So, hows everyone liking their new wdz, which they should have by now im guessin?
I just got my replacement power adapter from Todd, which was very cool of him to send out free of charge, even tho they're made by a 3rd party and he's not responsible for quality control on them.
Over the past few weeks of regular use with the wdz, i've developed quite the liking for it, as well as a bit of technique. I usually grind up .5g at a time, using a couple twists in both directions with my 2piece, and put it in my stash container. This is my daily allotment that i dont let myself exceed. But i'll say that, as long as the herb is good, there will more often than not be half of this amount still left the following day)
I just suck my stems up directly out of the little pile in it. Sometimes i try to load them so that they're SLIGHTLY overfull and lightly pack it down in. Other times i find this restricts the airflow way too much, especially with certain types of herb. So what i do then is load it till its slightly overfilled and then pull out the bit thats sticking out the end. Holding the unit horizontally during hits keeps it in place even tho its not packed tight.
I start off with a normal inhale speed and then get slower with each progressive hit. About half way through the stem (2-3 hits in), i will dump out the stem out in a line along the fold of a folded piece of paper, and then suck it back up going in the same direct. This way the stuff that was closest to heat is now in the back and vice versa. I find that doing this makes the next hit or 2 much more satisfying than it would otherwise be. If the herb doesnt dump out easily by tapping it, i use a ssv pick to (carefully, so as not to damage the screen) dislodge what remains and then tap out.
Also, I buttered up the wdz for the first time, and, I must say, she's looking better than ever. Darker with a nice dull reflective glow to it.
I've also found the can coozy thing to be unnecessary and that it creates very little difference in the end. The only thing i use it for now is if i'm transporting the wdz unplugged from one location to the next, to help it retain heat while unplugged. Putting it on upsidedown seems more effective for this use. I also definitely like handling the naked log better than with the thing on it. Just a nice, smooth warm texture and thinner diameter makes it nicer to hold.
but yeah, with good herb, this thing kicks ass!
