Well I guess making a choice between the Milaana and the Tubo Evic just got a lot easier. Bummer that Europe cannot get the Milaana now.

As far as I know, RBT will still supply his European and Canadian vendors. He just won't ship internationally himself.

...I would sell my car before I'd sell my Milaana.

Love my Mi. I've had great luck with it. 2 yrs. with it give or take, used every day a couple of times at least and not a single problem. I broke a third party stem a while back but that's about it.

Part of my luck probably lies in the fact that I don't often use it with glass or other accessories. Short stems have me covered. But today I had a bit of free time so I rigged up a poor-man's way to use the DDave cooling stem (forgot I didn't have the right adapter on me).

FFfDy5V.jpg

Almost blew myself up with the cool, dispersed vapor. Didn't even know it was there until boom!

Then I tried the longer stem, which I had never used.

I'll be using it more often now! Nice and cool without the lung-busting dispersion. And easy to use.

I love the flavor from this vape so much. I finally got some (for me) 10/10 extremely smelly/tasty bud and loaded a bowl in the Milaana. The flavor absolutely knocked my socks off. Two hits in and im 5x higher than I would be from 2 entire bowls of the :shit: I've been getting lately. :whoa:

Hi guys, I was wondering if there were any safety considerations regarding the Milaana? Like how long can you hold the button down without damaging the device? I'm just curious, thanks.

I recall someone who mistakenly left the milaana with the button pressed and a fresh battery. When he came back half hour later the wood was charred but the milaana was fully functional. This thing is solid.

I did hear not a good idea to hold the button down more than 29 seconds?

You probably did. There's no good reason to hold the button that long, unless you're testing. I did this in my experiments with my early Milaana because I was testing for true convection. I dumped .07 g of something, probably Jack Herer, directly onto the screen and held the button down while I used a strong light to spot the first sign of vapour. If memory serves, it took 45 seconds before I saw a tiny wisp. Aside from the body starting to get pretty warm, there was no other noticeable effect.

Since the Milaana is unregulated, the longer you hold the button the hotter the heater gets. There is probably some tipping point at which nasty things like charring begin, but it's way beyond 45 seconds.

I've read in this thread of some units running hotter or tuned differently than others
With my newer model Milaana, I can do up to a 30 second cruise mode without releasing the button before any sign of the char ring shows. That's with a fresh Sony VTC5a. Also need an 8 second pre heat with this one to not waste inhale power.
With my OG Milaana, pre turbulator, 3 second warm up, within 8-10 seconds I have to release the button or char and beyond happens.
So, let your unit tell you how long you can press the button. There's a wide variance ime.

This is a good observation. I still think 30 seconds is beyond the time most people need, but you might if you have a cooler heater and you draw slowly enough.

This is my experience exactly!

My OG Mi (pre intake screen, pre turbulator) sold me on the RBT heater tech and I eventually added another unit to my collection.
Like your OG, mine needs no more than around 3 secs pre-heat, but the later unit needs a minimum of 8-10 seconds, and combustion is almost impossible (forget concentrates).

I returned my second unit to Ryan almost as soon as I got it, and he agreed to sort this (and faulty glass), (I explained that I'd like the new unit to be usable for concentrates, and as hot, or hotter than my OG).

It took 4 months, and a fair few friendly reminders to get it back (lol), and I can detect no difference to its state prior to returning it to RBT :cuss:, and #2 is most definitely a low temp vape.

In fairness, it delivers excellent low temp hits, and superb flavour, but the OG is a noticably better vape, and I can do concentrates with it, and I use it much more than the new one.

The 'heater lag' demands a loooong pre-heat, and makes judging the timing up to button release much trickier, even after the remedial work Ryan carried out.

The new unit has apparently been fitted with a turbulator, but it still suffers from hot-spots more than the OG, regardless of draw speed.

I also note almost no heat in the body of the OG during use, but the newer unit gets much hotter around the heater (not problematic at all, just an observation, it doesen't get 'burning' hot).
Overall the new Mi is somewhat dissappointing.

Sadly this experience put me off further RBT purchases.
I suspect that Ryan simply forgot to replace the heater when replacing my glass.
Returning it again for another looong wait (and I have to pay customs etc every time is crosses the pond) may just be throwing good money after bad (especially if he did indeed replace the heater, as I guess that I'd just get the same performance yet again).

Visually the new unit is beautiful, and I'm happy enough to keep it for low temp use, but the overall experience has put me off further purchases.

I never posted anything re' this situation before (I got the new Mi back months ago), as I feel Ryan has had some undeserved bad press, and I wanted to make sure I didn't contribute to that (the undeserved stuff) in any way.
But it has to be said that despite the fact that I wish Ryan the very best with RBT, I understand some of the customer frustration that I've witnessed here and elsewhere.

I have kept both my Millana's and will continue to use them though, as they are two of my favourite vapes even when compared to my admittedly indulgent collection.

@Copacetic I am in a a similar place with my Mi for different reasons. I love it, but can't see supporting the business with future purchases or even off-loading mine to someone. So...I'm using it until it dies, and I will enjoy every minute of it until that day comes.

As my understanding the Milaana is unregulated vaporizer!!!!!
I use different batteries to produce different heat levels in the Milaana
For High temp Milaana I use
from the hotter to .... this is the Sony VTC5D, VTC4, VTC5A, VTC5, VTC6
Also I found the Sanyo UR18650NSX is also making my Milaana Hotter!!!
Enjoy!!!!

Also I tried different stems working like a charm!!!!

I get the whole turn off when you get a lemon. I spent an hour trying to get a weed whacker running the other day and realized the damn thing has never worked without me having to fight with it. It's in the trash now and I'll never buy another from that company.

But all I have for rbt at the moment is love 'cause love is all I've received from my Mi for 2 yrs. or so. It's the definition of vaping to me. Load up a stem push a button and 20 seconds later as I'm exhaling a cloud of flavorful vapor I'm storing the Mi and hitting the road. Easy peasy. Buying it from one of rbt's sellers was seamless, also. So I'm on the Mi 2 wait list and I'll stay there happily 'til rbt gets around to making it. Even if my experience with 2 turns out only so-so, I'll always have my 1.5.

Hey! I see you have the Vapefiend cooling mouthpiece too. I clean it with iso and salt but I always prefer to scrape stems so I can get the reclaim. Is there any way to extract the goodness out of it without iso?? (and without breaking the glass). This cooling mouthpiece condenses a lot of resin and my soul pains every time i toss it.

Nah, it's not batteries or stems (I have something like 20 stems and the batteries (also various including VTC5A) that work perfectly in my OG Millana don't help with the newer one at all.
It's variance in the heaters, no two ways about it.
Regulated/unregulated has nothing to do with this issue.

I love my OG, but the newer one is seriously underwhelming, and remains so despite a lengthy trip back to RBT HQ for a re-fit.
