape thing. But “the maker” is getting a ton of angry emails because his volume of business has far exceeded his capacity to handle that business. His shipping times have improved for the vape. When I ordered in March the waiting time was 6-8 weeks. My order got canceled by PayPal, because the 30 days ran out. Now the excuse is PayPal cancelling his account.

When he realized he needed to build a factory he should have also realized he needed shipping and fulfillment people. The product is excellent but the operational aspect is awful. Not everybody who orders one of these is on this forum and thus up to date on the travails of the maker. Many of them are trying to just pay their money and get a vape they’ve heard is good. They’re sending angry emails because they order into a void.

His accessories shipping is even worse. I waited 2 months for an extra tube, CU, and o-ring which he had to re-ship after repeated emails because he insists on sending accessory orders via untracked letter service. This is not a sustainable business model. He is rapidly developing a reputation for awful customer service. People will understand delays if they feel like the guy is being transparent about it. Way back in October of last year KG Woodcrafts and VGoodiez were supposed to be the initial US vendors and were getting stock any day now as soon as he got the first crunch fulfilled. Never happened. Now Sneaky Pete is the next US vendor.

The maker is all over the place and not in a good way. Check out the Tinymight subreddit- there’s any number of posts wondering wtf happened to their orders. “One man show” isn’t an acceptable excuse anymore. Dude has to step it up or his business will fail.

By contrast, Dan Morrison makes incredible vapes, is a one man show, and manages to be completely transparent about the process.

I am not going to stand up for his lack of communication over past month or two. I sent him an email imploring with him to make a public statement to reassure people. His response was basically an apology for the back log and a non-answer to all of my questions.

However, it needs to be put in perspective.
I originally ordered it on June 18th. There was a brief period in June where orders (placed with cc’s) were being shipped out immediately. So, I for one got very anxious thinking I would be getting it any day. (I ordered, received and charged my batteries, let alone all the accessories I keep acquiring!)
Then the PayPal fiasco. And they sold out their June stock.
I then reordered on July 19th. (Only because of hearing from a fellow FC’er, so another case of poor CS) At that time, I believe the wait time was posted as 4 weeks. (I don’t even know, I forgot to check)

Even though time seems to have ceased to exist, it has only been a couple of weeks.
Even if I go back to my original purchase date, it just feels like forever because they were shipping quickly for a bit and 6 weeks feels like an eternity in 2020.

By contrast, Dan Morrison makes incredible vapes, is a one man show, and manages to be completely transparent about the process.
As a Nomad owner, I can attest he indeed makes incredible vapes. But they take a looooong time to make and the wait is always a LOT longer than projected.

My Nomad was well worth the wait, I am willing to wait for my TM as well. That is one of the risks I accepted when ordering from an artisan vape maker.

But it sure would be nice for him to clarify things.

I can only answer for myself but I know what a one man shop can be like and I can leave him room for that. I also know these are crazy times when the best laid plans are likely to go arwy. Because he is making a very desirable product he got very hot and scaling up is a process. Several people whose opinion I respect seem to love this vape and that along with it's description are good enough for me to get in line. I have only been in this queue for a week so far but the site at the time predicted 4 weeks. And I take it as a prediction as I do with most any hand made or artisan purchase I make. Talk to me at 8 weeks and I may start showing concern. (Oh oh, now I can't start bitching until 8 weeks )
Don't get me wrong, more communication would be better of course, but I guess I've gotten a little used to giving creative people leeway. If I had ordered a GH, on the other hand, I might have gone insane, but then GH have become the posterboy of bad rollouts that actually delivered product.

I’m used to China ordering so I doubled it in my mind as well.
The only difference being I can normally afford to lose a China shipment but like others I felt it worth the risk on this badboy.

Got an email today saying they cancelled my paypal order and I can order with a credit card if I want to now. Took 6 days for him to get back to me about it after I emailed. I ordered initially on July 1st. I guess I'm going to reorder but it feels like I'm about to pay 300 bucks for a device I will get no support on if shit hits the fan. Wish me luck boys.

Oh yeah to clarify i was confused bc i thought this guy had a bad track record with his past vape company. Otherwise id also understand obv how hard a one man job is. It’s just he had to have known already based off the last experience

I am not aware of a previous failed project so I have not considered that in my appreciation of his difficulties. If that were actually his history I would want to know about that, and it would be unlikely I would have preordered. Is anyone else aware of such history?

the RUMOR is it is the same maker of the Venus Apollo vaporizer. there is plenty of searchable stories about Ville the owner that bailed on orders and left broken hearts and units in the wild. There has not been confirmation that this is the same maker.

That "rumor" was started by me. I'm not sure why it's still considered a rumor. Perhaps people don't trust me, I don't know and don't care. What I do care about is letting this thread get derailed with discussion about the whole Apollo drama. Please keep the discussion in this thread about TM shipping. If you want to talk about the Apollo, well we have a thread for that so you should perhaps post there.

Thank you.

The owners details are in the Finnish business registry. It doesn't look like Ville.
