I have a male cat that usually ignores catnip, while our female loves the stuff. My wife had some old catnip that the female was ignoring, so she dumped it in the backyard under the apricot tree. I looked outside later that day and the male was rolling around under the tree along with another cat that I had never seen before. What's odd is that my cat has never seemed to give a shit about catnip.
I've bought fresh loose catnip, dried loose catnip, and various toys that include catnip. She ignores all of it

Looks like love to me!
Aboout 30% of cats are not affected by catnip. If you can find it, try silver vine. If I recall correctly it has a simlar effect on about 80% of cats, including about 85% of cats who aren't affected by catnip. What's odd is that my cat has never seemed to give a shit about catnip.
