I just re-read what I posted and I truly don't see how I implied that in any way.

The frustration of having a broken vape and/or problems with customer service is understandable. I just feel it's preferable that vape model threads don't turn into customer service threads. The grievances have been stated here already and I think that going back and forth here is going to generate more hostility among members than resolutions. That's why I suggested for a time out for everyone to chill out a bit.

fully agree, sorry for bad context, i re-arranged my wording so that it more appropriately reflects what i was saying. i was in NO way saying that YOU were implying anything about me at all, but because of that portrayal by others i felt the need to speak up. i was apologizing to you for talking at all after you asked us to drop. you have been and are a great mod! sorry for confusion!

Thank you for clarifying, I'm glad it was just a misunderstanding. :)

I think there's a lot of misunderstanding going on here and that tends to cause problems. If you guys can come up with a short list of very specific questions/concerns I'll try to get some answers for you. Let's try to limit it to 5 concise items. One sentence each.

Please work them out in private and then have one person post them here. Until then let's take a breather. :peace:

Note: I just removed some posts after this which unfortunately were still off the rails. Sorry folks, but if you have an issue with another member please take it up with them in a private conversation. Thank you!

I can't complain on the customer service displayed from both PV and sublimator.ca, anytime I had issues with the Apollo or the enailer I have been more than taken care of, and in a respectable time. PV and sublimator keep on keeping on!

Smooth sailing while I'm inhaling... VAPOR
So my wattage has started to drop recently and i get still get 40 watz and dark coffee brown avb.
I am not complaining because I believe my wattage will eventually go up again like most peoples has.
I am curious what the lowest wattage people have had luck with using concentrates because right now I do not feel I am getting as much as I could with my concentrates or sublimate.

Consequently my sublimate has increased a lot. I just wish I could use it in the sub. Thankfully my EVO does concentrates really well. Again I am not hatin I still get really sublimated with my sublimator and I wanna show the sub love:rockon::bigleaf:

  • My sub is maxing out at about 32 watts. Just tried to do a double decker and it was not hot enough. I want to hit some sublimate,so I busted out the HE ti nail. This is where things got interesting.

I use my glass tube dry with the Apollo. I had not cleaned my bong in about a month, so there was a lot of sublimate in it. I did not want to rinse with iso becuase I dont like evaping iso.

I took my tube, filled half way with hot water,Shook, then pourred into stainless steel bowl. Then anything got stuck on the top of the joint was collected. The ss bowl is coated as well. Needs a scrape. I have almost two grams of wet solvent free sublimate that tastes, smells, and looks amazing. Gonna try to do an oven purge to get rid of the water. Pretty psyched, although I have to dab without my Apollo.

About 40 watts is where you want to be. Maybe even higger.

This water collected sublimate is awesome. So clean so citrusy.

Not too reopen the topic but just to give some information directly from Enrico:

If you bought your device from a retailer other than ourselves or PV you are still covered. You can take your device back to the retailer, they will replace it there and have the old unit shipped back with the cost being the responsibility of the customer. For any confusion our retailers may have had we are working to clear this up.

Again, if you need assistance we are here to help but it will work alot more efficiently if you reach out to us directly, if you feel you're not getting the service you would like there are more than one of us to speak with. I don't always have time to monitor the public side of the forum so if you're in need of immediate assistance please email or private message me.

We look forward to hearing the questions @vtac will be collecting and we will work hard to clear up any issues or confusion people may have. I do apologize to those of you frustrated, we are doing our very best as a small team to work out all the kinks and issues.

Have a great week everyone.

Mine is still maxing in the high 50's but I really just like to leave it set around 30 -31 at all times, and just leave mine on (no timer). Sorry to those who are having issues, I do wonder if keeping mine at a fairly steady temp has anything to do with its longevity.

Looks like good times in the 'Dam...

I have noticed this thing extracts very well also. noon position is my fave temp to go at.

I have been enjoying my sublimator since I got it back in the summer. but I noticed that my herb useage had really gone up. with the sub, I can hit my bowl 3x and then i find no point. the vapor from the sub after that is not worth it anymore. and to turn the temp up takes too long to notice the difference.
The sub gives me thick and tasty rips, and the abv comes out golden brownish.

With the evo, my herbs come out significantly darker. and I must say I am feeling those effects. I assumed the sub had destroyed my tolerance because of amount of herb I was going through. but this high I am getting from the evo is profound. a little too much even. I've had to put it away because I found myself over doing it a little. I think the evo is extracting the herbs more fully than I am doing with my routine with the sub.

