We have a series of product releases scheduled for the year, the last of which won't be ready until the holidays.

1. I can't wait for the Revolution - do you know about how much just the attachment will cost?

2. Any possible time table on when the ThermoVape herbal attachment can be modified to function easier? As in hold more, be easier to clean out and or stir/mix?

And a different question:

3. What can I put around the batteries to make them a little more snug in the compartment? I am not too fond of the rattling. I would put tape but I figure that will melt. Ideas?

-Pete

Yes, The Revolution is on schedule. Parts are currently getting zapped by lasers.. We will have pricing as soon as we lock down the total costs. Soon.

Please remember that we launched around three weeks ago. The timetable is basically "as soon as humanly possible", and that is measured in months.

A rectangle of standard thickness paper cut 2.5" x 2" should work nicely as a sleeve for the batteries. Orient the 2.5" length long-ways.

Cheers!

PS- Hey Vaporninja- it's great to see another vapor enthusiast from Chitown! I always try to get people to try the latest vaporizers and stuff so cheers to you for being one of the vapor grounbreakers here in the midwest! We should start a Chicago Vapor club!!!

We should indeed, each club member can carry up to 10 grams of pot walking around town ;)

Good call, I use a cheap artist's brush, 1/4 inch in Boar Bristle which is stiffer. In either case, cutting the bristles back makes them stiffer still. The screen in the MFLB is pretty frail, the TV is a lot more robust. A stiffer brush come in handy at the top vents, where stuff can cake up some.

Last night I managed to get it very hot and the delrin would spin and slide up and down. So if you have 2 people and you pass it back and forth 5 times it will get hot and the delrin will loosen up a lot. Your thumb does get warm too.

Today I took it apart and boiled it for 5-10 minutes. (Minus the batteries) I would recommend watching the youtube video and take it apart as they do it. Then boil for 5-10 minutes. Once it was cool enough I watched the youtube video as I put it back together. I turned it on when it wasn't all the way dry and there was a hissing sound. I waited 20 minutes and it must have dried since it was silent again.

Has anyone tried sprinkling on some kief yet? I will try that tonight.

Edit: Update on the cleaning part. As TV says below, I think boiling isn't needed as it wasn't even that dirty. The top cap was sticky and some small pieces were stuck inside the mouth piece. Dropping that in 91% or boiling water will get it back to normal. Wiping down the bowl and the outside should be enough for me.

I tried last night and was a bit disappointed. I had just sprinkled it on top of a loose bed. It didn't seem to do anything - although when I opened it up I saw the top holes got clogged with it (got sucked into my mouth?). So maybe there is a method - like sandwich it between looser stuff?

I guess that's what the Revolution is going to be for...

The TV does a fine job w/kief. I partially load the bowl w/herb, then kief, then herb. With this
method, I let the TV stay on a bit longer before taking the first pull. I also use a little less
force to inhale, more sip. This keeps the kief from leaping out of the mix and up thru the top cap.
Try it----its good.

We do recommend that you boil the bowl for cleaning. The rest of the ThermoVape is easily cleaned by just wiping it down.

If you do want to boil the entire device. Remove the switch, see the video for a demonstration on how to do this:

ThermoVape Assembly Video

We make this suggestion because it is difficult to completely dry the switch, if you do boil it make sure to hit it with a hair drier or similar to make sure it is thoroughly dried.

Our suggestion, just boil the heater core and the top cap. Everything clean with a good wipe down.

Cheers,

Well I got my TV after a bit of frustration with the mail but everything settled now. First impressions were that this thing looks awesome and feels great in the hand. After draining all my batteries and barely getting any vapor I was quite disappointed. The first bowl I loaded up got me two decent hits, then nothing else really. Put in the second set of batteries and got a few more measly hits. Loaded up a second bowl with the third set of batteries and same thing, I seem to only get about 6 hits off a set of batteries and the first two being the only good ones. I was also stirring/shaking after every hit.

Next frustration that occurred to me in the charging time. Always make sure to have your batteries charge after a use if you can. Its a pain to have to keep them in line and charge them all up when you want to use the device, lol. I want to test this thing from the ground up and right now the only thing thats holding me back is these batteries. I may grab another charger and set of batteries just to keep in the car/be able to charge two sets at a time.

Finally after I got the batteries charged up some more and could test this again I found that loading it half way works best. Also a really fine grind works great, and gets you much more vapor throughout. I do get some material coming through when I inhale faster/harder which sucks and I would like to see in a future version a better screen. I have started to dial in my technique though and I feel that a 5 second warmup time is needed before each hit and I start off my inhale slow and gradually speed up. Still not sure which works better (faster draw vs slower draw) but as the batteries die I tend to start to take a slower hit or pause for a short second while hitting. I need to continue to work on this, but as of right now its not working as good as I would like it to. It works better than my MFLB as in quickness, but I find the MFLB to be much more efficient with a battery. This thing just sucks the life out fast. I do not get anywhere near the 10 hits people are saying.

