I have searched but can't find any definitive info in this thread or via google, so...

Does anybody know if any stem caps for any other vapes fit the Milaana stems?

I assume the Arizer Air ones would be too small?

I know planet vape do ones designed for Milaana, but the postage for such a small item makes it not worth it, but if i can pick up caps for some other vape from a local store while I am buying other accessories, that would be ideal.

Any ideas? Thanks.
I use the stems and caps that Ddave sells for the EQ- the caps fit on the milaana stems. I don't understand why these are not selling better. The milaana is so much better than most vapes out there.

(do I really need to say 'I was being quite sarcastic there, and there is no plan or intent to send Millie in for anything, except maybe a spalting upgrade! Those are forking sweet!)
Honestly, for me, you did. I was so confused lol. I've read that like 6 times and my mind is still spinning about what's going on haha
No, I'm talking about cleaning the actual wood on the outside. I noticed there's a layer of grime near the button from my grubby paws
Hahaha, oh! That's funny, my friend's is similar. He takes his out and it looks like he's got a Walnut Milaana because it's so dark (I was going to make a joke about how I can't wait until different wood Walnuts come out but that day is already here;))
I like your cloud chasing videos @AJS  Keep it up! Where you at in the video before the last one? Looks like a nice destination for a Milaana sesh
Thanks man! That would be my backyard! And you're right, it is a very nice destination for a Milaana sesh. Thankfully it's only a few steps away! Unfortunately, the mosquitos claim that land as their own. But winter is starting...so run little guys...run.

So, anyone got a good method to CLEAN your mi?

I'm really realizing after acquiring a new unit, that my OG is FILTHY! Particularly on the button side, but pretty much everywhere. I want to sand this one up also, but should prob clean it first.
Use light sandpaper, 320 grit, it will get all the dirt out, as well as smooth the wood. I've been using Walnut oil, had good luck heating wood with a heat gun (blowdryer works) just prior to applying sealer.

Damn you, party liquor
@beiberhole69 you can use half vinegar and half water on a towel and get a lot of that surface dirt off. Be sure to apply at least some beeswax afterwards as the vinegar will also strip off any wax as well. I use it all the time with my small wood items. Reapply some wax after that and it's good to go.
Speaking of that, my Mi could use some cleaning. I have a feeling it's gonna get some heavy use watching this election today :ninja:

Side note - plain white vinegar will also return the battery door to a pristine coppery color. Pretty cool to watch the oxidation just disappear.

....

Where did you get the oil? :o looks very nice.

Got some wooden stems from @Alan and was thinking about picking up some of the butter wax but may look into that as well.

edit: is it also not too much of a worry to have some plant particulate stuck in the little groove where the glass meets the heater? Blowing won't work and I don't wanna poke around and damage something... especially if it's nothing to worry about

Yeah you mean the concave edges of the heater screen and the ground glass female, not a problem, you can use a toothpick to gently poke em out, turn upside down, blow etc. It won't really affect anything if it's small enough to stay after all that, like a tiny speck is certainly fine

Yeah, exactly what I meant. I'll try with a toothpick later. Holding upside down and blowing in it doesn't work. Also assume the stock skewer is too dull to get in there as it did nothing.

Mostly just paranoid I'll break the thing somehow

Targeted pokes, I use Arizer Air steel toothpick, its sharp but like I said be gentle and precise, should loosen em so they fall out, if not don't worry, I'm sure it's still fine regardless

Walnut oil I got on Amazon, but the stain I made from coffee and vinegar. I boiled coffee down to a thick liquid, added some vinegar, sanded a few times, then applied multiple walnut coats, sanding to 320 at every step.

Will be messing with adding a finish to mine sometime over the weekend perhaps then, thanks for the info!

A dark stain would go along beautifully with the walnut stem I have on the way.

Also, another (more grim) question...
I knocked my Milaana off my desk last night while it was fully loaded with battery etc... Everything is fine but I think the internal, positive-end battery holder got pushed down from the impact, if that makes sense.

