I would like to know if there is a slight difference performance wise between the splinter V1 and V2?
The Vapefiend 420 deal on the V1 is particularly attractive. I plan to match my splinter with a lost vape paranormal dna 250C gunmetal/pearl fish by the way, so the wood color wouldn't match as well but I don't care if there is no difference in performance.

From what I've been told, they are functionally identical. There is a small difference in material used but it doesn't affect functionality. Difference when you jump to Z due to change in heater.

Hello everyone, I am lucky enough to be gifted a Splinter V1 from Ryan @RastaBuddhaTao before Chinese New Year, best gift ever.
It become my DD. Replaced my vapcap when I am outdoor. I think everyone here already know how good is it. Love the first Xl8r jr. but broke it within 1-2weeks

I only use watt mode atm and very satisfied, I like the single battery mod, got this like new second hand Lostvape Mirage DNA75C from ebay for 60eu, love the lightweight and single battery enough for all day outside.

After 2 months daily usage, i found my sweet spot at 36W, locked 0.23ohm, hold the fire button when it raise to 0.31x ohm, I pulse the fire button and start inhale, first draw is preheat the material with tasty vapor, second draw is crazy cloud, after third draw, i stir the material and repack it, 2 more draws will finished the load. Its awesome~ like Ryan told me, its like my dreamwood and sticky brick , press the button is like light up the torch, and inhale tasty full convection vapor

This is my second xl8r jr, i like the first one that the spike is more pronounced. Please don't mind the dirty glass, you know how hard working they are

Hi @HerbieVonVapster thank you for all the effort you have put in with these profiles you have shared for DNA mods.

I downloaded your most recent one and loaded it onto my mod, but when I hit it I only get hot air? I'm noticing it basically instantly hits temp protect and drops down to 8 or so watts, so no heat is building up in the heater, then when I inhale it jumps up to the full wattage and all I get is hot air and a sore throat. Any thoughts as to why this may be? I have a second run American splinter (with the round edges).

Your shipping speed is super fast, 2days from ordered to delivery to my US depot, and it should actually arrived HK before 420, but today 419 is the start of Easter holiday so the courier are closed, have to wait after the holiday, I am not very worry since I have the V1

I wish there is a Chinese retailer soon most Mod product are produced in Shen Zhen china, but most of them don't direct ship to HK but free shipping to US due to stupid policy. I have to order it ship to my US depot then transfer back to HK, take half month to travel the world

Please report back once you have done extensive... erm... scientific testing! I want to see how my American made splinter stacks up against these lovely looking Chinese ones, all giving me GAS, especially seeing as Vapefiend have em on a deal for significantly less than I bought mine for second hand!

You are in luck! The V1 is now the V1+ and the Mica has been removed.

First try medium fine ground full basket, lightly tamped down (voice to text made that Leslie Campbell btw). Then set it to 35 watts hold down the button for a couple seconds before you start drawing and draw slow and steady breathing in until the 15s cutoff. Repeat if you can, you will see how it is starting to heat soak. That should give you a sense that you can build off of? Just a first idea

I notice there is a pre-heat option with this mod. Is what you described essentially the same thing?

No need to adjust ohms or anything like that. Just plug and play from the way it sounds.

Received my Splinter V2 today from PIU.. Screwed it on my Cuboid Mini with sur_myevic firmware and fired it off empty in power mode at 20 watts.. There's a strong oil smell (and taste) coming from it. Do these need a burn-off for some period of time?

With a new Splinter I blow in the holes while firing and I also blow through an inserted stem some while firing as a burn-off and odor check. Most of my Splinters have a bit of an odor at first.

first impressions: a lot smaller than I thought! Definitely not the most descrete, but I won't have to hold it near my belly button like I've seen in some pics with Zs, LOL!

I need to crank it all the way up to like 45w, but it hits great there. Hopefully I can turn it down some and work on my technique and get even bigger clouds.


I'm excited though... seems like an improvement on the Mi, for sure.

You can turn it to 50w and hold down for 5sec at a time to burn in, can even try blowing throw airholes a little to get some flow to help speed it up. That smell will fade fast, just a fresh factory scent.

I think it had been ill advised to blow into the heater, I remember that from at some point with some RBT product... Better to keep the air flow in the normal direction

Thanks! Blowing through the inlet holes at 50W a few times seemed to do the trick. Going to take first test drive tonight ..probably just in power mode at 30W to start. Now that I have this mod with myevic FW, I am interested in my alternatives for on demand use with the Splinter V2. Since I assume any settings will be pretty specific to the Splinter, I hope it's okay to ask for recommended settings here. Thanks.
