Onward Thru the Fog
My take on the two rings is the lower one seals the core into the body like the current one does in T1. The upper one retains the cover (taking the place of the threads) and the third one seals the MP to the cover. Wobble might be possible, but I tend to think not.
Just guesses, of course....

Hmm. Check out this picture. Maybe they didn't screw down the core all the way, but if they did, the two O-Rings are well above the body:
I figure that the mouthpiece will be sitting right on top of the bowl, and the four notches will be the vapor path from the core, then going into the four holes in the side of the UFO. The cover will provide maybe a half mm gap around the core/mouthpiece "connection" and the design of the mouthpiece and cover will make sure the bottom of the mouthpiece is centered properly on the top of the core. Hard to take measurements with the pictures we have, but if I guess about the height of the exposed bowl in the above picture, and add the height of the mouthpiece below the O-Ring, it looks to be about the right size to fit in the cover.
Oh, and you don't need a seal on that part of the gizmo anyway, that path only leads to the input side of the core; it's blocked by the two (or one, if you're right) O-Rings from getting to the output path. Any leakage will just add to what's coming in via the eight holes around the body.
Kind of nice that the herb will be completely surrounded on all sides by ceramic.
As you said, Just guesses, of course.
I wonder if the inside of the cover is smooth, or has groves to channel the vapor...
