TinyMight Ordering & Shipping Thread

Very true, the follow up orders are likely for accessories and not the vapes. Not that I have any international business experience, (or even if this is possible) but I just pictured going through his website to order the accessories and his partners in the destination country fill the order and send it out. He doesn't have to be "hands on" with that part but could still retain some of the profit.

Either that or domestic companies are just going to start selling compatible accessories anyway, like the O-Ring/dome screen packs, tubes, CU, etc.

Update to my order 531 as i just logged in to tinymights webpage and saw that my order has been cancelled.. No email or anything from tinymight and No refund so far.. paus trough paypal, so at least I’ve got their refund policy to back me up.. just strange to take a customers order to then cancel it 29 days later.. wtf! Email him again to see what happened..

How have you guys canceled your pending PayPal payment? Mine's still pending, not sure if it will ever go through.

Only the merchant can cancel a pending transaction, the customer is basically just left in limbo, you can't open up a i dispute or anything like that.

After 29 days PayPal will automatically reverse the transaction if it hasn't been completed so just be patient. Your money isn't gone.

Hiring even a single customer service rep to respond to emails is extremely affordable for a business that has already done over $500,000 USD in transactions.

Yes large vape retailers like Puff It Up have had their own issues with PayPal but I have a feeling that the reason the TinyMight account was limited by Paypal was probably due to customer complaints rather than the nature of the device he's selling.

Have now been tangling around my order with my bank, and I’m told that
1. Tinymight/PayPal made a charge on my card for 368.10€
2. PayPal/Tinymight has not refunded that charge even though my order was cancelled after 29 days
3. Tinymight and PayPal not answering any emails and here in Sweden PayPal customer support is suspended due to corona.
5. Tinymight or PayPals system cancelled my order after 29 days, don’t know if that’s done automatically or if it’s because the vendor didn’t accept my order in time.

So basically Tinymight/PayPal har taken my money, cancelled my order but not refunded me.

With the lack of support and answers from both Tinymight and PayPal this leaves me quite stranded and I feel ripped off atm over 368.10€. At this moment I can not recommend anyone to order from Tinymight until they’ve resolved their issues..

Sounds like a nightmare, and I understand why you're frustrated.

Two things to keep in mind: The PayPal fiasco is recently escalated, from what I can tell. Many orders are being canceled because PayPal apparently does not support vape purchases. If you read through the post history here and on the main Tinymight thread, you'll see those who paid with PayPal waiting MUCH longer for their orders or, recently, having them canceled altogether.

The other thing to remember is that this is one guy. His email inbox is probably swamped and backed up by the hundreds. He's producing and shipping a globally in-demand product, and is trying to handle customer inquiries on his own. Slow service unfortunately has to be expected.

It's not ideal, but it'll work out as long as you're patient.

This isn't going to be acceptable as an excuse for much longer and is going to start actively harming his business soon. Especially once he reaches saturation of the market with initial TM sales. I like my TM a lot, but it hasn't been out that long. Once the first wave of sales starts to age a bit and needs repairs, what then? I initially decided to wait until the US retailers got stock from him, which still hasn't happened. Those announcements were made almost a year ago now, I believe. Good thing I didn't wait. Anecdotally, he also seems to make a number of mistakes with order fulfillment and shipping. It shouldn't take 2 months, as was my situation, to get an extra CU and O-rings.

Totally. Not defending the business model at all, just wanted to make sure RAG knew what was happening. Luckily I browsed here before I made my purchase, and I was able to adjust my expectations. I told myself I was okay with waiting two months to get my TM if it took that long. If the turnaround is shorter, I'll be pleasantly surprised. But obviously this is not an operation currently equipped to scale.

Thanks for your answers.

I totally get that he’s a one man operation, but everything is doable in my opinion if you’re committed to it. I myself have 4 companies that I manage myself, two with my own products that I developed myself and the other two offer services. I’ve been lucky to have one of the products really take off, so I understand the challenges he’s facing. But I’ve emailed with him several times before ordering, no issues there but after I realized in the start of July that my PayPal payment said pending I emailed him and he replied that it wasn’t an issue and that he’d take care of it. After that dead silence, you can’t treat your paying customers that way. Especially when you’ve held their funds for over a month, the customers hasn’t received any notification of any sort about the cancelled order and then not reply.. I’m already imagining the nightmare of when a device is faulty or just needs service.. how will that be handled then?

Since I’ve gotten 0 replies and no money back from him my trust for him has vanished, right now it seems as likely to have been scammed as he actually replying or refunding me.

