@szai Someone a few pages back used the VDMH acronym and I too said WTF!? Hope i'm not breaking any rules but VDMH is Verdampftnochmal (had to check my email twice to make sure I spelled it right!) @lazylathe has the Roor one which is well out of my $ range and seemingly only available from Roor, but the Herbolizer XL body looks (to me) to be pretty similar. I wanted something with low diffusion for the SV4 as i've noticed low diffusion for flower is much tastier with my Showerhead/FlowerPor. Love my crazy recyclers for dabs/concentrates though!

Thanks you know a jhook suffices for the sv3? It's also a lot smaller than it seems. At least to me it was.

You know you can fit the sv3 a jhook your stash and a small grinder in like a gallon sized Ziploc. I think the 10 skunk tube might be great for a small bubbler the j hook the sv3 the torch the hex nail and jcat electric coil mod and the rest of my bugging in bag.

No idea, my friend. I don't currently own any Supreme's. I'm pretty sure i've seen people using J-hooks with their SV3 though.

No it's a statement. I'm currently edcing a supreme v3 with a 14mm j hook, though is recommends an 18mm . The 18mm can be used for the full convection sv3 mod. Infact I'll probably do a bowl before long ins.

That's awesome!! I didn't know there was an XL size....I had the smaller version and hated it because it was way too small. This XL looks quite similar to the RooR and actually affordable!

Tried out one bowl and super restrictive on the draw. Tried unpacking the bowl and make it looser. Still restrictive and not much vapor. I did let it heat soak. I think I need to go look out at some how to pack sv3 videos.

Opened the coil and can say that the coil does not appear to be using the standard 5 pin wiring. Looks to be using pins 1,2,4, and 5.

Looking to upload pics and watching sv3 how to videos.

Oh by the way the Herborizer XL came today too. Can say with 100% certainty the two - herboriz XL and Roor Vapor tech are different. Quick eye differences the roor is taller by 2” and has 1” wider base.

Try a coarse grind and suck it in like the bowl is a straw.

I never ground for the S3.
Just break off a few bits of nug and drop them into the tube and go for it!
Not tamping or anything and sometimes ground bud is way too restricting, especially finer grinds.

Ok third and fourth attempt. Thanks to @lazylathe for the tear apart vs ground.

Got a little more vapor but not much milkiness. My initial thoughts more heat is needed maybe. Fourth attempt I went to 455 but not seeing the results I was hoping for.

Will try one more time tomorrow night.

Going to assume temps you're posting are the readout of the PID and not the temp of the heating element (or the airstream that cooks the herb) so I assume if Ed has tested his at all there should be some kind of estimated temperature he can give you... or at the very least a useful initial starting temp.

This seems interesting having never tried a Supreme before , will keep an eye out here and certainly for what controllers it's compatible with.

Now that I have good contact with the coil on my Supreme v3 mod, I'm finding 480F gets me a temp of 365F which is a perfect temp for flower.

For rosin I'm finding I crank it to about 520F which gets it sitting @ about 390F.

If you insert the thermocouple where it sits on the SV3 (on the stem under the silicone against/close to the block) you should be able to get accurate and useful temp readings.

(FYI--@stickstones gets the credit for the temperature meter idea ... I'm just repeating it )

Curious if your SV4 came with instructions? The SV3 instructions specifically say to cut up the herb into pieces. I do grind from time to time, but you have to be very cognizant of airflow. I use much less when grinding, especially when fine (I use the concentrate stem mod/screen near the top).

Fourth attempt I went to 455 but not seeing the results I was hoping for.

Go for the coil max of 490, and perhaps try pulling harder.

I've pushed the sv3 well past the "safe limit" of 400f. I pushed it to 500, and never ever once had anything even remotely close to combustion.

But I do agree to start at the top and work down!

So nice to see the first SV4 out in the wild! Thanks for sharing @Dubmonkey ! I'm more curious about that new bowl system?!

Looking forward to the first member that gets one that has come from the SV3! (for better comparison)

In my four sv4 attempts, I have tried different product and load sizes @biohacker. Also temp changes in the four attempts. Starting from the suggested 425F and yes reading temps from PID. Highest I have gone is 470. Tonight will try a few more attempts and keep cranking upwards on the temp.

The bowl has two silicone rings at the point the screen shelf sits. Then there are four silicone rings at the very bottom so you can pull the bowl out. There were no other tools or stuff in the box for the bowl. Initial thoughts is this bowl system is a little cumbersome to use. Hoping to get better with it. The removal of the bowl while the SV4 is getting juice is very hard as the bowl feels very hot even where you grab the silicone rings to tug the bowl out of the joint. Like there is no way I can do two bowls without turning off the juice and letting it cool a bit before removing the bowl. Need to get a pair of pliers handy tonight for hot bowl removals.

Is there any silicone in the air/vapour path at all? I understand the silicone rings at the bottom for ease of removal, but having a hard time understanding the 2 rings where the screen shelf sits. A pic would help greatly... so the screens aren't the "paper clip" style from the sv3?

Haha, I remember using needlenose pliars back in the day, but you'll probably see very quickly it will loosen up, and then will be much easier to remove. I just use a piece of cloth, I never used the silicone grommets with my sv3.

Ed says my SV3 bowls should fit the SV4? I imagine I'll still use my 18>14 reducer with it as I like how that makes a better seal on my Water Tools.

There's also multiple options, first option "SV4 Plain" comes w/o the coil heater and controller set? Plus the plates are "loose fit". I'm guessing this is the option for those who want to replace these things later?

I'm going for option #3, the "SV4 full monty package", I don't want to muck with finding 3rd party parts and I trust Ed to choose what works best.

I was saving for a Flowerpot, but the SV3 has managed to thwart that VAS, but I can't pass on her big brother plug in unit and the promise of stable temps and no more torch.

Now what to do about a stand? Good thing this vape is so good I don't care it doesn't come with the appropriate accessories.

Interesting! He told me it was a new bowl system, but backward compatibility is always nice! I do exactly the same as you with the reducer. Perfect seal!

Haha! I didn't want to say anything because I didn't have permission and didn't think Ed would roll out with those packages for another couple of weeks! Yep, you can buy the SV4 sans coil/PID and use your own 10mm! Some will fit snugly and not even need securing but from what I have gathered Ed will include a nail for tamping so the coil doesn't accidentally fall out.

"Someone can insert their 10mm flat coil directly into the coil compartment and use the SV4 with their own PID set up. The user would need to hammer in two notches on top of the coil compartment to lock in the coil (I provide a nail with the sharp end made flat, but a hammer is needed). Hammering in two notches may not be necessary if the coil makes a secure tight fit with the coil compartment, but due to safety we always recommend that two notches be hammered in so the heating element never falls off by accident."

However he also said:

"The SV4 can be used with any 10mm flat coil PID but the handle of the coil may get extremely hot depending on the PID/coil technology. I have two other types of PIDs and both of the handles get very hot. I'm not sure if its the coil design or the PID that causes the handle to become hot."