Don't get me wrong. I still really like my sub too. but for now the evo is the one I'll be doing most of my "testing" with :)

@weedmon i pulled your quoted from a different thread because i thought it would be more appropriate to talk about here - hope you don't mind im dragging you into a conversation!

firstly, i have had the opposite experience as far as usage with the sub - i use significantly less. i think the reason has to do with your technique with the sub. it seems to me that you are not using the sub optimally because the sub is designed to sublimate (flash vape?) your load in one go.

i can flash vape in my solo (made it into a one hitter) by turning up the heat to 7 and putting an empty glass pvhes stem (with a domed screen in it to make the bowl even smaller) to warm up until the sole hits 7. once at 7 i load the stem and its a one and done experience! i have noticed that if the glass stem isnot hot enough i will get a dissapointing hit. i think the same tech works even better with the sub!

so for the sub;
im not sure what screens your using but a fine screen down low and a medium coarse screen ontop will allow for maximum airflow. i think this tech adjusts the ratio of conduction vs convection vapor a lot more into the convection side because the stock screen holds a lot more heat and it is in direct contact with the vaporizables.

now with more airflow you need more heat. turn it up! i run mine about 27-30 watts on my meter - seems lower than others but i get the abv as dark as i want. also, i never touch the dial once its set to where i like it, except to turn it off at night.

next you want to make sure the atomizer is always kept at the optimal vaping temp. this is where the sub buddy is key, becuase the apollo can sit in the atomizer and keep everything temp equalized. the apollo should spend the minimal amount of time off of the atomizer as possible! so make sure the stand is near by, pregrind, and use a measuring spoon! the spoon is key because it allows you to drop the vaporizables directly on the screen without touching the walls of the atomizer. you only want to cover the screen - my load size is approx 0.05g - 0.08g. i use a 'dash' measuring spoon - i think @Bob Loblaw uses a pinch - which is about double - he must have iron lungs!

the spoon allows you to load fast and keep the atomizer temp stabilized. then you just milk it!

this ashtray is awesome;
image_967.jpg

you can just tap the atomizer on the black part and the abv falls into the ashtray! with the screen jammed in there only the abv comes out! takes two seconds to empty the bowl. then you reload and replace the apollo and milk it again!

i guarantee you you will get medicated faster than an evo - even with preloaded elbs!

I bet @shredhead only gets 2 bowls in him tonight!

@jambandphan03 i hope your right!

actually, i use a hint. all is dark coffee other than a thin layer of dark tobacco on top. been at it too long.

i agree that weedemon's technique/temp might increase his success w/ the sub and that it is an easier load.

have yet to do a proper EVO comparison so i can't say anything about that yet, however the cloud did deliver very similar hits w/ a more full spectrum high as less cbd's were lost to sublimate (since it doesn't exist). my two cents for now

Things are still ticking along fine with me and my Sub ... my Sub maxes out at ~45W. I've been keeping it on pretty much 24/7 at a power level of 23-27W (my preferred temp) and its been plugging along well. (I do miss my Cloud though)

Sorry for this double post, but I could barley comprehend what was happening last night:ko:. So I got home around midnight, had a bite to eat, then I brought out the sub. As soon as I brought it out I thought "can I do my usual 3 bowls and a couple sublimate hits?". It worried me just a little, but also excited me. First sub hit went down smooth and same with second. "hmm this is too easy" I thought. So I grabbed a dab of sublimate and hit that about 5 min after. 5 min after that I felt as tho I was in another dimension. My head was pulsating(in a good way) and my legs were buzzing with numbness. I don't think I have been this high for 8 years. I felt as tho I was on something way harder then bud. This only lasted 15min and then the high chilled out. But my body was on a cloud the rest of the night. First time truly feeling what someone who has no idea what they are getting into would feel. Now I gotta get used to this high again so I can be functional!!!:peace::ko::peace:

^YEEEHAAWW! sublimator = devastator!

@JCat im surprised to hear you say you miss your cloud - i don't. when the cloud worked it was the best in my aresenal (i didn't have a sublimator at the time), but the reliability, the return shipping costs, and the lack of the ability to carry out warranty work, have coloured my opinion of the vxc crew. even when it did work as designed i had to come up with a few workarounds like a wemo, to get around the timer, and i used an ash catcher in order to try and keep my tubes clean. think of an ssv and how the wand catches all the downstream particulate, well the vxc would just spit all that into my tube (wasted).

side note; i don't think that the sublimator necessarily produces more sublimate than any other vape - it just allows you to collect All of it very easily.

i must admit i am tempted by the new evo as the reviews sound promising - but so did the clouds in the beginning. im especially interested in what @weedemon and @Bob Loblaw have to say about both the sublimator and the evo! but my wallet will remain in my pocket until i see how the vxc crew handles the next six months or so. as of right now the sublimator is all i want or need at home so i must admit im not that tempted to buy another $500 vape.

