For your use, the High heater will be much better. The low heater is much better if you're starting and finishing a chamber load in one session, without letting it cool down in between.

The longer pre-heat time required for the low heater to finish off a cold chamber of already-been-vaped material will sink a lot of heat into the wood. This is likely why your heater got stuck. The added heat draws resin out of the African blackwood and when the resin cools it acts like glue. This can be completely remedied with acetone or 99% ISO on a q-tip to swipe the inside of the heater module hole. This will remove the resin from the surface, and also from the wood itself, so that issue shouldn't ever happen again.

As for your scorched stem, well, I would just consider it like a protective carbon layer that forms on the inside of a tobacco pipe. It's part of the break-in! haha. Now your stem will be well protected from heat under that thin layer of carbonized wood. Plus, it kinda looks cool in my opinion, so.. win/win.

As of yesterday, the last of the Nomad II batch 2 orders went out the door. This is actually a huge life changing milestone for me, and I really don't have the words yet to describe my feelings about it. I can honestly say that these Nomad IIs changed me. I was tested in ways that probably needed to happen, but the lessons learned came at such a great cost... that I'm just left a bit traumatized, ha.

Sometime, I will have a longer post on my experience making the Nomads. I've been re-writing that post in my head for the last few years it feels like, ha. Literally everything in my life has been on hold until I could finish up batch 2, including much of my posting activity on here. I'm hoping that'll change going forward, because I genuinely miss it!

@seriousTone
I don't know who this Dan Morrison is, but he has some great ideas!!

Indeed, if you use a puff from time to time... the high heater will be much better suited to your needs!!
With the low heater , it always requires an initial warm-up, I find... or you have to know your device perfectly... but that's going to take you time if you use a puff every 2-3 days!!!

Dan I really want to thank you for all off your hard work through such a challenging time.

I think it's a testament to your character that you not only saw this difficult project though, but based on these early photos, you have smashed it out of the park!!

Literally ever piece is a work of art.

I see that #66 is on its way across the world to me and I can't wait to share my thoughts with you all.

@Dan Morrison you have my deepest respect
