The Lotus Vaporizer

I received my lotus yesterday and had the chance to use finally use it today.
Upon opening the box I was immediately struck by the build quailty. It has a nice weight to it, feels good in the hand. Simple, elegant design.
I went for the "sleek" torch. This also seems well made, with a nice brushed nickel finish.
I smoked with a good friend of mine. He's a die hard traditionalist when it comes to smoking. When I told him I bought a vape he was a little scornful.
Well, after a few tries and more than a few clouds of absolutely delicious vapor, he had a change of heart. More like a religious conversion actually.
The lotus is amazing. The taste. My god the taste.
Also, this is my first time ever using a vaporizer of any kind. I'm loving it!

I understand they have three different colors for the lotus,natural,black and turquoise.

What is the black and turquoise cover made of?I'm wondering because I have seen pictures of the natural cover having scorch marks form over heating.

I'm assuming if I buy this vape,the first few times I use it I will over heat it.
Which of the three would be least likely to scorch?

It was asked recently, try about 5-10 pages back to start. I just remember the answer led me to buying a natural finish cap.

While it's unlikely to overheat it if used correctly, some scorching can definetely occur under the ring on the top. The scorched area that is in the airpath though is thinner than a hair and shorter than a couple milimeters... Practically it doesn't affect taste. Only a few people can distinguish a hint of wood and while I am very sensitive to tastes I haven't been able to detect any.
One good reason to prefer the natural is that it will remain like it was new for a looong time while the painted ones will take scars pretty fast in my experience. Go with natural imo...

Thanks for the reply,I'm looking at getting the jhook and WPA,just needed to decide on the finish.

So black and turquoise are still wood,just a color coating that can wear off if dropped.
I will probably get the natural finish,but I'm currently reading from page87 and on to get more info

So the Lotus went over with my small group of combusting friends better than any other vape I've shown them before. Up until this point, they had tried very few of my vaporizers more than once, and shown very little interest in vapor in general.

Within the first few hits (me driving) one of my friends was entirely enamored, opting to use the Lotus for the rest of the night in leiu of his usual bong hits. By the end of the night he had it all figured out and was heating it for himself without issue. Another one of my friends who usually is not even willing to try the vaporizers even expressed interest in trying the Lotus because of "how pretty" it is.

Good news mate! I was also impressed with how much easier it was to turn combusting friends into the vapor side with the Lotus! The ritual is what attracts them the most I think, as well as the fact that it gives the smoothest dry hits ever as a portable!

I think for the first vaporizer off of joints and bongs should be the LOTUS.

And on the topic of converting combustion friends, I think the lighter to bowl ritual/habit is a hard one to shake for a lot of people, so it feels more natural to vape with the lotus coming from that perspective, and it's not full of questionable electronics and other materials that might seem intimidating to some. I have not had the opportunity to convert anyone yet, but I can see why so many are having success

The Lotus isn't a stealth piece for me, at least that's not my plan. I'm waiting on a new Grasshopper to hopefully take that place.

I want one for an accompaniment to my glass, for those huge dense clouds!

Got home from a concert last night and my Lotus was in the mailbox! OK, I'm sold , very very tasty hits. My first try i got flavor, but no visible vapor, second try, lots of vapor. I'm still perfecting my technique, but this vape rocks I just wish they had put one of those scoops in the kit with the stem and water attachment
