Because the third walk of the morning was a little late, and therefore too hot and sunny, and waaaaay too many people (obviously), we decided to hit up the "lady slipper" patch next to the Rail Trail and cemetery again for a short walk in the shade....
The lady slippers were replaced by
Indian pipe (= summer!).... yay!! I never knew
bumblebees hit them up, too... amazing!:

What we always called "Indian hemp" (Sweetfern)... smells wonderful when you mash up the leaves:
Probably what was once more than a seasonal pond, looks to be no longer a pond at all, and merely a seasonal puddle:
(Ha...he's such a ham)

Pretty deep/steep on this side. The
"Rail Trail" is about 200' behind me. The pics of the geese and snake the other day were from the stretch in red (bottom right) the first stream headed northeast from going under I495.
