Well...

It has been over a year since i last saw my two friends roam free (for the story why they were caged: Click here) but today i heard a wellknown raw crow-like cry and sure enough: i spotted some bright colors in the trees.

Quickly grabbed my nuts (have been ready all this time) and answered their call and look and behold!
They're back!!
Fuck yeah!
Made my day!
The female (with the green) actually said "Hello" when she landed! Such amazing birds!

We have Harris hawks move into our tree, in our backyard. They are one of the few raptors that will hunt together in packs. I've been watching them night and day. Very cool to watch them go out hunting first thing in the morning and come back with their prey. They are messy neighbors, they toss carcasses and garbage out their nest, and they're noisy as fuck from the moment they wake ;). Very funny to watch a small Mockingbird chase the hawk out of the tree .

Sadly, and in something of a surprise move, Callie has decided to cross the Rainbow Bridge and be with her sister Olivia, who crossed it merely a month or two ago. Hopefully they have plenty of catnip there and lots of laser pointers to keep them occupied. I will miss them both terribly.

Spooky, the last sister who we all thought might go first due to her own medical issues, remains. I hope the human love she gets sustains her.
