So, has Thermovape stopped production of the glass adapters and mouthpieces and also the power adapter?
It's my understanding that both projects are for now 'hung up' on sole source outside vendors that can't produce the necessary parts for them. They depend on very few such 'mission critical' parts in general (making most of them 'in house') but I'd guess cannot control the business of their suppliers. If they can't get them, they can't get them.
I seem to recall a lot of delay getting the glass last time, short shipment with lots of rejects? To me that says the vendor is having troubles supplying what he thought he could at the agreed to price (the reject parts he has to 'eat'). If he lost a lot of money in the last batch, I can understand why he's not rushing out to loose even more? I'm just guessing here, but that's what I figure is holding up 'my' glass top. Hopefully more will be forthcoming.
When they can get them, I'm sure they'll be happy to pass them along to us customers. FWIW, I too am hoping they will get more glass in. I have a PA (and also have other options like Pipe's adapter and other supplies) but at least for now no glass top to play with.
Yeah it seems as though there priorities are somewhere else at this point. Luckily I managed to cancel my orders about a month after I placed them after receiving no word from the company.
I don't think that's a fair characterization. I suspect few do.
It's true they don't seem interested in compromising their standards and going with sub par quality or abandoning their 'made in USA' stand to get a few extra sales, but personally I consider that not only their business decision to make but kind of refreshing really.
I think their priorities
remain to provide the finest available gear, as far as possible made in the USA, to their customers
without compromises. Nothing has really changed (except they can't get the parts we'd all like them to be able to get). I find no fault with that attitude.
