24 hours in with my Milaana and I have to say, this thing is great. I am starting to really get the usage of the manual vape and I am getting some great extraction. I am coming from using the Evo through water all of the time, but I am finding I am enjoying my Milaana dry more than with water. That is one of the ways the Milaana reminds me of the Lotus, such a pleasure to vape dry.

The "stem" I am using the most right now is an 18mm m2m that is probably sized about halfway between the short and long stems. I find the short stem can get a little warm, but I like the feedback of having a shorter stem than the long one. One thing that I am surprised by is that despite the short vapour path, I find the vapour surprisingly easy on the lungs. I think I am going to have look for more dry stems.

And people who have tried both say the Zion is even better than this? Good thing I have my Milaana to tide me over until the Zions start to ship. Speaking of which, I think more testing is needed.

I am happy to say that I got my Milaana today!! I am an international customer who ordered on the first day, for those keeping score. I will try to give a more complete response to the vape once the "new toy" fun has worn off. My first impressions are that this is going to be a very enjoyable vape to use. I like the "battery powered lotus" analogy for it. I had a lotus for a while and I quite enjoyed it. I like the Milaana even better because I can already get more consistent hits and it is only day 1. I am already confident this will replace my usage of my herbalizer. What else can it replace? :)

A couple of questions for those who know:
1) Three of the batteries came with issues that I am concerned with but because I am an 18650 newb, I would rather play it safe and ask. One battery has the wrap peeling off at the top, one battery has a small nick in the wrap around the middle which exposes a small bit of battery and the third has a dent in the bottom. Anyone know if these issues are a concern or not?

2) For those that use hemp fibre in the stem, how do I know what to look for when purchasing it? I am quite enjoying using this dry, but I think I need something to filter out the particles. Does anyone know of a good place in Canada to purchase what I am looking for?

I bought bulk of like a big USPS flat box rate size. I stayed away from the kind I bought. If you can find one hemp fiber that don't give after taste by itself and don't vape by itself in an EVO at 3PM on the dial, go ahead and buy it. I bought in the US.

I place on my Milaana stems, an extra fine SS screen on the bottom of the regular basket style stem.
It works wonders, keeps the stem cleaner, and water tool almost without weed dust/trichs????

Thank you very much for your answers, they will be very helpful. Maybe I will start with just a fine screen and see if I need the hemp fibre. It was mostly for the particles since I am not used to using a vape without a water tool. If that doesn't work well enough, I will move to the cotton and see from there.

I also want to add that @Ratchett's store seems to be a great place for RBT accessories. The screen press will be out in a few weeks, but there is also an 18mm funnel and songs for attaching your stems to glass.

It was a long time ago, and I got organic degummed hemp fiber, it was really raw looking, color and feel, reminds me of just shaved sheep, can't remember the real word/verb to shave sheep in the spring/summer. Like really fine wool looking, but still dirty, between yellowish/brownish color. Does it makes any sense?? Probably I got scammed, it was cheap and very organic???? jajaja I bought it online. I might have the email info from 2013-4 somewhere...

Now I don't want to piss anyone off, but I paid for my second one Monday night around 10:30 PM and received it today. RBT is on point now! I even received a UPS notification!:rockon:

This thing rocks so much I had to have a back up just in case.

Also I have not used any other portable since my first Milaana (ACE) arrived....True story.:)

I ordered mine Sunday May 8th and still haven't received shipping details? Only paypal? Should I contact them? I am in Pa very close to Asheville. I have family there too, if they aren't gonna send it to me could I go pick it up? lol

I am sure that everything is fine but the fact that @Vape Dr. already got his and he got a shipping number makes me feel a little uncomfortable because I didn't get a shipping confirmation or number just pay paypal confirmation.. I just want to send them an email and see if maybe they just made a mistake and they may have my tracking number? If anyone could help me out I would appreciate it. Well, I haven't even had mine for a week and already the 18mm female glass insert is falling out. For now I have used flexible sports tape Jerry rigged around the rim in a thoroughly unattractive manner. Perhaps this will increase its steam punk cred...

One of the short stem's GonG is just out of tolerance enough that it falls out. Both short stems I got are very irregular at the mouthpiece end. I've seen better from DHGate! Somebody tell me again the virtues of being Made in the USA!?

The heater and all work nicely enough and I'm still getting the hang of using it. I have yet to have a bowl come out evenly vaped, stirring or not. But very very medicating, before I realize it I've overdone it...

But I am definitely disappointed in the quality of workmanship (or workwomanship?) and quality control. This thing screams "prototype". I am getting tired of vapes that just fall apart or have some lame little flaw or some little part that fails and detracts from what should be an enjoyable experience. Not just pre-orders either. A vape is, as Ataxian recently said, an appliance. What if you had to keep sending in your blender/juicer/microwave/toaster oven etc. for repair repeatedly? And those things cost considerably less than most vapes!

