Discontinued Thermovape Cera

Do not like it personally. Easy breakage considering the angle on how you will need to press the Cera on the glass piece — it will break fast. So it is the wrong direction. If you take the Cera and press 'down' on the glass joint your Cera is working with your piece's angles. Far less likely to break.

EDIT same topic: For the life of me I can't see the advantage of using the Cera with a glass bubbler. I tried it and all I can say is that it was not as good as a plain old Cera which tastes far better alone. In fact I have put all my glass away. Just sayin'

I like using it with glass when the UFO mouth piece gets uncomfortably hot. Great for group scenarios. Solo use is usually with just the Cera.

Great point there. I'd previously thought that water filtration wasn't necessary with the CLL due to how comfortable the vapor is from the UFO. But share-ability in groups of three or more, especially in the company of those inexperienced with Cera and/or vapor, is one concern I had kept in mind. Using water filtration to distance people from the mouthpiece seems like a pretty simple and effective solution. A pre-existing one, at least. An open flow mouthpiece mod would likely be ideal here, and with a whip attached you could even handle holding the Cera yourself and hand the glass to someone else, so you don't have to worry about someone not holding the power enough or holding Cera too high and getting burned.

Where I previously couldn't see the CLL performing well in a large group setting, I kinda can now. Cool.

Another useful mod here would be a vapor lung. I might try rigging one up…

Head on over to the ThermoVape Revolution thread, and welcome aboard! They're hard to find because TV stopped making them to focus all their shop time on the Cera ;)

Most likely because they've been out of production for over half a year. The odd few are still showing up from old stock at individual shops but that's getting really rare.

Eventually adapters for the Cera EO cart should fill some of this market.

Some of you may remember the stand I mentioned a few weeks back. Well after a long trip from Ukraine, it's arrived.

Looked so nice I felt like taking some fancy pictures.

P.S. Notice the behind picture, Cera fits perfectly in the groove. ALSO I had to attach that blue foam pad inside because normally it is just a hole, and the weight of the Cera pushes it over. But with a simple fix and the blue foam pad for protection, the weight now keeps it upwards and perfectly stable.

ALSO, it matches my VapeStation perfectly. Even down to the brass fittings.

Hello everyone, just wanted to post some more pics of my latest wrap on the cera,Iam 98% happy with this one!!!!!!
I heat shrinked cera in black, and poked the air holes from the inside of the cera body with the cart removed............................I ran out of black heat shrink so I temporarily wrapped the mouth piece in white , I just ordered some more black to finish off the mouth piece in black!!!

Nice! I definitely like the heat shrink idea to add some colour to the bland white.

Is this fairly easy to do? Applying heatshrink i mean.

Ugh, still want one SO bad...but I am holding off till the Mini. I dont care how long I have to wait, I am going to do it. ha.

Interesting idea, but you could cool it much faster running some water over it in the sink I bet? Water cooling beats air cooling hands down.

I'm digging up old posts again, but I tried this out recently. I ran the mouthpiece and top cap under the tap and it cooled them off quick! I just put my finger over the MP hole and kept it upright to keep much water from getting inside.

The first time I tried it, I had the heat shield over the top edge of the set up and my finger covering the entrance to that. When I did that, the top cap cooled off quick while the floating MP actually stayed hot! Pretty cool to see that insulating heat gap between the top cap and MP working in reverse.

If you look back at my first & second attempts they were just OK, This one looks almost perfect!!!
You wouldn't believe how easy it is, I bought the 1 inch heat shrink $1.98 a foot(1 foot can wrap approx. 2) ceras), I used a photo/paper cutter to cut the heat shrink straight, eyeballed it, passed my heatgun over it & it was done so quickly, total time = 5 1/2 minutes !!!!
You can even use a lighter very carefully to heat shrink, Ive seen it done lol lol !!!!!!

Very nice. A suggestion to square up the ends next time? Cut the tube a little long (like you did on the bottom end, shrink it down, and while it's still hot trim it off with a razor blade against the solid edge below. Just set the side of the blade against the metal and slice into the tube. When hot, it's pretty soft and slices very easily and neatly.

As you've discovered just because it's square when cold and expanded it won't necessarily be shrunk down.

Nice! Does the wrap keep the Cera cool to the touch while it's operating? Not sure if you can answer this since you are using EO. But with the LL, I find that the cap gets very hot to the touch and is sometimes a challenge to take off to look at or change the load. I have a piece of rubber on the cap, and it helps, but wondering if there are better options.

