So a friendly suggestion that I’d like to recommend that I’ve never seen mentioned before. I’ve found a Lotus setup that helps prevent me from burning my fingers between back to back smoke sessions (when the cap tends to get fairly hot to handle). It’s a customized 5.8” silicone band that helps minimize the surface heat from my Lotus while handling the cap. In addition, it visually blends in nicely with my torched (burnt) cap to help make things look more appealing. Highly recommend!

I am adding one of these to my arsenal. Found the Olive peace edition kit. Always honestly wanted one of these since they were initially out.

Found the perfect outside vape to just chill out under a tree or at the small waterfall by me and just vibe. Ideal companion to the couchlog. Grabbed a spare torch and a spare plate kit.

Happy Lotus Friday!!!

Still struggling a bit with my new Lotus top vs the OG. Seems it needs a lot more heat to work do anything, so I've switched to my dual torch, but maybe I'm getting it too hot? Making the plate glow is Very Bad, right?

@fangorn The black/oak top looks so spiffy with the black and oak pipe base! Love love that. The circles everywhere have such parity with the Lotus shape, too.

How is that stem? I know which one it is, but unsure of how it fares for flavor.

You changed the heatplate? Look if it sits really tight in place. With mine i had a small gap between the heating plate and the body. That caused the same issue.
The problem was that the screws no longer held in the case after reassembly. I had to insert wood shavings into the screw holes to make them secure again.

I am very biased, both towards my pipes and Stainless Steel, but I get loads of flavor from the Lotus with it. Plus, the narrower bowl sizing allows for more even heating and full extraction in my usage, which brings even more flavor.

It's new and untouched as I got it last month, but I'm still going to give the screws a check later. I totally see how that might affect airflow. Thanks so much for the suggestion! It looks magnificent and I'd love it to work as well as my OG Maple.

Totally agree. ;) ... here checking 10mm vs 12mm ID.
I think even the mesh spacing in the head sieve makes a taste/performance difference.

Happy Lotus Friday to you guys  not at home so can’t post any pics but I’m with you

@coolbreeze, can you remind me the name of that marvelous hook ? Vaporscope ? From what I’ve read those are just right for the lotus !
You're right, it's the Vaporscope. It is great with it. Really nice for other small vapes, too. Be nice to see more made!

Thanks for your fast replies!
Actually, I don't have yet the lotus (I will at some point in July as some of you). But I have a Dynavap and I always use it with a candle. It is so relaxing this way. I don't wish to use a torch lighter, too violent for me.
I could figure out that the cap cannot open from gravity (the magnets are strong enough), but I do not know what kind of tube can handle the whole oven without falling, since, indeed, it has to be plugged from below (with an exotic glassware which would fulfills my specific wishor with an adaptor).
The ideal would be to just have to rotate downward the lotus on its glass pipe to make it heat over the candle, and to rotate it back when nobody wants to draw on it. It is quite easy to have a similar setup with the Dynavap since it is so small an light.
That's a good point that I risk to have more conduction than convection this way (perhaps with an additional grid inside, it would be better).
Hey, just reporting on this past discussion. I have managed to make it work this way (with a regular lighter in fact) :) The weed was not too thinly ground not to pass through the "top" grid, and a rubber band between the metal handle and stick was enough to secure the cap. Also, a slower inhalation helps with the lower temperature.