Makes me appreciate the companies that do make consistently reliable products.

Rant over, please return to your originally scheduled program...

Yeah the first pilot production run is definitely rougher, personally I would send it in for the latest updates, as below Vape Dr has a newer one with better fit and finish (does your second one have the mesh filter still @Vape Dr.? if not then it's still not even the fully finalized version, which is like this:

New filter and fully recessed bowl should help. To be fair though my even older rougher Milaana has held up very well with a lot of use actually, maybe I am just careful. Either way I hope to try out a final production version myself some day...

Dude you'll be fine...i flew with a dirty mighty quite a few times. The 18650's i would be more concerned with in all honesty.

The glass joint (on the unit) doesnt get resinous anyway because the stem is what gets loaded

Yeah, it stays pretty clean and stems should be easy pezy to clean, even with an alcohol pad and a q-tip if you had to. I'd still carry a clean screen or 2 out, and ditch them before coming back unless you can give them a good ISO soak.

Don't fly with dirty anything. Yes, odds are in your favor - but that one time out of 20 (or whatever it would be) will be bad even if you just lose your Mi - charges coming from it or not.

Yeah, fit and finish could probably be a little better on the early ones. Maybe I'm wrong here, but I thought all ordered through RBT were "pre-orders" in the sense that they may or may not be the completed finished product. More luck of the draw with some of these issues, but not final retail versions.

My female glass slipped out a week or so ago, too. I just carefully pushed it down so friction holds it in place. Have only had to do this one other time since. Perfect? No.... not at all. But, it works for now and will look into having it fixed later once 1) I have my zion so I don't miss the Mi so much; 2) Production is up and running for wholesale to the point they're not working lots of OT to keep up; 3) a good fix (or proper glue) is figured out so I only have to send it in once. Am sure there will be at least a few guinea pigs to test the waters on all points, and I'll gladly wait for processes to get squared away.

Welcome and thank you for the info!! This makes me feel a lot better about my purchase Sunday night and I am more than happy to be a little patient for a great device, and with some bugs fixed from the sounds of it (like the bottom and the buttons sitting flush) still hoping I may get my Mi this week because of others getting theirs so fast ;) anyways it's always nice to see a manufacturer participate in this forum and it's also great to watch a great product grow.

I don't expect it ......but it sure would be a nice bonus surprise if I do get one that looks like that :drool:

It is just a standard screen instead if any concentrate mesh, keeps things simpler so people don't get confused and this heater is resilient anyhow

@Shit Snacks I actually prefer the mesh filter. On "ACE" I put some hemp fiber under the mesh filter for some draw restriction. I actually like to be able to fine tune the draw with hemp fiber.

Some Milaana porn. Out for a stroll with my ever so reliable, there in a moments notice "ACE"!
It tastes better when your in the woods.....:D

I just had a thought after seeing the red button cap from that angle.

You could get a wood burning kit and etch a mouth, and eyes on both larger faces of the wooden sides and then have a clown faced vape - using the red vinyl cap as the nose......and then name it "Krusty" :lmao:

Super vaped off ACE Over here and I just figured a fantastic DIY mod.

This is a simple M2M Gong "trying to find the right size" fix I think you all should be able to do easily!:tup:

First cut approximately 1" of surgical silicone tubing from a whip.:ninja:

Stick the tubing into your Milaana Mouthpiece.:o


Then slide the tubing about half way down the stem.:\



Pull the tubing to the side and hold it with your thumb.:|



Then stretch and wrap the silicone tubing around the whole tip of the mouth piece.:ugh:



Instant Song! :clap:

I used it for 3 chambers and it seals nice and tight and works great!

You can even leave it on when using it dry so it protects the tip of the glass!:tup:



I hope this helps everyone with the USA/ISO issue! Making it a non issue.:shrug:

If you have a piece of surgical silicone, (this piece was from Alan for my His), VapeXhale, ViVape, they all use the same surgical silicone and you only need roughly an inch. I found this same silicone at Sears hardeware by the plumbing supplies, I think it was 4 or 6 feet for around $7.:nod:

SSV or 7th floor whip will not work. It is not surgical silicone it is more like nylon and does not stretch.:disgust:

So much fun!:D

Man, @Vape Dr. , OK tweaks, but they are so difficult, take so long, and are a real pain in he ass to source all the parts. This simple one took about 30 seconds and I didn't even really have to get off the sofa! Had to reach all the way under the end table to grab a box with silicone & scissors in - then figure out how to roll it down because you hardly explained it. Couldn't you have posted a pic or two to show me exactly how to do it? :D

Another GENIUS idea! :tup: So simple, but I sure as hell would've never thought of it. Many thanks - again.
