I will make some 'cloudy' video upon receiving my unit next week

my average hit is maybe 15 to 20 seconds including heatup time...maybe 10 if the element is already pretty warm from previous hitsOF said:Anyway, of mighty source of useful observations, how long do you figure each of those 10 hits is taking in terms of key down battery use?

And it is getting it glowing hot as opposed to gently warming itOF said:SF Giant said:my average hit is maybe 15 to 20 seconds including heatup time...maybe 10 if the element is already pretty warm from previous hitsOF said:Anyway, of mighty source of useful observations, how long do you figure each of those 10 hits is taking in terms of key down battery use?
Thanks once again. So maybe 3 minutes total against 4 or so for the MFLB? Close enough for jazz.
I guess it makes sense it's going to be a bit slower, there's a lot more mass in the heater than in that thin mesh in the LB.

SF Giant said:Im with you for sure on the covection>conduction tip, im really digging this vape more and more as i get my technique down, i tried it for the first time with my bubbler tonight and was able to milk it damn near close to the rips i get from my SSV with a bit slower draw, still adjusting to being able to get such big dense hits while on the go, iv'e been caught off guard and over medicated a bit while out and about a couple times already lol
ThermoVape said:The ThermoVape kicks out 30 Watts, and certainly pushes the LiFePO4 batteries... But convection is superior IMO, no one is out buying conduction desk top units. You have to bathe the the flower in the hot air to really open it up and maximize the release of the active metabolites, that was our goal. We certainly could of achieved much longer run time with a conduction unit. However we just feel that technology is not for us... convection only.
OF said:Excellent points, no arguments. More so, there's great insight in them for those who follow. Yes, there's a HUGE difference between 30 Watts in the TV and the ten or so in the LB. This basically forces the LB to heat only part of the load (conduction). For sure 30 watts from two 123Rs is way way past design spec for them. With the TV we're looking for five Amps from a battery that is designed for a small fraction of that and can produce at most (dead short) 12 Amps. At this level, for instance, a full third of the power delivered goes to heating the battery, not the heater, let alone the weed. No, I agree, you've pushed about as far as is reasonable in the noble effort....efficiency is not a factor really.
The goal of vaporizing a reasonable amount of bud with a single battery set in a small easy to deal with package seems to not only have been a good goal but also met. Going for longer battery life would have meant sacrificing in more important areas.

zmurder said:I received my white Thermovape this afternoon. I've only done a couple bowls so don't really want to say much, besides: it works, and I like it.
A couple questions:
1. The unit is overall quite solid, but the batteries rattle slightly in their containing sleeve. Is this normal? Doesn't seem to be a problem.
2. The mouthpiece on the white version is plastic (or Delrin) which isn't shown on the website. Does the black version come with a metal mouthpiece, and the white with plastic?
I like the TV so far, and I'm already pretty sure it'll replace my MFLBs for portable use. I'll know more after I put it to the test on a 2-week trip starting next monday. Cheers!
the standard one fits snugly inside your average vape tubing, i cut a 1/2" piece and butted the mouthpiece right up to my gong adapter and it worked like a charmbiojuggernaut said:Which one would be the best to purchase to use with glass?