Great Scott!
No downsides to wrapping it in shrink wrap?

I find the temp to be just fine with the plastic condom on the mouthpiece, but I might wrap this thing simply to change the color.

Better yet...any downsides to wrapping it in something like that fake carbon fiber vinyl? It should all be out of the air path, but I like to play things safe and ask first.

I don't mind that it looks like a vibrator, but my friends bitch about it. If that is their biggest complaint then I suppose it is doing a great job.

In my opinion and experience with heat shrink tubing, the results were similar to cheap cell phone cases. It made my high tech device feel and look kind of jank, which is not what I am going for. I don't like the way the holes look punched out, and the thickness diameter fluctuations and end cuts slightly being uneven due to the nature of slicing and heating by hand.

Also the clean nature makes it kind of seamless, I don't know, it's just my own quirk but the wrap says you got something to hide  less is more

I've expanded the mods section of our Vaporpedia page to showcase the great work being done here and convey some of the possibilities offered by modification. If this can stay up to date it'll be much easier when you want to find some old post that had a cool idea. Let me know if I've left anything out or flubbed any details.

…Just added a few more!

I just want to thank BLAZING OG again for posting that ".07 dab with a clean cartridge" video last night. I think this is easily one of the most helpful videos of the Cera EO yet given it was my own direct request :p

To give some info on it to make it just as helpful for everyone else who uses concentrates in the same fashion I do:

I typically carry 4-5 different concentrates on me. Usually I'll have a sativa dominant hybrid for daytime use when I'm experiencing mild symptoms, a 50/50 hybrid for daytime use when my symptoms are a little worse, an indica dominant hybrid for the late afternoon and early evening, and then a heavy indica for nighttime. What worried me about the Cera was that I was hearing it works best with a big load around .25-.5. Well, when I only need .05-.07 of a single concentrate at a time, having to load .25 would just be a waste given that a couple hours later I'd need to hit a different strain. So if that was the case, then the Cera wasn't for me. I had been PMing BLAZING with questions regarding the Cera since I had seen his previous couple videos on here and he was more than helpful in answering all my questions. Then yesterday I asked him if he could do a test for me by giving his cartridge a thorough cleaning and then taking a video using a small "load as you go" type dab so I could see how the Cera would perform under my usual conditions. As his video has now shown, WOW! Those were some monster hits for a .07 dab AND it was a cleaned cartridge as evidenced by him running it dry without any vapor coming out prior to loading the dab. So it looks to me like the Cera can function rather, or should I say exceptionally, well with a dab of that size! I think this is good news for everyone because it shows the Cera seems to be able to do what you ask of it. I can't wait to try my own :mmmm:

Hey steama, where did you find the #35 silicone you talk about using as a heat shield? Is it similar to these? I think they were posted a little before you shared your solution, I'm not sure if they're related. I'm having trouble finding what size #35 corresponds to, also. Thanks in advance!

Quick question...I have been scouring the ends of the earth for a switch that's rated for 10A resistive, 19mm, latching, < 25 MM total height, non-illuminated, stainless steel, normally closed. I've scoured ThomasNet, Alibaba, PDF-based catalogs from manufacturers, eBay, Amazon, message boards, etc with no luck.

I was doing some research and I noticed on this page that the battery only put out 4.7A even though it's technically supposed to be putting out 10A. Is that because the cart can only draw 4.7A? Sorry I have no idea how this works. If I only have to worry about 4.7A I can get a 5A switch which is easier to find.

I bought some of these copper springs for $2 on eBay. Looking to make a proper switch that isn't a fire hazard.

BTW the custom mouthpieces were sent off to be glazed yesterday. I'm told they should ship today sometime. I will be sending out individual PMs to work out logistics (addresses, payment, etc) once I have a tracking number from the manufacturer. I have everything else in-hand (ceramic screens, high quality O-rings, small cardboard boxes).

Assuming that you're using a freshly charged battery, which puts out 4.0V under Cera loads, and the most "hungry" of the Cera cores (the e-juice core) which draws ~16 Watts, then you should be fine with a 5 amp switch. The e-juice core will be drawing about 4 Amps. As the battery charge goes down, the current being drawn will also go down.

The battery is capable of putting out 10 Amps; that doesn't mean it's going to with the Cera core.
