yes i think the acrylic or glass part would be fine and i have found many on the internet. But the hard part would be putting it in. The way the Palm is designed i do not see a way that i could insert one back in there. Right now i am using a vinyl tube and the glass end as a whip, but would really like to fix it completely. any suggestions?
First off, it's 1/4 OD, an easy size to deal with. You're right in that the ceramic block is glued in and would have to come out to put the tube in as it's built. This would also trash the screen (which you should be able to get a replacement for since the maker considers it an expendable).
I see two ways to address it if I was in your spot. First off is to drill the 'smoke hole' in the front of the unit out to .250 so you can slip a new tube in from the front. It looks 'doable' to me. The other way is to do it with a two piece tube glued back together in place. Acrylic plastic solvent cements easily, this would be a little more difficult and also prevents using glass. I'd probably drill it out.
Tell you what, I've got some .250 Acrylic tube, PM me and I'll mail you a couple of pieces long enough to do the job. You get to cut it to length as I'm not sure exactly what that is.
