Under the Coney Island Boardwalk when I was a boy.. sometime in the early 1950s

As the 1950s came toward a close, the wooden pillars were replaced with concrete.

Under the boardwalk, many relationships were forged, many scams born, and much was learned about life.

I raise a glass to an Era gone by... and to a piece of life that is not duplicable!

This looked so fake to me that I couldn't help myself. Water is blue because it reflects the sky, and it's impossible to have a sky that would make the water look like that. So I checked Tineye and sure enough, here's the original:

The interesting thing to me is that both of these images come from the archives of The Telegraph. I wonder who the editor was who said, "That picture of Clevedon Pier isn't colourful enough, add some blue water."