The battery sits way more flush and the negative end doesn't make a connection with the copper plate now. If I push down, it works but would like to not have to do that. :/ I took one of the washers out and it made it a bit better... But there's gotta be a more solid way to alleviate this

Further back in this thread someone showed how to fix that, drop a bent paperclip down in the battery compartment and lift the tab slightly. Maybe someone can give thanks to whoever that was as my memory isn't that good :D

Worked fine! I was thinking it was that... I had removed one of the washers on the copper plate hoping to fix it like that, but poking at the positive end and trying to get it folded back worked.

I was initially worried I had damaged the heater or something... Was a very bad feeling minute there

Common problem but pretty easy to fix. The clip is attached on one side only. That is the side you need to pry, pull up a hair. You can use some kind of hook to get under and lift with steady, but somewhat firm pressure. It only needs to move a hair, so err in the safe side, and try again. Ive also had good luck using a long narrow suture clamp that I used to use as a roach clip.
Good luck!

Another easy way to pull up the negative tab is to get a long nylon brush (everyone has them I have a ton) that comes with most vapes and use the loop on the handle to snag the negative terminal and pull up very gently holding the bristled end of the brush.

If ya got a short brush use needle nose pliers to hold the bristled end so you can stick the loop down under the tab.

I just fixed my buddies last night this way.

I give a blow into my unit after every bowl while everything is still hot. I tilt the unit and don't blow directly into it, and a lot of the particulates that chill around the screen just fly right out. You'll eventually get a rim of herb around the bottom, but it's nothing bad. Also I always make sure I heat tamp or light tamp to avoid little bits from falling out if possible...there's always some bits that'll fall outta the bowl tho, so just blow into ur milaana for a bit. (if you don't know this...careful about getting herb in your eye)

______________

I decided to make a video that was strictly me cloud chasing for the sake of "making it hard to see me" as @DDave says. Hope you guys enjoy this with at least a fraction of the enjoyment I had making it. In the end, it wasn't much herb. Probably .15-.2, and I didn't vape it all the way through.

I forgot to vape my micro bubbler thing bowl too...Will get vid of that soon...once these effects wear off a bit haha.

Oh man you are a legend! I think I would be like perma stoned after all that at once...
And gotta get me one of those bubblers its exactly what I've been looking for what is it? d-020 or something?
And also at the end.... Fucking BI MI operation:clap::rockon::bowdown:
Now I want another Mi just so I can give that a go:goon::uhoh::cheers:

Mi is my only vape atm so no other accessories but it doesn't seem to be an issue

Wow thanks man! Haha
D020-D from sunshine store. I think Yingmin5 GB-187 or 187s is smoother tho. My friend has it. D020d is 9 inches tho compared to 10 of the GB I believe.

This Saturday when my new one arrives I could technically do a TriMi..although, now that I picture that in my head, I'd have to be an alien to manage 3 Milaanas.
Darn, I'm not

So I should have enough stems to preload for on the go, especially with another wooden @Alan one on the way.

I use a diffuser at home, but the wooden stems allow me to get dense, warm, cloudy pulls as I'm walking so those are my new on-the-go.

Now, in reality, it means this shouldn't matter... But I'm super picky...

I love that color of the green stem I got, but how do I cut it down to around the length of a stock shorty? Sorry for OT. Will make up for it woodstem porn over the weekend

Visit a glass studio or headshop with glass blowing on site to help cut down your green stem.

Otherwise you need a blade specifically that can cut glass, stone, etc. to cut it, then you need to flame polish it so you don't cut your lips. Ideally then it should go into a kiln to pacify the stress created during the flame polish to stabilize the glass structure.

On Sunday my gf left for a trip to Vermont, I sent my milaana with her because she really likes it. I get a text message Tuesday saying its not heating up at all!! We used Skype last night and it appears like everything is fine except no heat. She gets back Sunday so I will check the spring and make sure its not to compressed and lacking a connection.

Other then the spring what else should I check?

I hate to have send it in but I guess if I have no other option it will be packed up for shipping.