This is actually standard for him and was perceived as unremarkable back when when the wait for a device was over a month. I had the same thing happen; the payment was pending for a month, then it was cancelled. At the time the waiting period was about 2 months. I emailed him and he said that was normal and he’d be fulfilling the order and shipping soon. I don’t know if recent crackdowns by PayPal will affect this. By no means am I excusing this, just offering a possible explanation. It’s very annoying and I agree with you regarding his CS; I dread needing to get warranty service on my TM. The device is good enough that it’s caught on (though I don’t necessarily share the opinion that’s it the best thing evAR) and he’s had great success in sales. But that doesn’t excuse the very spotty hit or miss customer service. I literally think that if your email arrives while he happens to be sitting at the computer you’ll get a response. Otherwise, maybe not. It’s a growing problem.

I don’t know if recent crackdowns by PayPal will affect this.

This is a big part of my concern though, that his paypal issues will directly affect his unfulfilled orders. If the whispered rumors are true that his main Paypal account was limited that very likely means that any balances associated with that PP account are locked down for 6-9 months before he can access them. I'm not sure how dependent on PayPal that he is but that can certainly cripple a small business until they can get access to other funds, start paying their suppliers, etc..

If an outsider looked at this preordering situation with no other knowledge it would look like a simple exit scam, not responding to any emails, no phone number or address publicly available, their social media like Instagram has gone dark since roughly a month ago, etc..

Mailchimper you said you have no contact for the maker. I have had a look at the terms and conditions and found the contact address and phone number no problem and I have had contact with him two days ago on instagram. I am disappointed that my order was cancelled but no money was taken from my Paypal account and the pending transaction was cancelled automatically today after 29 days.
I have copy and pasted what I found on the Tinymight website. I think he’s is a good person that can’t keep up with the demand as the product is amazing from what people say and I’m still waiting for mine 😂. I wish him good luck with his business now and in the future 👍

I don't get this with regards to this "maker" ("creator," "hemisemidemigod," whatever) and this vape. I understand that people like it a lot, but why is any criticism of his business practices taken as an attack on him personally? Who ever called him a bad person? You have people on this thread who order a device, pay via Paypal, and after 30 days their order is cancelled with no contact or explanation. It's perfectly legitimate for those people to be concerned as to what's happened to their order. He is over his head. If he doesn't do something about it it could hurt his business. That's all anyone is saying.

Exactly. In my profession, I've met PLENTY of great, well rounded people who excel at what they do. However, they are often really, bad businessmen in terms of managing logistics and finances. Doesn't mean that they dont make a great product, or they dont care, it just means that the actual business side of things is lacking - which over time significantly hurts the business.

One of the best body shop guys in my area has been running his own shop for decades. His work is incredible - he can fix anything and make it look better than new. The business end of things needs work and hes consistently struggling financially to keep things going, losing contracts that he never would have lost if he was on top of the administrative stuff, etc. I've taken my vehicles there for years knowing that it may take him a couple weeks, but the finished product is the best around.

To answer your question @jbm I think the defense comes from comments saying that it seems like a hit and run scam, no contact with maker, cant get a response, etc. Just to say he doesnt do it intentionally and isnt trying to rip people off.

You're right, and again, I don't think he's a bad person, but again, the way to make people not think that is good customer service: sending an explanation for why your order was cancelled, answering ALL the emails, transparency about being in over your head, etc etc. Taking a not insignificant amount of money and then getting radio silence for over a month doesn't exactly instill confidence. Just mentioning the Paypal cancellation thing on the website would go a long way.

Whats the average lead time for product arrival in the states?
It seems to be delayed now. Been a little less than 6 weeks for me and the guy hasn’t responded to my messages the past week. Hopefully he’ll get back to replying soon enough

Or he could make a post on Instagram, easy way to reach a lot of people quickly. The problem is not the wait, the problem is not knowing why you wait. Paypal must be one of the reason for sure but it's just speculation right now. Communication is not something that should be difficult, I can understand if he can't reply to each email individually but a least find a way for people to know what is happening and what you plan to do about it.

Bad Dog

Yeah I pissed on the rug...... so what
I'm hoping that my shipping will be painless because it won't be international. I've got a reserved tinymight in the first shipment to hit Vape North due in mid August if all goes according to plan, which isn't a problem as I was still saving up. So glad my shipping will be domestic didn't fancy either of the two shipping options, DHL because of my living situation or a first class international order that probably doesn't have insurance. Just had a international order from the states disappear into thin air, I was lucky that the vendor resent the order without any charge but first class mail isn't insured and I could have easily been out of pocket, needing the order. Not sure what the tinymight maker would do about a first class missing parcel and I'm glad I don't have to find out. Not to mention that my shipping will be free....... I thought I read somewhere that DHL charges a additional fee upon delivery, is that correct? I feel like I'm avoiding a bit of a hornets nest by waiting for domestic availability.

And FYI for my American friends Sneaky Pete store is also due to carry the tinymight, get your second one August lol
