That one was claimed by @Caelar900 and it doesn’t use the wood combination suggested above, but it still looks great. I hope we get shots of it in the wild too, or at least maybe Dan has pics of it all put together!

Here’s the post:

The sleeve above is mine :) Super stoked to have my vision come to reality. Dan worked long and hard with me to create this thing and I truly can not thank him enough. His craftsmanship and attention to detail is totally unparalleled. I started from the vaguest idea and ended up here and I cannot be happier with the result. The inspiration was a short story of mine, not even completed at the time, and for him to be able to pull that apart and create this is nothing short of amazing.

Love the nomad II but I will be sad to see these sleeves go... They truly add a level of personalization that is not only unmatched in any vape but pretty much anything period. I could go on for ever but I'll leave it there. Again. Thank you thank you thank you Dan. You are a gentleman and a scholar.

The Inspiration.

Home

"A map scavenged.
Their only way home.
The wood a vestige of this place they know without ever seeing.
The sleeve a way to find it.
A long fraught journey.
To this place that the wood connects them too.
But as they're finally arriving.
Home.
Stranded again.
So close.
But still just out of reach.
Only able to gaze upon this place they’ve searched for for so long.
The only place they've ever called home without ever truly touching.
And they never will.
All they can do is sketch this image.
This image of
Home."

The result. (Dan got most of the good shots up above but here's a few extra)

Ahh thanks for digging that up. It's funny I have lore for my sleeve too. I wonder if this influenced me because we both have space themes, but I feel like when these pics came out I was pretty close to done. But I would have to go back and dig to be sure.

whats your profile picture @Vaporware?

Hello to you, lucky owners of a Nomad or Nomad 2!

I long for updates ...

I know we're all different but I'd like to know how do these vaporizers fit into your rotation?

is this your daily vaporizer? main ? to taste ? savor? to amuse you ?
or do you rarely take it out? for occasions?

Thank you in advance for your answers !!

Always interested in this as well.

One of the reasons I'm so excited about getting mine is to update this thread regularly. Even if it's just glamor shots.

I work from home so this thing will most likely be my daily driver.

Few more finished and out the door last week, and more to come this week!

I have been trying to come up with better and faster methods for doing the final hand shaping, and I'm happy to report that some speed improvements have been made this past week.

I had been running into a physical wall, all the hand filing and sanding was giving me tennis elbow. This recent improvement seems to have solved that issue as well.

What I came up with was a piece of aggressive sandpaper glued to a long, shaped, piece of wood. The shape is the negative of the curve thats on the Nomad II body. So it can be used to sand the bodies into the final curved shape. I can use both arms in a standing position... so that helps!

To work for this long on a single project...and not feel the accomplishment of actually finishing...can be mentally exhausting. It's easy to lose confidence. Being able to start and finish a small batch of toads really gave me a new fire for these Nomad IIs.

Perhaps that's too many personal details... but I like to be open about the process. haha.

I'll be posting some new photos this week as well. It's been too long!
