Sweet, thank you. It seems like a lot of the beta-testers are using the Mini eVic VTC 75 W mod or am I wrong?
Evic mini is popular as you can load custom firmware such as @funkyjunky

Yeah, as much as I would LOVE to avoid learning about mods, they are in my future (as I MUST have Splinter) so limiting my exposure is the best I can do.
At least it appears that Splinter will not NEED temp control, so simple wattage control should be enough allowing for cheaper mods. Not being an ecig guy I would just as soon not throw a lot of $$ at this...
Thats what I bought. It was only $40. Im gonna make a wood housing for it!Sweet, thank you. It seems like a lot of the beta-testers are using the Mini eVic VTC 75 W mod or am I wrong?
Yeah that's a lot of bodies, more than the beta program (which we haven't gotten to yet, right? Just a couple out in the world I thought) so I guess the diameter is set. That's good, further along than I'd expected.
I paid $40 shipped from a U.S. based source.Thats for just the mod no atomizer. Don't care! Don't use juice! Be aware, though, there are a lot of sites selling clones! My evic vtwo mini was $36 with epacket shipping from fasttech. Might take a while to arrive but there is no ETA from RBT yet.
Well, I don't know it. I just assumed it from the earlier discussions we had about it and the comments like "At least we won't need the more expensive TC mods"... (paraphrase)I don't know why you think TC mods are that much pricier.
I have an evic mini 75w ($40ish on eBay, I think) for bubble hash. Haven’t tried temp control, so can’t say how much more awesomer it is, but can say wattage control is really easy - each device has a range, very little experimentation needed to find your place in that range, plus you modulate w breath control.Well, I don't know it. Well I disagree. Been using tons of different on demand convection vapes, and I have troubles getting back to unregulated or just power regulated ones. TC (when it works) is so much better. If I have the choice I don't hesitate a single second.
Any mod based on the DNA chipset. I don't recommend the trifecta supported by ArticFox anymore (joyetech / Wismec / eLeaf) as it's really a cheap substitute and I keep having weird issues with them (but they are okish entry level mods and their price can't be beaten)
I'm having great results with the Smoant Knight v2 also, but it doesn't accept attachments over 23.5mm (so iHeat and Splinter are out)
@KeroZen out of interest - what would be your mod of choice?
I wish I knew more about these mods but not being an E juicer I just went with what I thought would be O.K. I figured since @funkyjunky used these on the Tubo that they would work pretty good. I know he has some decent firmware recommendations on his site. We'll see!Any mod based on the DNA chipset.
