My bad. I read gadget as an negative against other vapes.

No worries… I wonder though.. What can the LSV do better?

EDIT: I was just in the LSV thread to check it after some time and first posts I read were about broken LSV's… I am sure we won't see many posts like those around here…

....And a good tip to ABV perfection: Get your flame right! How to do it easily? The distance between the leaf points of the Lotus flower on the hot plate is just about over 5/8". Use it to adjust your flame to perfection! ;)

nice tip iro the flame size. i'm was always trying to use me little finger for estimation, silly....

now, i have owned and tried multiple vapes and i wouldn't want to get into a 'which is better' argument. It's just that the Lotus is wonderful for it's intended purpose - portability, durability, functionality & ease of use. comes complete with a stylish, old-school feel for old-time (ex)combusters.

Well, keep in mind I didn't say it was better than the Lotus, just does some things better.

It's a better party vape for one. As many as 8 people can get stoned off of one bowl with almost no learning curve.

hey man, that's not a fair comparison cause the Lotus was never intended to be a party-type multiple users kind of vape. that's like comparing sitting space between a bus and a car.

but i hear you. so MAX, we need a party style Lotus with extra extra large bowl!

@natural farmer , do i remember correctly, that you are one avid eulogist of the vapor lung? did you manage to use it with the lotus?

I must be a complete idiot?
I have 2 SOLO's!

So this is way better than a SOLO?

I guess I'm missing out?
There certainly isn't anything "idiotic" about buying an arizer solo or even 2 for that matter, I just find that this piece fits my needs in a way that the arizer could never dream of. Not having to worry about charging and having the battery eventually die on out me is a big plus, but the most major factor for me is the fact that it still simulates smoking, which is something I really do miss and would if I was stuck with an electronic piece that I just inhale from.

I always blamed my mother for not giving me a third hand when she made me!
Sadly, the vapor lung would need a third one to be operated, by design... :) And would be pretty hard to adjust temps imo...
Nevertheless since the Lotus' arrival, I didn't miss it at all. I only needed it to alleviate the pain that the long draws of the Solo gave to my teeth and throat! No more of these with the Lotus. Hits are short and potent now! And consumption has also gone down compared to my high tolerance built-up with the Solo...
When there is a party though... Here comes the Solo and a vapor lung to save the day and the lack of a hard hitting desktop unit! Vapor lung hits can be massive even by Cloud/LSV/Sub standards! :D

yes, the vapor lung is a power thing indeed. :) well, i'll not blame the lotus for not being able to connect to it, since it has it's own advantages. :)

i'm ready to spend some cash on a new flame driven portable vaporizer and can't decide between the lotus and the vapman. could the people who had experience with both compare both units, please? i'd really appreciate it.

axakal, get the lotus if you want flavour and get the vapman if you want stealth. Easy. ;)

I already have the Vaponic for stealth and it suits me fine.

I can comment only on the old lotus ..but still something :)
(a friend got new one on its way from verdampftnochmal.de should be here soon, will comment on it too)

Vapman is way smaller . Both fit waterpipes.. having the difference that with lotus u need a waterpipe adaptor.. Lotus comes more expensive..vapman in Europe is half the price ,,=but i believe for it to be more durable at least on the looks... The plate gets a bit damaged.. but you can see no wood chars.. unlike with vapman. Also vapman is easier to overheat.. It's chamber is made of copper covered with gold which can bubble out.

The lotus hold a bit more herb and it is harder to scorch it and you can inhale white you are heating which gives you a easier control over vapor production. With vapman you preaheat than you inhale.. although when you heat it inverted trough a waterpipe you can use the same tech like the lotus :).

On the stealth side.. i find vapman easier to hide but lotus looks more like a pipe which is more acceptable for the public eye :).
on the flavor topic..once you master both there is no big difference :).

I have both but have only started using the Vapman. I also don't have a ton of experience with other vapes other than what I have at hand (MFLB, VG, in addition to the VM and LV)

I think the VM is going to have a place in collection, but with a few caveats. The loading process is probably the biggest issue that I can come up with. It's a little more involved with the Vapman since you have to use the funnel and then carefully remove it after loading your bowl. The more sausage-like your fingers are, the more difficult you'll find it. Also, loading on the go is much more difficult and less stealthy. It's just a matter of being slightly more careful, but isn't a deal breaker.

