This Shit with North Korea is Getting More Than Just a Bit Scary.....

If we kill members of another countries political class then they start killing members of our political class so it doesn't happen often. A convention that serves those folks well regardless of which nation they live in or their supposed political orientation.

In a fit of angst, the USA outlawed our Fed government from assassinations....which, in the right circumstances (and I think N Korea is indeed one) is a legitimate arm of foreign policy.

IMO, a bullet in this little fat, homicidal fucker's brain pan would be WAY better than military action where countless lives will be lost or ruined.

If I were the Chinese, I might be considering this approach as they have this complete loose cannon of a maniac right on their border.

You highlighted the reason why so many countries (north korea included) want to be nuclear strike ready: dissuasion from this kind of vile aggression

dissuasion from this kind of vile aggression

I bet if you lived in N Korea you wouldn't think popping Kim is such a vile aggression.

Perhaps if you live in Japan where he just sent an ICBM overflying your home, you might not think that taking Kim off the game board is such a vile idea.

I suppose you thought us killing Bin Laden was vile aggression. Maybe our pursuit of Hitler also (who we would have definitely assassinated if we could).

The problem with eschewing "vile aggression" is.....that no everybody eschews it.

Good luck.

if my grandpa had wheels I would be a car..

Simple question: who decide who is worthed to be cold blood assassinated? Trump staff? World citizens after some kind of open polls?

Couldn't the United Nations order that Kim be put on trial for killing his own people? He had his brother assassinated, he died in the airport and it wasn't in N. Korea, it was Kuala Lampur (not sure of the spelling).

Edit
I suppose Kim would need to leave N Korea for that to happen. When you think if it, he's really isolated because he can't leave his own country.

Its real simple, if your very lives are threatened, then you make the decision and fuck what anybody else thinks.

World citizens...really? Wow.

I read the other day that they lost 20% of their population in the Korean War.
I was just watching I think it was the second disc of oliver stone's "The Untold History of the United States", and they mentioned that it was three million out of 30 so 10%. That's still a lot of dead koreans :rip:

Shouldda sent Barkley instead of Rodman...
Barkley talks better but rodman may be the smarter one. He was definitely the better rebounder

It was well-known that obama had a kill list, his unofficial nickname was 'drone assassin in chief' :zombie:

The military have drills over on the Asian Peninsula on how they would take out Kim. I'm sure he hears all that and makes him more paranoid.

Then we have a president that says we will release fire and fury on N. Korea. Trump should shut up. Everyone should just ignore his ignorant and crazy tweets. Our voted lawmakers should just run the country along with the generals and side step Trump.

Edit
I'm not talking about a coup. Just limiting how much power the president has because he doesn't have the knowledge, good judgement or the temperament to make wise decisions. He flies off the handle and says something stupid on twitter. I don't think everyone who voted for this guy really thought how horrible he would actually be. Some figured he would rise to the occasion. That hasn't happened as of yet. Every day we are hoping that he actually has some desire to learn. The chief of staff is limiting what he actually sees every day as not to overwhelm him.
He wanted to cut FEMA? WTF? there's no global warming? Off topic, I know.

I, on the other hand, would oppose a coup. I prefer freedom where those who oppose Trump can start trying to win some elections to get what they want.

I feel you here, but isn't "Trump staff" even more "wow"?

Don't get me wrong, if problem could be solved by killing we should not have problem since quite a long tipe and I would promote this solution too ;)

Ennemies have to be defeated, not killed, for your cause to prevail

Bin laden was an ennemy long defeated before his killing
hitler killed before poland invasion and you have a nazi cause martyr, killed during WWII and you have a even greater martyr, you defeat him and let him kill himself and disappear in south america and you defeated nazi all together for quite some times

I am skeptical about n k attacking first anything but at this time it is quite a risky thing to say

I keep in mind that what we know about n k we mostly know from the same informative channel of "saddam weapons of mass distruction" (a lie told knowing to tell a lie) / not very accurate at best..

But rest assured I would never visit Nk nor I am a supporter or empathic and this despite nk being one of the country where it is recreational :)

What surprises me is that Americans go over and visit, and they don't have relatives. They just want to see the country. Now folks can't visit because of restrictions. I wouldn't have wanted to visit. Look at that young college man who came back a vegetable then died.