A nice little thing people may also be interested in are these battery cases. I am pretty sure they will fit the batteries and I have some ordered and on the way. They have some other ones available where you can pick the color, but they are a little more expensive. I figured get the random colored ones cheaper and then you can easily distinguish between which batteries are used and which are fresh. I am not a fan of the battery case that is supplied mainly for the fact that I cant easily fit it in my pocket with the vape, its more bulky then the vape itself. Therefore I ordered these cases and I assume others will be interested in them too.

http://www.dealextreme.com/p/ultrafire-2-18650-4-cr123a-battery-protective-case-2-pack-18074

Started to browse the internet to see if I could find batteries cheaper and in bulk, or even a charger that could charge 4 batteries at once, not much luck yet, seems like they tend to be about 10 bucks a set of 2 batteries. Anyone link me to something good or is my best bet to go directly through TV?

I am most excited for the Revolution, I think that will make me Love this device, as of right now its a nice vape, but it just hasnt been perfected yet. I know I have not mastered the device yet, and I am sure I will enjoy it much much more once I do. I have both my Omicron and TV in my pocket on the go now but hope that will change once the Revolution comes out. For the most part though, I do think I enjoy it better than my MFLB or I-Olite. I just wish my ABV was darker as I do not think I am getting everything out of it yet.

I've had my Thermovape for over a week now so here is my review.

When I received the unit, it came packaged in a plastic container & I was able to use it straight out of the box. The packaging was very basic, but thank goodness the Vaporizer itself is well crafted.

I was able to get 6 milky Vapor Hits per bowl. The Vapor quality is certainly comparable to the WISPR in the sense of tasting the different types of herb. I used 3 different strains & I achieved a distinct flavor from each one.

From an ease of use standpoint this unit is very easy to operate. I unscrewed the top cap & placed my herb inside (somewhat grounded up) then I screwed the top back on and activated the heat by pushing up the heat switch (It was awesome, I felt like I was activating a lightsaber in star wars)

After 5 seconds of pushing the heat switch, I began to take consistent breaths for 10 seconds then I started to feel the Vapor. As a rule of thumb, I recommend breathing faster if you want a lighter vapor and do slow breaths for a thick milky hit!

On one battery I was able to get around 30 solid Vape rips, I think it was a pretty sweet idea to throw in 2 extra sets of batteries because it gives you around 100 hits.

The fail safe heat activation switch is great because I can keep it chilling in my pocket without having to worry about the vape turning on by itself.

I am very anxious to take this to the mountains because I know I'll be able to use this with no problems on the lift or when I take a smoke break in the trees!

Also, after watching the YouTube Videos I couldn't help myself so I put my Thermo to the Test. I dropped it on the ground 5 times then I dipped it inside a cup of water. Needless to say, I was stoked when it still worked!

Pros: Light Weight, Quick Heat Up, Durable, Discreet, Quality Vapor, Easy to Use, Fail Safe switch

Cons: After 30 draws, the unit itself gets kind of hot & you need to let it cool down for 5 mins, no carrying case

Overall, this vape was worth the $250 & I've already had two of my friends order them too! Thank goodness for an American Product that I can recommend.

I mentioned those earlier and TV said this,

Please be careful, Tenergy also makes a 900 mAh Li-Ion battery. This is a different chemistry then the LiFePO4 batteries we send with the device, they do not work. The charger made by Tenergy for that battery will not charge the LiFePO4.

I can't understand - why would you do that to a $200+ vaporizer?

I guess... if it broke... you could ask for a new one right?

What this vape needs is a power suply for use when at home :) (With a long cable!!!!)

Is it possible to order extra battery cases also?

EDIT: And any release date on the filter for the mouthpiece?

I know... but would you want to try to run over your ThermoVape with a car, or use it as a fetch toy? :)

Has anyone done a "run-down" test on one of these babies yet?

Fresh batteries,
Cap off,
Switch on and hold while timing how long it takes for the heater glow to die. (or depreciate to the point of not being able to provide the minimum required heat, if that could somehow be estimated)

Can anyone think of any reason that this might be unsafe to try?? :uhoh:

The Thermovape can also be used as a kubotan, originally developed it as a self-defense tool for police officers to restrain suspects without permanent injury; The principal areas for attacks in self-defense include bony, fleshy and nerve targets such as knuckles, forearms, bridge of the nose, shins, stomach, solar plexus, spine, temple, ribs, groin, neck, eyes etc.

My TV is on the truck for delivery right now. I am going to open it and do first use live via Skype with Vito. After that a period of testing and then my very first review on FC. Whatever happens, I promise it will be real. My hypothesis is that, just as with the MFLB, that proper starting material (not cut early, cured correctly, ground and DRY) and proper technique will be essential.

t-dub

Edit Any constructive suggestions regarding the review are MUCH welcome.

Edit: From their owners manual online: http://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0106/8282/files/user_guide_FINAL.pdf?1274

Quick Tips for Better Vapor

1. Turn the ThermoVape on by sliding the switch for 5 seconds
(for dry herbs) to 10 second (for moist herbs) before inhaling.
This will allow the heating core to warm up.

2. Coarsely ground herbs will vape better: Grinding or cutting
up your herbs will improve the quality of the vapor. Grind or
cut your herbs until they are the size of a BB (smaller thin a
pea) there is no need to finely grind your herb.

3. Take a long slow inhale/drag. Inhale slowly for 10-15
seconds. This may be slightly different than how you normally
inhale/drag from s pipe or other device. Start very slowly at
first, this phase of the inhale is warming the herb, then you
will begin to taste the herb and feel the vapor as you inhale,
during this part of the inhale you can inhale a little faster.
