@LineTheory if it is not set up with the “arm” coming out of the top I would recommend flipping it. I tried this on my Zeal just to test a temp sensor theory but it will affect the way the head sits on the bowl.
I will weigh the gem cuts as I put them in later but I can tell you 4 mm Zr02 to fill it has more weigh !!! 2.5mm gem cut should have about the same weight as 2mm ballThe reason I am asking is that in one test he uses balls and the other gem stone cuts. Different sizes and massws and ability to pack more gem cuts into the same space.
Your heads upside downJust got mine delivered this week. The 'arm' for my coil is positioned at the bottom of the head, not at the top like the photos would suggest. This can interfere with the bowl handle unless the handle is on the opposite side of the arm. Can someone tell me if mine is oriented incorrectly?
Coming from a B0, overall I am loving everything from the controller to the machining and fitment.
@Vapvana
Did you weight the amount of 3mm beads VS the 2.5mm crystals?
The weight difference (mass) is important here.
I've been a daily dabber for the past ~8 years, so my goal was to recreate a 'low temp dab' with this device, since there are plenty of options for higher temp vaping - aka 'riding the line'In the real world, I do not do 0.4g bowls, they are usually 0.1 or less. Basically the herb just covers the screen.
Would you be able to do a test of this amount?
In all my years of owning vapes, especially ball style vapes, I have never filled a bowl full of herb. EVER...
I keep seeing these massive, full bowla of herb that every manufacturer seems to think is the most important feature.
Although I think you may be able to use the ABV color as an indicator for extraction, I think people's personal experiences matter far more.Looking at the picture of the ABV, to me the 550F with balls looks so much better then the dark brown ABV of the gems.
Again, weight of beads here is important as I would imagine wyou could pack more crystals in that beads??
Interesting design that has some unique features!!
#TeamLowTemp #SaveTheTerpsThis looks very promising. Any of these ball vapes that's going to use lower temps is going in the right direction in my book. Wish i wouldve seen this earlier def woulda been an early adopter
Thinks have been a little crazy going through my first international shipping experience I've made a couple mistakes that have delayed things - however I'm gearing up to get the international orders out this week.Getting jealous seeing you guys using your Screwball now.
Hopefully Cal gets back to me soon so mine can get on its journey. Got some top shelf products on the way for my first sessions with it. Like a bairn waiting for Christmas here.
This device wasn't designed to work as a 'microdoser' or with a thin layer of herb on the bottom of the bowl.I loaded up a dynavap stem and used it as a measuring cup. Yes it worked but I wouldn’t really consider it a great micro dosing device. This was at 420 on a dc pid. I tried again at 450 but had similar results. I’ll make another video tonight with a full bowl. I’ve been getting way to high off of this way to quickly so I may cut some cbd in tonight to help my endurance.
Thanks for pointing this out! And glad to see you in hereWhat makes the biggest difference in performance is the total exposed surface area inside the ball chamber. THAT increases significantly with the smaller balls and the gemcut stones. That allows the airflow to pull heat more quickly from the chamber, which can be good OR bad depending upon the design of the head.

Just got some weights! I picked a random head from the graveyard to fill with the balls/gems. The "Ball chamber weight" is just the filler, the head itself has been zero'd out. These are all ruby/corundum, including the gems.Did you weight the amount of 3mm beads VS the 2.5mm crystals?
Thank you for explaining this so clearly. DCPID guys be like, "check out my coffee AVB at 48*F!"The DC controllers don't actually run at a lower temp, they are programmed with a default offset (likely just a simple menu setting) to more accurately reflect the dabbing surface in a banger, which will obviously be lower than the coil temp. I believe that offset is ~ 100 degrees fahrenheit, so while it may be displaying 420°F, it's really measuring 520°F.
If that's coming from a coffee snob, we'll have to assume that they're referring to a light roast, tho...Thank you for explaining this so clearly. DCPID guys be like, "check out my coffee AVB at 48*F!"
It seems like your coil may have been assembled incorrectly, if that's the case then I'll send you a video showing you how to change it. However I don't think it should impact the performance.

I've seen others mention that DC PIDs are around ~ 170F lower than other PIDs. I used this temp difference as a reference point to figure out my own sweet spot. So far, it's pretty spot on for me like when someone reports 400F on a DC PID, I usually get similar results adding about 170-180F on top of mine. If I only added 100F, it'll not be enough.Thank you for explaining this so clearly. DCPID guys be like, "check out my coffee AVB at 48*F!"
Yeah I just like to point it out because I was using a b1 with a dc pid and its like I always had to asterisk my temperature to explain the disparity between it and everyone else. I do like a dc pid though. If that's coming from a coffee snob, we'll have to assume that they're referring to a light roast, tho...
I bet you can dive into the service menu and reset that offset to 0. Just gotta figure out how to access the menu!Yeah I just like to point it out because I was using a b1 with a dc pid and its like I always had to asterisk my temperature to explain the disparity between it and everyone else. Shit now I'm more confused what pid does the kit come with ?Yeah I just like to point it out because I was using a b1 with a dc pid and its like I always had to asterisk my temperature to explain the disparity between it and everyone else. I do like a dc pid though.
I believe that it's a Crossing Tech micro controller. I doubt that it has been setup with an offset. It's a common controller that a lot of sellers use and peeps seem to like it.Shit now I'm more confused what pid does the kit come with ?
Doing great as contest winner am running behind as well ..Thanks for everyones patience, support, questions, etc! This is the most busy I've been in years, and every day I wake up excited to go build the future for our vaping community.
In contrast - I'm also extremely disorganized right now, am making mistakes along the way, and could go a better job communicating with everyone. I promise I'm trying my best, and if you haven't had a good experience for any reason please reach out, I will do what it takes to make things right
Once the remaining kits, prizes, orders, etc are squared away I will be able to focus more on making more content and interacting with you all

It seems to be a good pid so far.I believe that it's a Crossing Tech micro controller. I doubt that it has been setup with an offset. It's a common controller that a lot of sellers use and peeps seem to like it.
I mean that, unlike the DC pid controller, when that one measures 520F, it will likely display 520F rather than some lower temperature offset by a fixed number of degrees. What do you mean setup for a offset?
What sixstringtoker said. So I will set my DC pid to say 410, but if I were to try that on my old cannabis hardware pid I would need it to display like 550 to have the same temperature at the coil. DC just pre-programs theres to display a temperature that they claim is more accurate to the actual air going over the herb as opposed to the temp of the coil.It seems to be a good pid so far.

And OK hold power button turns on up temp up down temp down. Press power button 5 times to enter time out setup!
Wile off press and hold temp down button this brings up a setting What is that setting????
Thanks for breaking that down. But in either case coil temp and air temperature is not going to be the same on any pid right? Gem power baby was clouding it up at 420 on my pid earlierWhat sixstringtoker said. I have received mine (briefcase+kit) and I have been playing around with it. I will share some more thoughts on it as my head clears, but inspired by Cal's temp-stepping method for microdosers I have found that the Screwball works really well at very low temps. ; )Any of the prize draw winners receive their prize yet?
