I think the first paper is nicer but feel like it would look better on the olive burl lol

@M4k4v3l1 I agree with the above, third option looks the most original and "Japanese" to me.
Then the second.
The paper with the writing looks a tad cooler, but the branch one is nice too. Very slight difference IMO, can't go wrong with either.

Hopefully I’ll have a mock-up or two to post soon too (in the other thread), but it’s going to take a little time to go through all of the options!

Yeah, there are...but pictures have made me think parts of it it could start rubbing off in a year or two of regular use, so maybe the craft brown or one of the milkpaint colors might be the better idea in the long run...but then again, they look too plain for this vape, to me at least.

I do still like this paper though:

This one could take some wear, and still look like it was supposed to look that way.
And it gives it that "scavenger" look that I remember Dan saying he was going for from early on. I liked that idea from the start.

Decisions, decisions...

The newer sleeves (especially for future batches) shouldn’t wear nearly as much or as fast as the “OG” above, although I’m sure they’ll still wear over time. If you missed it Dan posted here recently about the new processes he’s using.

Dan posted here recently about the new processes he’s using.

I didn't miss it, and he said it will still wear. Just more slowly and more "naturally"...but it will still wear.
So, I figure that planning that wear into my paper choice would be a good idea.

I assume I'm going to have this for a while. If I planned to sell this thing in two or three years, then it wouldn't matter.

Right, I was just pointing out that the level of wear we see on the OG is beyond what we should see on ours any time soon. Of course it’s still a good idea to factor in the inevitable long-term wear though...I guess I wasn’t saying anything you didn’t already know.

It's worth remembering that Dan did simulate (what sounds to me) like very heavy wear and tear though.

I'm looking forward to seeing how the 'patina' develops.

I knew I'd never be able to decide on a design so I never even looked at them . Saw the milk paint and narrowed it down to my favorite 2 colors then decided on blue after seeing the mockups.

Waiting on confirmation from Dan but hoping I'll be #900. Here's the mockup I'm liking most right now. Thinking about going the custom sleeve route though. Figure if it's already this well crafted/expensive/personalized may as well go all out!

Got the email from Dan, but was not one of the fortunate ones to get in on this next batch. Locked in for batch 4 though.
I been fortunate enough to have spent some time with Nomad #001, and have a few things to add.
I didn't care for the two screen in stem load system. Installed the screen inside the body above the heater, and just one screen in the stem. Now I can load it like I do with a Milaana or Tubo stem, and away we go.
Batteries...different strokes, for different tokes. 25R for cooler, slower heat up time, vtc5a to heat up faster, runs hotter. That one can char on low heater if rode too long early in batteries life.

Heaters...both are good. Not sure if I'd be able to choose just one, after using both. A great use of the High temp heater is @KeroZen suggestion of low temp heater for first two loads, switch to high temp heater and get similar reaction from weakened battery for two or more stems. How he gets his hitting below 3.60 though is beyond me.

Glass stems...Love the way the stem slides into the unit making it stealthier than most.
If you have an Epic Enano, you may have some longer stems and gongs that fit in the Nomad. I have 2 regular length stems, and 2 gongs. Both gongs fit in the Nomad, and one of my regular stems fit. The other regular stem does not fit. So I can not recommend just ordering one new, cause it may not fit, glass pieces being imperfectly different and all. That being said, I love the original stems and have mostly been using those to get my learning done.
This is a vape that you will get better at using as you go.

Yeah, tough one.
I'm trying to decide between a red and black Yuzen wave, and the plain craft finish.
I had decided on the wave, but the plain craft is also really growing on me.
(I too really like that scavenger look).
I think I'll leave the final choice to Dan, he'll know which suits the vape better, since he'll have it in front of him, and I like his aesthetic approach.

I wish I hadn't let the charcoal put me off getting an Okin when he was making them.
Since I have conceded defeat to the fact that I now collect herb vapes, missing the Okin is more than a little .
VERY glad to be in on the Nomad though.
Shit, if I had the cash I'd get a second one to keep pristine for the collection, and one to use the hell out of

You can order an extra sleeve and it’ll always look pristine between the rest...

Thanks Dan I'm back in business. Took a bit to figure out how to install magnets but ups and running.

The pressure need to depress the button is much better than with the spring. The button sit little deeper more flush with body. It's now useable with my hand and that's what mattered.

I seem to recall Dan mentioning that in next batch the button going be tad longer to compensate or the magnets?
