There are many things that can happen to delay a one man (or otherwise very small) operation, including health issues and need for time off and supply issues and, like in this case, a payment services decision to drop a vendor. We have seen this last one before with at least 3 other vendors, all paypal related I think, and it takes a while to clean up from and it takes the vendors time away from building and delivering it's products. Many small vape vendors come into this with knowledge of their product, but not necessarily knowledge in marketing and business, and these kind of problems can really take them off track. And experience has shown that paypal is not particularly helpful in helping vendors manage being dropped by them.
I don't know what experience the
TM maker has, but I think it would be wise for us to give them a little room to work through this and get back on track. After all, it's their expertise in making this vape that should be most important to us, and even with the number of vapes already delivered, the vape website still shows the product as preorder and anyone ordering saw that before plunking down their cash.
I don't disagree that an email would help. I just want to be sure that folks understand that these things sometimes happen and so far I don't think the delays reported are a reason for concern. Even those vendors we like the best occasionally have delivery or production issues that need resolution. Especially at the beginning there is a lot to learn about running a business, especially if you are mostly a tech guy.
That being said a post in here saying all is well might go along way in placating folks even if it has no details, but not all vendors like to communicate that way. It might help make a lot of email replies unnecessary, though.
I could bring up other vendors who I think really did it wrong, but that shouldn't be necessary for you to see that TM is still doing a lot better than he might...
Sending good vibes to the TM creator right now. I'm sure he's totally swamped and trying his hardest, and probably receiving a ton of angry emails on top of everything.
Dude is getting slammed. Patience my friends, patience.
I get the whole small-batch artisanal vape thing. But “the maker” is getting a ton of angry emails because his volume of business has far exceeded his capacity to handle that business. His shipping times have improved for the vape. When I ordered in March the waiting time was 6-8 weeks. My order got canceled by PayPal, because the 30 days ran out. Now the excuse is PayPal cancelling his account.edit: not trying to sound mean, like i ordered a tinymight too and am ok waiting now, im just curious why everyones so understanding and patient lol
As a Nomad owner, I can attest he indeed makes incredible vapes. But they take a looooong time to make and the wait is always a LOT longer than projected.By contrast, Dan Morrison makes incredible vapes, is a one man show, and manages to be completely transparent about the process.
I can only answer for myself but I know what a one man shop can be like and I can leave him room for that. I also know these are crazy times when the best laid plans are likely to go arwy. Because he is making a very desirable product he got very hot and scaling up is a process. Several people whose opinion I respect seem to love this vape and that along with it's description are good enough for me to get in line. I have only been in this queue for a week so far but the site at the time predicted 4 weeks. And I take it as a prediction as I do with most any hand made or artisan purchase I make. Talk to me at 8 weeks and I may start showing concern. (Oh oh, now I can't start bitching until 8 weeks )Why is everyone so forgiving of this dude?
Yea I agree,ohI get the whole small-batch artisanal vape thing. But “the maker” is getting a ton of angry emails because his volume of business has far exceeded his capacity to handle that business. His shipping times have improved for the vape. When I ordered in March the waiting time was 6-8 weeks. My order got canceled by PayPal, because the 30 days ran out. When he realized he needed to build a factory he should have also realized he needed shipping and fulfillment people. Not everybody who orders one of these is on this forum and thus up to date on the travails of the maker. Many of them are trying to just pay their money and get a vape they’ve heard is good. They’re sending angry emails because they order into a void. His accessories shipping is even worse. I waited 2 months for an extra tube, CU, and o-ring which he had to re-ship after repeated emails because he insists on sending accessory orders via untracked letter service. This is not a sustainable business model. He is rapidly developing a reputation for awful customer service. People will understand delays if they feel like the guy is being transparent about it.

Oh yeah to clarify i was confused bc i thought this guy had a bad track record with his past vape company. Otherwise id also understand obv how hard a one man job is. It’s just he had to have known already based off the last experienceI can only answer for myself but I know what a one man shop can be like and I can leave him room for that. Don't get me wrong, more communication would be better of course, but I guess I've gotten a little used to giving creative people leeway. If I had ordered a GH, on the other hand, I might have gone insane, but then GH have become the posterboy of bad rollouts that actually delivered product.
the RUMOR is it is the same maker of the Venus Apollo vaporizer. there is plenty of searchable stories about Ville the owner that bailed on orders and left broken hearts and units in the wild. There has not been confirmation that this is the same maker.I am not aware of a previous failed project so I have not considered that in my appreciation of his difficulties. If that were actually his history I would want to know about that, and it would be unlikely I would have preordered. Is anyone else aware of such history?
Yep, rumor is all ive heard so far. No actual confirmarionthe RUMOR is it is the same maker of the Venus Apollo vaporizer. there is plenty of searchable stories about Ville the owner that bailed on orders and left broken hearts and units in the wild. That "rumor" was started by me. I'm not sure why it's still considered a rumor. Perhaps people don't trust me, I don't know and don't care. What I do care about is letting this thread get derailed with discussion about the whole Apollo drama. Please keep the discussion in this thread about TM shipping. If you want to talk about the Apollo, well we have a thread for that so you should perhaps post there.the RUMOR is it is the same maker of the Venus Apollo vaporizer.