Pictures of the Vapman don't do it justice in terms if it's size (it's tiny). The size is a plus...and a minus. You have a very good concealed weapon, but at the same time, the bowl is oh-so diminutive. I got pretty baked using it last night, but it took a couple of bowls. I'd probably be inclined to use the VM as my go-to if the bowl had a little more volume.

As far as performance goes, so far it's a draw. I think the Lotus is efficient, but the Vapman is more so. My initial impressions is that the flavor from the VM is better and I prefer it's air flow. The Lotus requires a very low and steady draw which sometimes leaves me wondering how much I'm actually inhaling. I have a J hook on the way which may change the dynamics of the piece a bit, but I think the air flow is limited more by the cap than the stem...we'll see. It's pretty hard to scorch a bowl using either piece but the Lotus is a little more forgiving in terms of technique.

Both pieces are highly detailed works of art. The retail prices are pretty reasonable in my opinion as they have a certain amount of aesthetic appeal that one couldn't get with plastic.

I'd probably suggest the Lotus first choice and the Vapman as a very close second for the new fire powered vaporist.

Basement Farmer, i could be wrong, but it seems you actualy prefer the Vapman in every instance except loading.

I'm surprised about the flavour though, everything points to the Lotus having a better taste. Do you find it easier to get thick hits, is that it?

canj00digit?

All my days in a daze...
Just want to say thanks to all those who contributed to this thread and inspired me to order a Lotus.
I don't know if it will be my holy grail, or my end up my daily driver, or be just a nice alternative to other vapes (I currently use a DBV and have an earlier model Volcano and old school AromaZap collecting dust and I'm on the list to buy an HI and might try a Cloud EVO eventually).

But I think it looks to be a great design in function AND form. Can't wait to try it out. Shipping to down under takes longer.... the waits are harder on us down here.

But, check out my order confirmation screen, I hope this isn't a bad omen! hehe :brow:

I also decided to pick up a nice little double jet torch to try out after I perfect my technique with the stock single flame. I like my ABV dark and I like things quick, so careful use of a double should help both those causes.

Perhaps.

It's still too early to tell. I have to say that the Vapman is easier to clean since all that is involved is dumping it out and maybe giving it a quick brush. I find that the lotus' screen gets packed up pretty quick and makes it more difficult to draw through so it requires a little more attention.

I've resorted to using tweezers to load not just my Vapman, but all my pieces. It also really helps recovering the funnel after a load. The Vapman definitely requires a greater degree of coordination and focus though.

I've found that a quick dip of the business end of the lotus in ETOH does a good job at clearing the screen. Hitting it with a torch from time to time makes quick work of cleaning the screen too.

I think so far each piece has it's own attributes as well as some compromises.

As for the taste, it's very subtle and probably highly subjective. Yeah, I think it could simply due to the difference in the way the air is drawn through the herb and stem. The VM is definitely a quick hitter compared to the Lotus. Maybe it's just my imagination.....but that's OK too.

I finally received my Lotus today and I am a True Believer. This thing is amazing! It milks my glass like no other vape I own. The taste is awesome! More later, because I need to get back to it. :luv:

Edited to add: Why the hell didn't I buy this thing sooner?!?

Took the J hook our for a spin this morning. Love it. It's my first glass experience, and it was really good for being able to see vapor and what kind of heat/ draw it took to get it.

I've also developed my skills with the regular stem. I think I needed to master the drawing technique along with using more heat. Very happy. I two flame torch may be my next investment.

Looking some pages back, this was also my first reaction after some hours with sweet Lotus... :D

Welcome to the gang girl! :)

Just came back from my first long mountain hike! I had also taken the Solo with me but with such a big party to share it between its battery crapped out the same night and there were only USB sockets at the refuge... :p So glad my lotus was also there!!! :D

I went to my buddies place for a few days and brought the lotus for everyone to try out. He has a large grav bong that he uses all the time so while he enjoyed it quite a bit, he still prefered his grav. Chances were that the downstem of the grav was perfect for the WPA so we tried out the lotus on the grav and man was that smooth. Second fill completely torched the bowl into ash but man were those some of the smoothest hits and highest highs ive ever achieved! :smug:
