Discontinued ThermoVape

Yeah, well, that's just, like, your opinion, man.
REALLY enjoying the power adapter. Works great, and with a second power source I can run the Rev and the T1 simultaneously, kinda obvious I guess, but didn't really consider it until it arrived. The wife prefers oil over flower, so it's nice not having to switch back and forth.

I dig the glass mouthpiece as well, as others have mentioned, it pretty much eliminates the need for stirring! Heed the advice regarding twisting the glass to attach and remove though...I was rocking it back and forth and it ended up in multiple pieces, entirely my fault...

hi guys, I've been testing a Thermovape T1 for the last few weeks. Had a really good vapo-bong session with it a few days ago. But today, I'm sad to find that the heater won't fire up  I've checked the batteries are charged, and tried different sets of batteries, but no good, the core won't heat up at all. Is the heater dead? Or is there something I can try to get it working again?

bummer bleak. I was looking forward to the vid of the t1 you mentioned you were going to do on another blog.
Try pressing kinda hard when turning it on to see if that helps. Have you tried dis- and re-assembling the whole unit again? Check the internal switch component, make sure the o-rings are sitting properly. There are a few vids on this thread for reference. Best of luck mate. The west coast should be waking up in an hour or so, and reinforcements will be on the way.
easily, Nick

Since having problems with the T1, I took it apart and reassembled it. I reseated the switch/o-ring a couple of times, and also removed the core (couldn't see anything visibly wrong). Unfortunately this didn't help.

PS. I already shot the video while the T1 was working, so its still on the way :)

Looking forward to seeing your unit up and running again, as well as the vid.
I wonder if TV ever thought about opening a sales and support office in Europe?
(edit: Will they be a vendor at this Nov's HTCC?)

Nick has already covered the traditional points. I've a couple more thoughts for you. First off, there are two heaters in the core, failure of both is extremely rare (last time I asked there were two out of over 6,000), but it could happen. I suggest you screw the core into your Revolution rig (which I assume works fine?). Even if it's a LV rig, you should still get heat for a good core. Likewise, you could consider trying your Revolution or Evolution carts in the T1 unit in place of the core.

Secondly, there have been a few switch failures in the past from debris trapped inside (I had one), it might be worth trading the one out of your other set up?

Lastly, T1 uses two protected cells in series. If either of them is 'shut down' (protect mode) for any reason, this is just what would happen. Have you tried another set? Even putting the 17670 from your other setup (assuming it's LV?) would be a useful test.

Good luck. It worked once, it can do so again.

OF is right that its extremely rare for a core to have a double failure, literally i've only seen 2 and both were ran at 8.4v so it was a given.

My suspicion is also the switch, there were a few out there that had some plastic fragments trapped inside and causing intermittent functionality. Shoot us an email at sales@thermovape.com and we can get you a new switch sent out.

Sometimes this technique can get you by till the new one comes, with the interface open (like your going to change the batteries) push on the switch and spin it. This will sometimes move the particles out of the way and regain functionality. In either case we'll replace it for ya :)

Always worth a shot swapping out batteries too, a dead cell is a tricky thing to diagnose, but its also very rare.

On a side note guys, we are making some changes so excuse any delay in a response. You all are very important to us and our changes are to ensure the highest quality device and experience we can deliver.

Oh and remember to pickup your Tenergy batteries or chargers, each piece of the charger is broken down now so you can get just the car charger cable if you wanted. You wont find them cheaper!

Cheers,

Tim

I've only in possession of the basic T1 kit, so I can't test the core on another unit. Thanks for the suggestion though!

hi Tim, I tried spinning the switch as you suggested, but still nothing. I've also tried various combinations of different batteries (from the original 6), so I'm guessing its not the batteries as they couldn't all fail simultaneously. Will send you a message about replacing the switch. Thanks for your help! :)

Oops. Sorry, I misread Nick's .sig......I thought his gear was yours.

OTOH he gets distracted easily. Next time he does, just grab what appeals to you? He probably won't notice, and if he does I doubt he'll remember it the next day......

Best wishes with your unit, as you know it's well worth getting running again.

Hey, what's that over there... ?

Sorry, Nick, I think that may have got past me? Is this one of those "there's no there there" things?

Then again, maybe I got distracted as well? Better check and see if my gear is OK....... I wonder if insurance replaces vapes? Definitely personal property IMO.

Use a cheap surge protector. Many can accept as many as six plugs (chargers).

I take it the access to AC is the problem.? If need to charge more then 2 you need more chargers and your very limited with the LifPo4 batteries. Why not use the car adapter? Or another option would be to use one of those car booster packs to supply the charger. Basically using a larger battery to charge your batteries. You can get some pretty small ones these days.

You need to boil it, the Delrin expands more then the metal. A rubber glove helps too.

haha he makes it seem so easy in the video!
Yeah, think some are easier then others from what I've read. Remember to boil the Delrin again for easy adjustment when putting back too.

Pipes,
I have read a lot of the thread and I had decided on buying a T1 once I had the money, originally I had thought I would need to wait until around winter to have the money. Then I saw the T1 was on sale on Amazon for 120$!!! Too bad I still didn't have the cash for that...anyway long story short I had the cash this week but when I looked on Amazon the T1 for that price was gone and now replaced by the much more expensive 280$, nearly 100$ more than Thermovapes website.

So in light of this I think I may get a Thermovape Evolution(155$) from the Thermovape website since that's about halfway between the 120$ and 200$(T1). I have been trying my best to learn the difference between the two but haven't been very successful...would any of you be willing to explain the difference to me? It just seems odd that with minimal difference even on their website that the Evolution, which I assume by the name came out after the T1, would be cheaper given the newer tech.

Thanks in advance!

Always in a state of confusion and silliness♀
Don't forget the 25% discount till the 1st so if you really want the T1 you can get it. Use the code summertime. I ordered some parts from thermovape yesterday and they are really nice and helpful.
