Wonder if I should cancel my walnut order, or keep it and sell it when new Splinters are released .. like what I did with 3 generations of Milaanas.

I think it's a smaller version of the Zion heater.
So I think we can summarize the Splinter as:
|A vape that fulfills a similar function as the Zion except a slightly smaller heater, being a smaller surface area, resulting in slightly less robust hits due to slightly less backed up hot air.
Should have slightly stabler temperature control being able to choose the wattage and having a box mod designed to hold that power efficiently.|
As for the possible smaller heater .. it may not even make a difference because there comes a point when size doesn't matter and heat must just be administered efficiently.

I think it's slightly different design because I hear
"I got 1 with a Milaana heater and 1 with a miniature Zion heater"
On the website it also specifies "miniature Zion heater" under the Splinter description but not under Milaana.

Smaller Zion heater w/ turbulator is the current state of things, but final specs haven't been officially announced. Development was paused while catching up w/ Zion orders, which just happened, right? So Splinter is next, mini-Zion w/ onboard battery status and usb charging (ie standard mod features) sounds awesome, I think it'll be a breakout hit, I don't think the coils of the other projects can compete w/ RBT's steel mesh heater tech.

Well, not completely. Ryan has to wait for wiring harnesses to arrive for the last batch, and fix a couple that had a chip problem that now seems to be resolved. So he has been catching up on Milaana orders which is the only thing bringing in any money (oof). I don't know if he is back on Splinter yet. I know he's "testing" it as one can witness if you catch him working on IG.

The latest beta versions look a lot better than the early splinter. The wood finish is really nice on the maple.
Looking forward to getting my hands on one.

Sweet now we just need it to fit in a side by side mod and we are golden.
I really don't see that happening as it stands now. Not sure you will be able to scale the Splinter down without some significant performance gaps.

I have done my measurements. The lack of SBS compatability does not bother me. My mod with divine tribe fits in my pocket fine. It wont be much bigger than that. Ryan said just over 2inches on IG.
Out of all the new and up and coming vapes - this one excites me the most. This really couod be a game changer in my opinion.

Some more splinter porn with my "beta" or "alpha" whatever you want to call it unit lol.
This video is kinda shitty but I'll still post it. I was super baked and I say there's .1 to .15 in the bowl when there is less than .1 in there. I am also working on getting a better background for my videos, if there was something dark behind my water pipe you would see how thick these clouds are. Refer to my last video with a slightly better background; the clouds are as thick or thicker than that, lighting just sucks. Love the splinter. Milky great tasting clouds, on demand with no stirring
New models with TC spund interesting. That will be amazing but in my opinion not NECESSARY because it works so well in wattage mode but still amazing. Gonna be a hard portable to beat with exact temp control, on demand convection with a display, swappable batteries and the things we love about RBT vapes like huge clouds, amazing flavor and then no stirring because of the turbulater.
I'm very exited for the future of the splinter and I'm also very happy to enjoy this beta unit while I can

Wood looks nice.
However does not have a temp control mode.
Does not have upgradable firmware. @funkyjunky has great software for the tubo. Cruise mode could be very cool with the splinter.
For that reason i prefer to stick with a joytech or wismec.
I thought TC was for Temp Control?

Ryan's been on instagram live lately showing off TC working with the Splinter... Looks like it's coming along really well. He was getting really good performance from what I could see. Cloudy as hell, and he had his load VERY close to the heater. Literally at the end of the joint. AND using it thru a waterpiece but it looked pretty even when he showed the roasted herb off. I think he was at 345 or something.
