if for any reason you felt youd like a finer grit the tape you bought should peel off just fine. the stuff i mentioned would be about as course as an emory board... maybe a tad more course, but not far off.

Huh... all this grip tape talk has got me thinking. For some reason, I haven't had any switch problems for the last couple months. I used to have all sorts of troubles, and would be using my thumb nail to prop the switch up. Grip tape would have been perfect for me then. However, it almost seems like my T1 is getting seasoned or something now. I work in a very dirty environment, and my hands are always oily and not clean unless I scrub them raw. I wipe down and brush my T1 almost daily, but my battery sleeve must be building up a thin layer of sorts that is providing more grip. But it looks clean, and my switch still activates effortlessly...
I don't quite understand it. Anyone else not using grip tape notice traction on their switch getting better with time?

I've noticed an increase in production if I let the vape heat up for 30 seconds before my first hit. I get a big cloud on the first one and if I vape the bowl quickly enough it retains a lot of heat from the initial heat up and gives me large clouds throughout.

You should be good with shorty's grip tape.
I have posted this before but nothing wrong with a refresh. For a quick cheap (like me) midterm solution I picked these up at the dollar store. Work fine for me and I remove nightly for the PA time of day. Usually can use over again once or twice. I started liking the rough side first but as started running down and using the soft side, I like them better now...And now trim the edges to make an oval.
They are velcro precut circles.

it will provide more protection than nothing at all, but will still get hot. im going to try to find the part number for the adhesive backed rubber i use. its great.

It comes in pairs for a reason. You can use it either way (hook or loop on the slide) but you're supposed to put the other one on your thumb. Just be sure your thumb is clean so it'll stick well. Makes it very easy hold the TV on and keeps your thumb cool.
Sometimes it's a little hard to put down, at least with one hand. And it does give you another option at 'secret signs' to signal to other TV owners in public places......
Get it together up there, will you? I mean I've got other things to do besides explaining the obvious.....

Problem:
There is something wrong with my thermovape. It does not work most of the time. Even with brand new batteries and a brand new heater core. I have to shake the device, hit it against my hand and/or twist the sleeve and then it works, and i have to do this every time. Its very annoying, can someone identify the problem?

I had the exact same problem. I would hold the battery sleeve up and it wouldn't light until I twisted it a bit. The problem is a switch issue. Just have TV resend you a switch and it will work like new again. Thats from my experience at least!

Sounds like a switch placement problem to me. Take your switch and o-ring out of the bottom of your thermocore interface piece. Put the o-ring back in first, utilizing a small tool to make sure it is placed all the way forward against the counter-bore. Then install the switch. Also, make sure your thermocore is screwed all the way in. If you can see any o-ring, its not tight enough.

I agree, it's a switch issue most likely. Had a couple myself. There was a problem with some early on (debris from pressing the contacts in being trapped inside IIRC) but they should all be out of the system long ago.
The key, I think, is with the ring. If it's twisted it can spring back pushing the switch back out of contact.
A neat way to seat the ring is to reverse the switch, use the large end to push the ring to the bottom of the bore, then remove, reverse it and push it home. No screwdrivers or other tools needed.
You should not have to fight with it, if you are, something else is up.

The newer sleeves are tighter and you have to boil them to get them to loosen up to move... I had to do this recently.

Yup, I like the video too. And while he stripped it with 'no tools' he did use the pen rather than a screwdriver to poke it down on one side at a time. A more positive way is to push it down with a full diameter tool (so it goes down square and can't spring back), and you have just such a tool on the deck close at hand. It's like designing a military rifle so the tools necessary to routine service are included?
You don't have to use the back end of the switch but I think you should consider it?

I've spent the past few days reading this ENTIRE thread. I laughed, I cried, then I laughed some more. There was even slight drama!
Two months ago, I began my vaporizing adventures by going full-out and buying a Volcano. While I had attempted vaporizing before, I had no success with inferior products. Quitting smoking is the best thing I have ever done. Unfortunately, the Volcano is NOT portable...at all haha.
After doing a lot of research, and a butt-load of reading, I placed the order for my TV today. If I lived in a medical state, I would TOTALLY gone for the Revolution. But alas, no oils here =(
My item SHOULD be here Thursday, and I can already tell I'm going to have an awesome weekend. Thanks ThermoVape for being such an incredible company. Reading your professional responses to this thread made me even more excited to order the product.

Togepi ... I too am fortunate enough to own a volcano and TV .. and they both do wonders for me.
I just love the way i can now do convection vaping at a freinds house and not have to resort to Smoking.. havent combusted for a year now and am never turning back.. Tho the only annoying thing with this light sabre spacey looking TV device.. is everyone wants a go on it, and i would say its not the best party tool, sharing between 2 is just about do-able.
The volcano uses 100 watts so it will obviously produce a much more golden and even coloring, yet the Thermovape seems to produce some dark brown bits due to the air holes and the way they work, it really is crucial to shake or stir or tap into hand and back into the bowl in-between hits...
I don't know about any one else but is it just me.. i can only seem to get about 4 - 5 hits before the bowl is tasting at its end of life and batteries aren't cutting the mustard.
I too favour TV's Customer service ... makes such a fresh difference to see a company so professional and cool.
Now all we need is this usb/ac power adaptor

Wow man, thanks for the awesome post. Some of that I had read, but some of that was good advice.
Something I'm curious about, I began making my own tincture today. I'm doing it the slow way, so it's going to be a while. I read that there's the liquid attachment for it, but that won't do anything to increase the battery life to the Revolution's, right? I really like the idea of a long lasting battery, and if the Revolution is the only way to do it, I'll have to buy one of those too. (I would just have to get the liquid attachment for that one).

Hey, just wanted to chime in but ive never heard of tincture being used in the revolution. It is more for oils, concentrates as far as i know.
LOL, I tried it on my thumb but it kept coming off. Maybe needed to be cleaner.
Actually, I prefer the soft side as when I was using the rough side the dang thing would stick inside the soft sleeve in the pouch..And turned it on on me once before I got wise to it.
A dab of crazy glue on the thumb would work too. And need no excuses as to not sharing it...