I really like Bill Richardson in his ability to negotiate. Nobody seems to be interested in getting him on board.

Sometimes I wonder if Trump likes all this drama. It would be a horrible thing if that were the case. He doesn't seem to have a strategy for anything. Everyone else has to come up with the ideas because he doesn't have any. Except for a big mouth!

Trump shouldnt be saying shit to South Korea either. Let's kick them when they are down. We are suppose to be a supporter. Saying a week ago he respected Kim because he thinks Kim respects us because he didn't test out any bombs lately. Now look!

Yep, LeMay was quoted in an interview as saying " We went over there and fought the war and eventually burned down every town in North Korea anyway, someway or another, and some in South Korea too.… Over a period of three years or so, we killed off — what — twenty percent of the population of Korea as direct casualties of war, or from starvation and exposure?" One of the reasons (of many) this shit is still going on.

I wonder if pence would be more or less of a hawk than trump, if the old 'switcheroo' happens :hmm:

So far we have 10%/3 million, or 20%/6 million. It could be that the casualties weren't all in war battles, or that the percentages are just from one korea or the other. I wasn't there, but here's a third opinion:

"Recent scholarship puts the full battle death toll on all sides at just over 1.2 million."

Does anyone believe something is not going down?

Something is always going on, its a question of how weird. On one extreme the world is turned into a nuclear hell and on the other hand we pack up our troops and leave Asia to China. My guess is we do neither, more likely we carry out our military exercises (like always) and the nuclear can gets bounces down the street, again. Of course I thought there was no way Trump was going to get the nomination much less the office, so what do I know.

I think something bad is going to happen. :2c:

Hope not, too many people will die, our economy will likely tank and we could be spending another sixty to seventy years just to get back to here. On the other hand if there is an actual nuclear threat from North Korea and China refuses (or unable) to intercede there may not be a choice. This is when all those representatives we send to DC should be heavily engaged and earning their money so we have a voice in all this.

I think trump would sacrifice guam in a heartbeat, if it meant eliminating the prnk regime.
Northern japan a target too? It's possible. Suicidal, but still possible :mental:

tktt501-ap.jpg

This May 14, 2017, file photo distributed by the North Korean government shows the "Hwasong-12," a new type of ballistic missile at an undisclosed location in North Korea. North Korea claims it is in the final stages of preparing a plan to launch four intermediate-range ballistic missiles over Japan and into waters just off the island of Guam, where about 7,000 U.S. troops are based. Independent journalists were not given access to cover this event.

...so we have a voice in all this.
:lmao:

I think the people of South Korea, Japan, China and Guam feel this is really serious. If I was a leader of these countries, or the citizens, I would be pissed at all the stupid shit Trump is saying, ramping up the all the anger and making things worse. He scares people with what he says. Trump says things he's not prepared to follow through on. Then backs himself in a corner.

As do I.

I was in the USAF during the Vietnam era and contrary to the popular myth of the time, I found my fellows to be the most reticent and war adverse of anybody I had met. Mainly for the reason that they actually faced the violence and horror of war. But we are were officers in the military because we all firmly believed that a war fighting capability was absolutely essential to our lives in the world as it is (rather than how we would like to think it is...or think it should be).

I despise arm chair generals spouting "nuke em till they glow" and "bomb them back into the stone age" with them knowing that they will never have to personally face the consequences of what they are advocating.

With all of this said, yes...I would fully support an assassination of Kim if it were feasible....which I don't think it is, frankly.

Well...
I think that Kim is actually the best thing that happened to Donald .
The latter ,above all other ,is a rather successful businessman .

So because of Kim ,Donald gets to sell various and quite expensive USA-made "goodies" to
both South Korea and Japan .

" History repeats itself, first as tragedy, second as farce*."
As Karl Marx once quoted .

As for KIm ...
His living seems to be more " western "
than the standards of the average US citizen.

We're past any tradegy.
Relax and enjoy the comedy,then.

:peace:

In theatre, a farce is a comedy that aims at entertaining the audience through situations that are highly exaggerated, extravagant, and thus improbable. Farce is also characterized by physical humor, the use of deliberate absurdity or nonsense, and broadly stylized performances. Furthermore, a farce is also often set in one particular location, where all events occur.