Enrich looked drunk as hell in he beginning of that video lol

i skipped through most of the vid, but i did notice that it seemed like all they were doing was dabs? why is using the apollo for dabs? he should be using the adapt a nail!

also, did anyone catch sight of the apollo, looks like they had a prototype heat shield on it!

thx for the suggestions @notmyrealUSERname I appreciate the tips. :)

here is how i use my sub:

I built a coil so that I can have my atomizer and the apollo together on it at the same time [all the time]. (there is a pic of it in this thread many many pages back somewhere)

I also use a fine screen on the bottom, and a coarse one on the top. (gotta ensure the sublimate it's making is of optimal quality)

I have a sweet spot on the sub that I like. and the flavour of the hits are strong, giving me 3 hits before the vapor trails off)

I use about 0.1-0.3g per bowl I load so I wonder if this is a big part of the difference between number of hits im getting compared to a "1 hit and quit it" style.

I never adjust my temp unless im going to vape some sublimate.

by the end of the day here is what i have noticed about the sub vs the evo.

the evo gets me "higher" than the sub does using less herbs than the sub does. yes my technique seems to be a factor in this. but the main difference i have noticed is the evo seems to be able to vape at lower temps and yet act as if it was vaping on a higher temp (I use noon on the dial only)

I will do a better write up (with more detail and observations) when I have both ready to do a side by side comparison :)

I should get some buddies over for more opinions when i do it.

if people are on the fence between the 2, I say you won't go wrong with either! both are a really really good vaporizer!

Ya I gotta say the sublimator only shines at high temps with small loads, if you want to conserve like a UD would. That's what IMO is best for my style of Vaping. I've always liked one hit and I'm done (mostly due to taste, I don't like popcorn hits so if I get it all in one that's better). All of my at home vapes are logs and then the sub. All one hitters if you want them to be. All total extraction. It's just a preference. Some people like being able to load enough to pass around or hit at their leisure and some like me. It's why we all vape. But I gotta say the sub really shines with high temps and 0.05-0.02 loads.

You keep saying this resinhead guy was denied warranty service yet what you posted was him just being impatient. Maybe you have trouble reading? No where in that post did it say they were denying his warranty? It just said that he had to go through the vendor(ie where he bought it from). Now we are done hearing about it. If you have a warranty problem take it up with your vendor or sublimator. Now back to sublimating!

The vendor has been giving me the run around and so has sublimator.ca. My sublimator timer switch is now buzzing horribly like grokits. The wattage keeps dropping and it seems like the people on this forum have ulterior motives. I love my sub, but this is just ridiculous.

Please elaborate.

I agree with you completely. I've found that the Sub works best with small loads (0.05-0.1g) at a high enough temp to leave the ABV looking similar to coffee grounds (i.e., brown to dark brown, but anything darker would mean too much heat). With that size load, I always get one big hit and, maybe, another very small one. Also, letting the Sub fully warm-up is really important. The best way I've found to make certain that it's up to temp is to wet one finger and touch the Atomizer by the handle. If it sizzles, it's ready. I got my Sub in September and it maxes at 61 Watts and my favorite spot for flowers is 34-38 Watts. 38 Watts is nice because Sublimate can be used at that temp.

I'm Gonna have to try this next time! :) i found the larger loads were more tasty and that's why I've been sticking with that. will try the "micro load" next time :)

@weedemon: I agree that a larger load tastes better. And, if you're one of those guys making YouTube videos that has seemingly unlimited amounts of the best materials in which to partake, I'd say that doing it your way would be best (their ABV looks like it's only half-vaped). But, for the best balance between maximum extraction and best taste, I think it's best to use 0.1g or less. Further, I don't think you sacrifice that much flavor, but you definitely get a much stronger effect, which is what people vape for after all.

My average load is between 0.3 and 0.4. I treat it like a combustion bong, I like to do one BIG quick one that leaves me sweating :D. I put it on a really high temp so that it teeters on combustion. It comes out near black in 1-2 hits and leaves you sweating with your ears ringing every time. Clean screens and medium coarse grind for good flow, and professionals only!
