A little over a year ago, a good friend of mine gave me a plant, that she believed to be a Japanese Lily. I hadn't seen her in a year or more, and this was a wonderful gift
I took it home and watered it, waiting for it to bloom...but nothing. I kept at it though, realizing that it may not be something that blooms annually, etc. But, one day, I looked at it and I thought I had killed it! It had started to wither up and look dead ( I believe I forgot to water it one day, and it got very very hot that day. So, I gave up on it, thinking it had died (it looked completely gone) and as things got packed up in the fall, it was placed in a cabinet for the winter. It sat in this cabinet sealed from light and only allowed a little airflow, at outside winter temperatures. This spring my mother was cleaning when she came across it and it was fairly healthy looking; It appeared to have grown! Now, after a couple of months of light, water and love, it's starting to bloom!
A few of shots from this afternoon...
